神命令灭绝亚玛力人

¹撒母耳对扫罗说：“耶和华差遣我膏你为王，治理他的百姓以色列；所以你当听从耶和华的话。Then Samuel said to Saul, “The LORD sent me to anoint you king over His people Israel. Now therefore, listen to the words of the LORD.

²万军之耶和华如此说：‘以色列人出埃及的时候，在路上亚玛力人怎样待他们，怎样抵挡他们，我都没忘。This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘I witnessed what the Amalekites did to the Israelites when they opposed them on their way up from Egypt.

³现在你要去击打亚玛力人，灭尽他们所有的，不可怜惜他们，将男女、孩童、吃奶的，并牛、羊、骆驼，和驴尽行杀死。’”Now go and attack the Amalekites and devote to destruction all that belongs to them. Do not spare them, but put to death men and women, children and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”

扫罗攻打亚玛力

⁴于是扫罗招聚百姓在提拉因，数点他们，共有步兵二十万，另有犹大人一万。So Saul summoned the troops and numbered them at Telaim—200,000 foot soldiers and 10,000 men of Judah.

⁵扫罗到了亚玛力的京城，在谷中设下埋伏。Saul came to the city of Amalek and lay in wait in the valley.

⁶扫罗对基尼人说：“你们离开亚玛力人下去吧，恐怕我将你们和亚玛力人一同杀灭；因为以色列人出埃及的时候，你们曾恩待他们。”于是基尼人离开亚玛力人去了。And he warned the Kenites, “Since you showed kindness to all the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt, go on and get away from the Amalekites. Otherwise I will sweep you away with them.” So the Kenites moved away from the Amalekites.

⁷扫罗击打亚玛力人，从哈腓拉直到埃及前的书珥，Then Saul struck down the Amalekites all the way from Havilah to Shur, which is east of Egypt.

⁸生擒了亚玛力王亚甲，用刀杀尽亚玛力的众民。He captured Agag king of Amalek alive, but devoted all the others to destruction with the sword.

留下亚甲和上好的牛羊

⁹扫罗和百姓却怜惜亚甲，也爱惜上好的牛、羊、牛犊、羊羔，并一切美物，不肯灭绝。凡下贱瘦弱的，尽都杀了。Saul and his troops spared Agag, along with the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves and lambs, and the best of everything else. They were unwilling to devote them to destruction, but they devoted to destruction all that was despised and worthless.

神后悔立扫罗为王

¹⁰耶和华的话临到撒母耳说：Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying,

¹¹“我立扫罗为王，我后悔了；因为他转去不跟从我，不遵守我的命令。”撒母耳便甚忧愁，终夜哀求耶和华。“I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned away from following Me and has not carried out My instructions.” And Samuel was distressed and cried out to the LORD all that night.

扫罗立碑自夸

¹²撒母耳清早起来，迎接扫罗。有人告诉撒母耳说：“扫罗到了迦密，在那里立了纪念碑，又转身下到吉甲。”Early in the morning Samuel got up to confront Saul, but he was told, “Saul has gone to Carmel, and behold, he has set up a monument for himself and has turned and gone down to Gilgal.”

¹³撒母耳到了扫罗那里，扫罗对他说：“愿耶和华赐福与你，耶和华的命令我已遵守了。”When Samuel reached him, Saul said to him, “May the LORD bless you. I have carried out the LORD’s instructions.”

羊叫牛鸣从哪里来

¹⁴撒母耳说：“我耳中听见有羊叫、牛鸣，是从哪里来的呢？”But Samuel replied, “Then what is this bleating of sheep and lowing of cattle that I hear?”

¹⁵扫罗说：“这是百姓从亚玛力人那里带来的；因为他们爱惜上好的牛羊，要献与耶和华—你的　神；其余的，我们都灭尽了。”Saul answered, “The troops brought them from the Amalekites; they spared the best sheep and cattle to sacrifice to the LORD your God, but the rest we devoted to destruction.”

