亚干取了当灭的物

¹以色列人在当灭的物上犯了罪；因为犹大支派中，谢拉的曾孙，撒底的孙子，迦米的儿子亚干取了当灭的物；耶和华的怒气就向以色列人发作。The Israelites, however, acted unfaithfully regarding the things devoted to destruction. Achan son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of what was set apart. So the anger of the LORD burned against the Israelites.

在艾城败退

²当下，约书亚从耶利哥打发人往伯特利东边、靠近伯·亚文的艾城去，吩咐他们说：“你们上去窥探那地。”他们就上去窥探艾城。Meanwhile, Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is near Beth-aven to the east of Bethel, and told them, “Go up and spy out the land.” So the men went up and spied out Ai.

³他们回到约书亚那里，对他说：“众民不必都上去，只要二三千人上去就能攻取艾城；不必劳累众民都去，因为那里的人少。”On returning to Joshua, they reported, “There is no need to send all the people; two or three thousand men are enough to go up and attack Ai. Since the people of Ai are so few, you need not wear out all our people there.”

⁴于是民中约有三千人上那里去，竟在艾城人面前逃跑了。So about three thousand men went up, but they fled before the men of Ai.

⁵艾城的人击杀了他们三十六人，从城门前追赶他们，直到示巴琳，在下坡杀败他们；众民的心就消化如水。And the men of Ai struck down about thirty-six of them, chasing them from the gate as far as the quarries and striking them down on the slopes. So the hearts of the people melted and became like water.

约书亚俯伏哀求

⁶约书亚便撕裂衣服；他和以色列的长老把灰撒在头上，在耶和华的约柜前俯伏在地，直到晚上。Then Joshua tore his clothes and fell facedown before the ark of the LORD until evening, as did the elders of Israel; and they all sprinkled dust on their heads.

⁷约书亚说：“哀哉！主耶和华啊，你为什么竟领这百姓过约旦河，将我们交在亚摩利人的手中，使我们灭亡呢？我们不如住在约旦河那边倒好。“O, Lord GOD,” Joshua said, “why did You ever bring this people across the Jordan to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites to be destroyed? If only we had been content to stay on the other side of the Jordan!

⁸主啊，以色列人既在仇敌面前转背逃跑，我还有什么可说的呢？O Lord, what can I say, now that Israel has turned its back and run from its enemies?

⁹迦南人和这地一切的居民听见了就必围困我们，将我们的名从地上除灭。那时你为你的大名要怎样行呢？”When the Canaanites and all who live in the land hear about this, they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. Then what will You do for Your great name?”

营中有当灭的物

¹⁰耶和华吩咐约书亚说：“起来！你为何这样俯伏在地呢？But the LORD said to Joshua, “Stand up! Why have you fallen on your face?

¹¹以色列人犯了罪，违背了我所吩咐他们的约，取了当灭的物；又偷窃，又行诡诈，又把那当灭的放在他们的家具里。Israel has sinned; they have transgressed My covenant that I commanded them, and they have taken some of what was devoted to destruction. Indeed, they have stolen and lied, and they have put these things with their own possessions.

¹²因此，以色列人在仇敌面前站立不住。他们在仇敌面前转背逃跑，是因成了被咒诅的；你们若不把当灭的物从你们中间除掉，我就不再与你们同在了。This is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies. They will turn their backs and run from their enemies, because they themselves have been set apart for destruction. I will no longer be with you unless you remove from among you whatever is devoted to destruction.

¹³你起来，叫百姓自洁，对他们说：‘你们要自洁，预备明天，因为耶和华—以色列的　神这样说：以色列啊，你们中间有当灭的物，你们若不除掉，在仇敌面前必站立不住！’Get up and consecrate the people, saying, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, for this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Among you, O Israel, there are things devoted to destruction. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them.

¹⁴到了早晨，你们要按着支派近前来；耶和华所取的支派，要按着宗族近前来；耶和华所取的宗族，要按着家室近前来；耶和华所取的家室，要按着人丁，一个一个地近前来。In the morning you must present yourselves tribe by tribe. The tribe that the LORD selects shall come forward clan by clan, and the clan that the LORD selects shall come forward family by family, and the family that the LORD selects shall come forward man by man.

