2勸老年人要有節制、、自守，在信心、愛心、忍耐上都要純全無疵。Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, love, and perseverance.
3又勸老年婦人，舉止行動要，不說讒言，不，用善道教訓人，Older women, likewise, are to be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers or addicted to much wine, but teachers of good.
4好指教少年婦人，愛丈夫，愛兒女，In this way they can train the young women to love their husbands and children,
5謹守，貞潔，，待人有恩，順服自己的丈夫，免得 神的道理被毀謗。to be self-controlled, pure, managers of their households, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be discredited.
6又勸少年人要謹守。In the same way, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.
7你自己凡事要顯出善行的榜樣；在教訓上要、端莊，In everything, show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,
8言語純全，無可指責，叫那反對的人，既無處可說我們的不是，便自覺羞愧。and wholesome speech that is above reproach, so that anyone who opposes us will be ashamed, having nothing bad to say about us.
9勸僕人要順服自己的主人，凡事討他的喜歡，不可他，Slaves are to submit to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
10不可東西，要顯為忠誠，以致凡事尊榮我們救主─ 神的道。not stealing from them, but showing all good faith, so that in every respect they will adorn the teaching about God our Savior.
11因為 神救眾人的恩典已經顯明出來，For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to everyone.
12教訓我們除去不敬虔的心和世俗的情慾，在今世、公義、敬虔度日，It instructs us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
13等候所盼望的福，並等候至大的 神和我們（或譯： 神─我們）耶穌基督的榮耀。as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
14他為我們捨了自己，要我們脫離一切罪惡，又潔淨我們，特作，。He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
15這些事你要講明，勸戒人，用各等權柄責備人；不可叫人你。Speak these things as you encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