¹⁶撒母耳对扫罗说：“你住口吧！等我将耶和华昨夜向我所说的话告诉你。”扫罗说：“请讲。”“Stop!” exclaimed Samuel. “Let me tell you what the LORD said to me last night.” “Tell me,” Saul replied.

¹⁷撒母耳对扫罗说：“从前你虽然以自己为小，岂不是被立为以色列支派的元首吗？耶和华膏你作以色列的王。And Samuel said, “Although you were once small in your own eyes, have you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The LORD anointed you king over Israel

¹⁸耶和华差遣你，吩咐你说，你去击打那些犯罪的亚玛力人，将他们灭绝净尽。and sent you on a mission, saying, ‘Go and devote to destruction the sinful Amalekites. Fight against them until you have wiped them out.’

¹⁹你为何没有听从耶和华的命令，急忙掳掠财物，行耶和华眼中看为恶的事呢？”So why did you not obey the LORD? Why did you rush upon the plunder and do evil in the sight of the LORD?”

²⁰扫罗对撒母耳说：“我实在听从了耶和华的命令，行了耶和华所差遣我行的路，擒了亚玛力王亚甲来，灭尽了亚玛力人。“But I did obey the LORD,” Saul replied. “I went on the mission that the LORD gave me. I brought back Agag king of Amalek and devoted the Amalekites to destruction.

²¹百姓却在所当灭的物中，取了最好的牛羊，要在吉甲献与耶和华—你的　神。”The troops took sheep and cattle from the plunder, the best of the things devoted to destruction, in order to sacrifice them to the LORD your God at Gilgal.”

听命胜于献祭

²²撒母耳说：耶和华喜悦燔祭和平安祭，岂如喜悦人听从他的话呢？听命胜于献祭；顺从胜于公羊的脂油。But Samuel declared: “Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obedience to His voice? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, and attentiveness is better than the fat of rams.

²³悖逆的罪与行邪术的罪相等；顽梗的罪与拜虚神和偶像的罪相同。你既厌弃耶和华的命令，耶和华也厌弃你作王。For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance is like the wickedness of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.”

扫罗认罪，衣襟撕断

²⁴扫罗对撒母耳说：“我有罪了，我因惧怕百姓，听从他们的话，就违背了耶和华的命令和你的言语。Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned; I have transgressed the LORD’s commandment and your instructions, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.

²⁵现在求你赦免我的罪，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和华。”Now therefore, please forgive my sin and return with me so I can worship the LORD.”

²⁶撒母耳对扫罗说：“我不同你回去；因为你厌弃耶和华的命令，耶和华也厌弃你作以色列的王。”“I will not return with you,” Samuel replied. “For you have rejected the word of the LORD, and He has rejected you as king over Israel.”

²⁷撒母耳转身要走，扫罗就扯住他外袍的衣襟，衣襟就撕断了。As Samuel turned to go, Saul grabbed the hem of his robe, and it tore.

²⁸撒母耳对他说：“如此，今日耶和华使以色列国与你断绝，将这国赐与比你更好的人。So Samuel said to him, “The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you.

²⁹以色列的大能者必不致说谎，也不致后悔；因为他迥非世人，决不后悔。”Moreover, the Glory of Israel does not lie or change His mind, for He is not a man, that He should change His mind.”

撒母耳随扫罗回去

³⁰扫罗说：“我有罪了，虽然如此，求你在我百姓的长老和以色列人面前抬举我，同我回去，我好敬拜耶和华—你的　神。”“I have sinned,” Saul replied. “Please honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel. Come back with me, so that I may worship the LORD your God.”

³¹于是撒母耳转身跟随扫罗回去，扫罗就敬拜耶和华。So Samuel went back with Saul, and Saul worshiped the LORD.

撒母耳杀亚甲

³²撒母耳说：“要把亚玛力王亚甲带到我这里来。”亚甲就欢欢喜喜地来到他面前，心里说，死亡的苦难必定过去了。Then Samuel said, “Bring me Agag king of the Amalekites.” Agag came to him cheerfully, for he thought, “Surely the bitterness of death is past.”

