1我兒，你若領受我的言語，存記我的命令，My son, if you accept my words and hide my commandments within you,
2側耳聽智慧，專心求聰明，if you incline your ear to wisdom and direct your heart to understanding,
3呼求明哲，揚聲求聰明，if you truly call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding,
4尋找它，如尋找銀子，搜求它，如搜求隱藏的珍寶，if you seek it like silver and search it out like hidden treasure,
5你就明白敬畏耶和華，得以認識 神。then you will discern the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge of God.
6因為，耶和華賜人智慧；知識和聰明都由他口而出。For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7他給正直人存留，給行為純正的人作盾牌，He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk with integrity,
8為要保守公平人的路，護庇虔敬人的道。to guard the paths of justice and protect the way of His saints.
9你也必明白仁義、公平、正直、一切的善道。Then you will discern righteousness and justice and equity—every good path.
10智慧必入你心；你的靈要以知識為美。For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will delight your soul.
11謀略必護衛你；聰明必保守你，Discretion will watch over you, and understanding will guard you,
12要救你脫離惡道（或譯：惡人的道），脫離說話的人。to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perversity,
13那等人捨棄正直的路，行走黑暗的道，from those who leave the straight paths to walk in the ways of darkness,
14歡喜作惡，喜愛惡人的乖僻，from those who enjoy doing evil and rejoice in the twistedness of evil,
15在他們的道中彎曲，在他們的路上偏僻。whose paths are crooked and whose ways are devious.
16智慧要救你脫離淫婦，就是那油嘴滑舌的。It will rescue you from the forbidden woman, from the stranger with seductive words
17她離棄，忘了 神的盟約。who abandons the partner of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.
18她的家陷入死地；她的路偏向。For her house sinks down to death, and her tracks to the departed spirits.
19凡到她那裡去的，不得轉回，也得不著生命的路。None who go to her return or negotiate the paths of life.
20智慧必使你行善人的道，守義人的路。So you will follow in the ways of the good, and keep to the paths of the righteous.
21正直人必在世上居住；完全人必在地上存留。For the upright will inhabit the land, and the blameless will remain in it;
22惟有惡人必然剪除；奸詐的，必然拔出。but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be uprooted.