¹⁵被取的人有当灭的物在他那里，他和他所有的必被火焚烧；因他违背了耶和华的约，又因他在以色列中行了愚妄的事。”The one who is caught with the things devoted to destruction must be burned, along with all that belongs to him, because he has transgressed the covenant of the LORD and committed an outrage in Israel.’”

查出亚干

¹⁶于是，约书亚清早起来，使以色列人按着支派近前来，取出来的是犹大支派；So Joshua arose early the next morning and had Israel come forward tribe by tribe, and the tribe of Judah was selected.

¹⁷使犹大支派（原文是宗族）近前来，就取了谢拉的宗族；使谢拉的宗族，按着家室人丁，一个一个地近前来，取出来的是撒底；He had the clans of Judah come forward, and the clan of the Zerahites was selected. He had the clan of the Zerahites come forward, and the family of Zabdi was selected.

¹⁸使撒底的家室，按着人丁，一个一个地近前来，就取出犹大支派的人谢拉的曾孙，撒底的孙子，迦米的儿子亚干。And he had the family of Zabdi come forward man by man, and Achan son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was selected.

亚干认罪

¹⁹约书亚对亚干说：“我儿，我劝你将荣耀归给耶和华—以色列的　神，在他面前认罪，将你所做的事告诉我，不要向我隐瞒。”So Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory to the LORD, the God of Israel, and make a confession to Him. I urge you to tell me what you have done; do not hide it from me.”

²⁰亚干回答约书亚说：“我实在得罪了耶和华—以色列的　神。我所做的事如此如此：“It is true,” Achan replied, “I have sinned against the LORD, the God of Israel. This is what I did:

²¹我在所夺的财物中看见一件美好的示拿衣服，二百舍客勒银子，一条金子重五十舍客勒，我就贪爱这些物件，便拿去了。现今藏在我帐棚内的地里，银子在衣服底下。”When I saw among the spoils a beautiful cloak from Shinar, two hundred shekels of silver, and a bar of gold weighing fifty shekels, I coveted them and took them. They are hidden in the ground inside my tent, with the silver underneath.”

²²约书亚就打发人跑到亚干的帐棚里。那件衣服果然藏在他帐棚内，银子在底下。So Joshua sent messengers who ran to the tent, and there it all was, hidden in his tent, with the silver underneath.

²³他们就从帐棚里取出来，拿到约书亚和以色列众人那里，放在耶和华面前。They took the things from inside the tent, brought them to Joshua and all the Israelites, and spread them out before the LORD.

在亚割谷受罚

²⁴约书亚和以色列众人把谢拉的曾孙亚干和那银子、那件衣服、那条金子，并亚干的儿女、牛、驴、羊、帐棚，以及他所有的，都带到亚割谷去。Then Joshua, together with all Israel, took Achan son of Zerah, the silver, the cloak, the bar of gold, his sons and daughters, his oxen and donkeys and sheep, his tent, and everything else he owned, and brought them to the Valley of Achor.

²⁵约书亚说：“你为什么连累我们呢？今日耶和华必叫你受连累。”于是以色列众人用石头打死他，将石头扔在其上，又用火焚烧他所有的（原文是他们）。“Why have you brought this trouble upon us?” said Joshua. “Today the LORD will bring trouble upon you!” And all Israel stoned him to death. Then they stoned the others and burned their bodies.

²⁶众人在亚干身上堆成一大堆石头，直存到今日。于是耶和华转意，不发他的烈怒。因此那地方名叫亚割谷（就是连累的意思），直到今日。And they heaped over Achan a large pile of rocks that remains to this day. So the LORD turned from His burning anger. Therefore that place is called the Valley of Achor to this day.

神应许交出艾城

¹耶和华对约书亚说：“不要惧怕，也不要惊惶。你起来，率领一切兵丁上艾城去，我已经把艾城的王和他的民、他的城，并他的地，都交在你手里。Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid or discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. See, I have delivered into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city, and his land.

²你怎样待耶利哥和耶利哥的王，也当照样待艾城和艾城的王。只是城内所夺的财物和牲畜，你们可以取为自己的掠物。你要在城后设下伏兵。”And you shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king, except that you may carry off their plunder and livestock for yourselves. Set up an ambush behind the city.”

