箴言 10

¹所羅門的箴言：智慧之子使父親歡樂；愚昧之子叫母親擔憂。The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son grief to his mother.

²不義之財毫無益處；惟有公義能救人脫離死亡。Ill-gotten treasures profit nothing, but righteousness brings deliverance from death.

³耶和華不使義人受飢餓；惡人所欲的，他必推開。The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry, but He denies the craving of the wicked.

⁴手懶的，要受貧窮；手勤的，卻要富足。Idle hands make one poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.

⁵夏天聚斂的，是智慧之子；收割時沉睡的，是貽羞之子。He who gathers in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

⁶福祉臨到義人的頭；強暴蒙蔽惡人的口。Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

⁷義人的紀念被稱讚；惡人的名字必朽爛。The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.

⁸心中智慧的，必受命令；口裡愚妄的，必致傾倒。A wise heart will receive commandments, but foolish lips will come to ruin.

⁹行正直路的，步步安穩；走彎曲道的，必致敗露。He who walks in integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out.

¹⁰以眼傳神的，使人憂患；口裡愚妄的，必致傾倒。He who winks the eye causes grief, and foolish lips will come to ruin.

¹¹義人的口是生命的泉源；強暴蒙蔽惡人的口。The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

¹²恨能挑啟爭端；愛能遮掩一切過錯。Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers all transgressions.

¹³明哲人嘴裡有智慧；無知人背上受刑杖。Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks judgment.

¹⁴智慧人積存知識；愚妄人的口速致敗壞。The wise store up knowledge, but the mouth of the fool invites destruction.

¹⁵富戶的財物是他的堅城；窮人的貧乏是他的敗壞。The wealth of the rich man is his fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor.

¹⁶義人的勤勞致生；惡人的進項致死（死：原文是罪）。The labor of the righteous leads to life, but the gain of the wicked brings punishment.

¹⁷謹守訓誨的，乃在生命的道上；違棄責備的，便失迷了路。Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life, but he who ignores reproof goes astray.

¹⁸隱藏怨恨的，有說謊的嘴；口出讒謗的，是愚妄的人。The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever spreads slander is a fool.

¹⁹多言多語難免有過；禁止嘴唇是有智慧。When words are many, sin is unavoidable, but he who restrains his lips is wise.

²⁰義人的舌乃似高銀；惡人的心所值無幾。The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked has little worth.

²¹義人的口教養多人；愚昧人因無知而死亡。The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of judgment.

²²耶和華所賜的福使人富足，並不加上憂慮。The blessing of the LORD enriches, and He adds no sorrow to it.

²³愚妄人以行惡為戲耍；明哲人卻以智慧為樂。The fool delights in shameful conduct, but a man of understanding has wisdom.

²⁴惡人所怕的，必臨到他；義人所願的，必蒙應允。What the wicked man dreads will overtake him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.

²⁵暴風一過，惡人歸於無有；義人的根基卻是永久。When the whirlwind passes, the wicked are no more, but the righteous are secure forever.

²⁶懶惰人叫差他的人如醋倒牙，如煙薰目。Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes, so is the slacker to those who send him.

²⁷敬畏耶和華使人日子加多；但惡人的年歲必被減少。The fear of the LORD prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be cut short.

²⁸義人的盼望必得喜樂；惡人的指望必致滅沒。The hope of the righteous is joy, but the expectations of the wicked will perish.

²⁹耶和華的道是正直人的保障，卻成了作孽人的敗壞。The way of the LORD is a refuge to the upright, but destruction awaits those who do evil.

³⁰義人永不挪移；惡人不得住在地上。The righteous will never be shaken, but the wicked will not inhabit the land.

³¹義人的口滋生智慧；乖謬的舌必被割斷。The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out.

³²義人的嘴能令人喜悅；惡人的口說乖謬的話。The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked is perverse.