³³撒母耳说：“你既用刀使妇人丧子，这样，你母亲在妇人中也必丧子。”于是，撒母耳在吉甲耶和华面前将亚甲杀死。But Samuel declared: “As your sword has made women childless, so your mother will be childless among women.” And Samuel hacked Agag to pieces before the LORD at Gilgal.

撒母耳为扫罗悲伤

³⁴撒母耳回了拉玛。扫罗上他所住的基比亚，回自己的家去了。Then Samuel went to Ramah, but Saul went up to his home in Gibeah of Saul.

³⁵撒母耳直到死的日子，再没有见扫罗；但撒母耳为扫罗悲伤，是因耶和华后悔立他为以色列的王。And to the day of his death, Samuel never again visited Saul. Samuel mourned for Saul, and the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.

你仗着甚么权柄

¹有一天，耶稣在殿里教训百姓，讲福音的时候，祭司长和文士并长老上前来，One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts and proclaiming the gospel, the chief priests and scribes, together with the elders, came up to Him.

²问他说：“你告诉我们，你仗着什么权柄做这些事？给你这权柄的是谁呢？”“Tell us,” they said, “by what authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this authority?”

耶稣反问约翰的洗礼

³耶稣回答说：“我也要问你们一句话，你们且告诉我。“I will also ask you a question,” Jesus replied. “Tell Me:

⁴约翰的洗礼是从天上来的？是从人间来的呢？”John’s baptism—was it from heaven, or from men?”

⁵他们彼此商议说：“我们若说‘从天上来’，他必说：‘你们为什么不信他呢？’They deliberated among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will ask, ‘Why did you not believe him?’

⁶若说‘从人间来’，百姓都要用石头打死我们，因为他们信约翰是先知。”But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are convinced that John was a prophet.”

⁷于是回答说：“不知道是从哪里来的。”So they answered that they did not know where it was from.

⁸耶稣说：“我也不告诉你们，我仗着什么权柄做这些事。”And Jesus replied, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”

恶园户的比喻

⁹耶稣就设比喻对百姓说：“有人栽了一个葡萄园，租给园户，就往外国去住了许久。Then He proceeded to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard, rented it out to some tenants, and went away for a long time.

¹⁰到了时候，打发一个仆人到园户那里去，叫他们把园中当纳的果子交给他；园户竟打了他，叫他空手回去。At harvest time, he sent a servant to the tenants to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat the servant and sent him away empty-handed.

¹¹又打发一个仆人去，他们也打了他，并且凌辱他，叫他空手回去。So he sent another servant, but they beat him and treated him shamefully, sending him away empty-handed.

¹²又打发第三个仆人去，他们也打伤了他，把他推出去了。Then he sent a third, but they wounded him and threw him out.

园主打发爱子

¹³园主说：‘我怎么办呢？我要打发我的爱子去，或者他们尊敬他。’‘What shall I do?’ asked the owner of the vineyard. ‘I will send my beloved son. Perhaps they will respect him.’

¹⁴不料，园户看见他，就彼此商量说：‘这是承受产业的，我们杀他吧，使产业归于我们！’But when the tenants saw the son, they discussed it among themselves and said, ‘This is the heir. Let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’

¹⁵于是把他推出葡萄园外，杀了。这样，葡萄园的主人要怎样处治他们呢？So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

¹⁶他要来除灭这些园户，将葡萄园转给别人。”听见的人说：“这是万不可的！”He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others.” And when the people heard this, they said, “May such a thing never happen!”

宗教领袖想要拿耶稣

¹⁹文士和祭司长看出这比喻是指着他们说的，当时就想要下手拿他，只是惧怕百姓。When the scribes and chief priests realized that Jesus had spoken this parable against them, they sought to arrest Him that very hour. But they were afraid of the people.