设下伏兵

³于是，约书亚和一切兵丁都起来，要上艾城去。约书亚选了三万大能的勇士，夜间打发他们前往，So Joshua and the whole army set out to attack Ai. Joshua chose 30,000 mighty men of valor and sent them out at night

⁴吩咐他们说：“你们要在城后埋伏，不可离城太远，都要各自准备。with these orders: “Pay attention. You are to lie in ambush behind the city, not too far from it. All of you must be ready.

⁵我与我所带领的众民要向城前往。城里的人像初次出来攻击我们的时候，我们就在他们面前逃跑，Then I and all the troops with me will advance on the city. When they come out against us as they did the first time, we will flee from them.

⁶他们必出来追赶我们，直到我们引诱他们离开城；因为他们必说：‘这些人像初次在我们面前逃跑。’所以我们要在他们面前逃跑，They will pursue us until we have drawn them away from the city, for they will say, ‘The Israelites are running away from us as they did before.’ So as we flee from them,

⁷你们就从埋伏的地方起来，夺取那城，因为耶和华—你们的　神必把城交在你们手里。you are to rise from the ambush and seize the city, for the LORD your God will deliver it into your hand.

⁸你们夺了城以后，就放火烧城，要照耶和华的话行。这是我吩咐你们的。”And when you have taken the city, set it on fire. Do as the LORD has commanded! See, I have given you orders.”

⁹约书亚打发他们前往，他们就上埋伏的地方去，住在伯特利和艾城的中间，就是在艾城的西边。这夜约书亚却在民中住宿。So Joshua sent them out, and they went to the place of ambush and lay in wait between Bethel and Ai, to the west of Ai. But Joshua spent that night among the people.

¹⁰约书亚清早起来，点齐百姓，他和以色列的长老在百姓前面上艾城去。Joshua got up early the next morning and mobilized his men, and he and the elders of Israel marched before them up to Ai.

¹¹众民，就是他所带领的兵丁，都上去，向前直往，来到城前，在艾城北边安营。在约书亚和艾城中间有一山谷。Then all the troops who were with him marched up and approached the city. They arrived in front of Ai and camped to the north of it, with the valley between them and the city.

¹²他挑了约有五千人，使他们埋伏在伯特利和艾城的中间，就是在艾城的西边，Now Joshua had taken about five thousand men and set up an ambush between Bethel and Ai, to the west of the city.

¹³于是安置了百姓，就是城北的全军和城西的伏兵。这夜约书亚进入山谷之中。So the forces were stationed with the main camp to the north of the city and the rear guard to the west of the city. And that night Joshua went into the valley.

引诱艾城人离城

¹⁴艾城的王看见这景况，就和全城的人，清早急忙起来，按所定的时候，出到亚拉巴前，要与以色列人交战；王却不知道在城后有伏兵。When the king of Ai saw the Israelites, he hurried out early in the morning with the men of the city to engage them in battle at an appointed place overlooking the Arabah. But he did not know that an ambush had been set up against him behind the city.

¹⁵约书亚和以色列众人在他们面前装败，往那通旷野的路逃跑。Joshua and all Israel let themselves be beaten back before them, and they fled toward the wilderness.

¹⁶城内的众民都被招聚，追赶他们；艾城人追赶的时候，就被引诱离开城。Then all the men of Ai were summoned to pursue them, and they followed Joshua and were drawn away from the city.

¹⁷艾城和伯特利城没有一人不出来追赶以色列人的，撇了敞开的城门，去追赶以色列人。Not a man was left in Ai or Bethel who did not go out after Israel, leaving the city wide open while they pursued Israel.

向艾城伸出短枪

¹⁸耶和华吩咐约书亚说：“你向艾城伸出手里的短枪，因为我要将城交在你手里。”约书亚就向城伸出手里的短枪。Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Hold out your battle lance toward Ai, for into your hand I will deliver the city.” So Joshua held out his battle lance toward Ai,

¹⁹他一伸手，伏兵就从埋伏的地方急忙起来，夺了城，跑进城去，放火焚烧。and as soon as he did so, the men in ambush rose quickly from their position. They rushed forward, entered the city, captured it, and immediately set it on fire.

²⁰艾城的人回头一看，不料，城中烟气冲天，他们就无力向左向右逃跑。那往旷野逃跑的百姓便转身攻击追赶他们的人。When the men of Ai turned and looked back, the smoke of the city was rising into the sky. They could not escape in any direction, and the troops who had fled to the wilderness now turned against their pursuers.

²¹约书亚和以色列众人见伏兵已经夺了城，城中烟气飞腾，就转身回去，击杀艾城的人。When Joshua and all Israel saw that the men in ambush had captured the city and that smoke was rising from it, they turned around and struck down the men of Ai.

²²伏兵也出城迎击艾城人，艾城人就困在以色列人中间，前后都是以色列人。于是以色列人击杀他们，没有留下一个，也没有一个逃脱的，Meanwhile, those in the ambush came out of the city against them, and the men of Ai were trapped between the Israelite forces on both sides. So Israel struck them down until no survivor or fugitive remained.

²³生擒了艾城的王，将他解到约书亚那里。But they took the king of Ai alive and brought him to Joshua.

²⁴以色列人在田间和旷野杀尽所追赶一切艾城的居民。艾城人倒在刀下，直到灭尽；以色列众人就回到艾城，用刀杀了城中的人。When Israel had finished killing all the men of Ai who had pursued them into the field and wilderness, and when every last one of them had fallen by the sword, all the Israelites returned to Ai and put it to the sword as well.

²⁵当日杀毙的人，连男带女共有一万二千，就是艾城所有的人。A total of twelve thousand men and women fell that day—all the people of Ai.

²⁶约书亚没有收回手里所伸出来的短枪，直到把艾城的一切居民尽行杀灭。Joshua did not draw back the hand that held his battle lance until he had devoted to destruction all who lived in Ai.

²⁷惟独城中的牲畜和财物，以色列人都取为自己的掠物，是照耶和华所吩咐约书亚的话。Israel took for themselves only the cattle and plunder of that city, as the LORD had commanded Joshua.

²⁸约书亚将艾城焚烧，使城永为高堆、荒场，直到今日；So Joshua burned Ai and made it a permanent heap of ruins, a desolation to this day.

²⁹又将艾城王挂在树上，直到晚上。日落的时候，约书亚吩咐人把尸首从树上取下来，丢在城门口，在尸首上堆成一大堆石头，直存到今日。He hung the king of Ai on a tree until evening, and at sunset Joshua commanded that they take down the body from the tree and throw it down at the entrance of the city gate. And over it they raised a large pile of rocks, which remains to this day.

在以巴路山筑坛宣读律法

³⁰那时，约书亚在以巴路山上为耶和华—以色列的　神筑一座坛，At that time Joshua built an altar on Mount Ebal to the LORD, the God of Israel,

³¹是用没有动过铁器的整石头筑的，照着耶和华仆人摩西所吩咐以色列人的话，正如摩西律法书上所写的。众人在这坛上给耶和华奉献燔祭和平安祭。just as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded the Israelites. He built it according to what is written in the Book of the Law of Moses: “an altar of uncut stones on which no iron tool has been used.” And on it they offered burnt offerings to the LORD, and they sacrificed peace offerings.

³²约书亚在那里，当着以色列人面前，将摩西所写的律法抄写在石头上。And there in the presence of the Israelites, Joshua inscribed on the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he had written.

³³以色列众人，无论是本地人、是寄居的，和长老、官长，并审判官，都站在约柜两旁，在抬耶和华约柜的祭司利未人面前，一半对着基利心山，一半对着以巴路山，为以色列民祝福，正如耶和华仆人摩西先前所吩咐的。All Israel, foreigners and citizens alike, with their elders, officers, and judges, stood on both sides of the ark of the covenant of the LORD facing the Levitical priests who carried it. Half of the people stood in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded earlier, to bless the people of Israel.

³⁴随后，约书亚将律法上祝福、咒诅的话，照着律法书上一切所写的，都宣读了一遍。Afterward, Joshua read aloud all the words of the law—the blessings and the curses—according to all that is written in the Book of the Law.

³⁵摩西所吩咐的一切话，约书亚在以色列全会众和妇女、孩子，并他们中间寄居的外人面前，没有一句不宣读的。There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua failed to read before the whole assembly of Israel, including the women, the little ones, and the foreigners who lived among them.

妇女们跟随供给

¹过了不多日，耶稣周游各城各乡传道，宣讲　神国的福音。和他同去的有十二个门徒，Soon afterward, Jesus traveled from one town and village to another, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with Him,

²还有被恶鬼所附、被疾病所累、已经治好的几个妇女，内中有称为抹大拉的马利亚（曾有七个鬼从她身上赶出来），as well as some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,

³又有希律的家宰苦撒的妻子约亚拿，并苏撒拿，和好些别的妇女，都是用自己的财物供给耶稣和门徒。Joanna the wife of Herod’s household manager Chuza, Susanna, and many others. These women were ministering to them out of their own means.

撒种的比喻

⁴当许多人聚集、又有人从各城里出来见耶稣的时候，耶稣就用比喻说：While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, He told them this parable:

⁵“有一个撒种的出去撒种。撒的时候，有落在路旁的，被人践踏，天上的飞鸟又来吃尽了。“A farmer went out to sow his seed. And as he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, where it was trampled, and the birds of the air devoured it.

⁶有落在磐石上的，一出来就枯干了，因为得不着滋润。Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the seedlings withered because they had no moisture.

⁷有落在荆棘里的，荆棘一同生长，把它挤住了。Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the seedlings.

⁸又有落在好土里的，生长起来，结实百倍。”耶稣说了这些话，就大声说：“有耳可听的，就应当听！”Still other seed fell on good soil, where it sprang up and produced a crop—a hundredfold.” As Jesus said this, He called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

为甚么用比喻

⁹门徒问耶稣说：“这比喻是什么意思呢？”Then His disciples asked Him what this parable meant.

¹⁰他说：“　神国的奥秘只叫你们知道；至于别人，就用比喻，叫他们看也看不见，听也听不明。”He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, ‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.’

比喻的解释

¹¹“这比喻乃是这样：种子就是　神的道。Now this is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.

¹²那些在路旁的，就是人听了道，随后魔鬼来，从他们心里把道夺去，恐怕他们信了得救。The seeds along the path are those who hear, but the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

¹³那些在磐石上的，就是人听道，欢喜领受，但心中没有根，不过暂时相信，及至遇见试炼就退后了。The seeds on rocky ground are those who hear the word and receive it with joy, but they have no root. They believe for a season, but in the time of testing, they fall away.

¹⁴那落在荆棘里的，就是人听了道，走开以后，被今生的思虑、钱财、宴乐挤住了，便结不出成熟的子粒来。The seeds that fell among the thorns are those who hear, but as they go on their way, they are choked by the worries, riches, and pleasures of this life, and their fruit does not mature.

¹⁵那落在好土里的，就是人听了道，持守在诚实善良的心里，并且忍耐着结实。”But the seeds on good soil are those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, cling to it, and by persevering produce a crop.

灯要放在灯台上

¹⁶“没有人点灯用器皿盖上，或放在床底下，乃是放在灯台上，叫进来的人看见亮光。No one lights a lamp and covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he sets it on a stand, so those who enter can see the light.

¹⁷因为掩藏的事没有不显出来的；隐瞒的事没有不露出来被人知道的。For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be made known and brought to light.

耶稣真正的亲属

¹⁹耶稣的母亲和他弟兄来了，因为人多，不得到他跟前。Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see Him, but they were unable to reach Him because of the crowd.

²⁰有人告诉他说：“你母亲和你弟兄站在外边，要见你。”He was told, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see You.”

平静风浪

²²有一天，耶稣和门徒上了船，对门徒说：“我们可以渡到湖那边去。”他们就开了船。One day Jesus said to His disciples, “Let us cross to the other side of the lake.” So He got into a boat with them and set out.

²³正行的时候，耶稣睡着了。湖上忽然起了暴风，船将满了水，甚是危险。As they sailed, He fell asleep, and a windstorm came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger.

²⁴门徒来叫醒了他，说：“夫子！夫子！我们丧命啦！”耶稣醒了，斥责那狂风大浪；风浪就止住，平静了。The disciples went and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters, and they subsided, and all was calm.

²⁵耶稣对他们说：“你们的信心在哪里呢？”他们又惧怕又希奇，彼此说：“这到底是谁？他吩咐风和水，连风和水也听从他了。”“Where is your faith?” He asked. Frightened and amazed, they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!”
