1摩西曉諭以色列各支派的首領說：「耶和華所吩咐的乃是這樣：Then Moses said to the heads of the tribes of Israel, “This is what the LORD has commanded:
2人若向耶和華許願或起誓，要，就不可，必要按口中所出的一切話行。If a man makes a vow to the LORD or swears an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word; he must do everything he has promised.
3女子年幼、還在父家的時候，若向耶和華許願，要約束自己，And if a woman in her father’s house during her youth makes a vow to the LORD or obligates herself by a pledge,
4她父親也聽見她所許的願並約束自己的話，卻向她，她所許的願並約束自己的話就都要。and her father hears about her vow or pledge but says nothing to her, then all the vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand.
5但她父親聽見的日子若她所許的願和約束自己的話，就都不得為定；耶和華也必赦免她，因為她父親不應承。But if her father prohibits her on the day he hears about it, then none of the vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand. The LORD will absolve her because her father has prohibited her.
6她若出了嫁，有願在身，或是口中出了約束自己的，If a woman marries while under a vow or rash promise by which she has bound herself,
7她丈夫聽見的日子，卻向她默默不言，她所許的願並約束自己的話就都要為定。and her husband hears of it but says nothing to her on that day, then the vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand.
8但她丈夫聽見的日子，若不應承，就算廢了她所許的願和她出口約束自己的冒失話；耶和華也必赦免她。But if her husband prohibits her when he hears of it, he nullifies the vow that binds her or the rash promise she has made, and the LORD will absolve her.
9寡婦或是所許的願，就是她約束自己的話，都要為定。Every vow a widow or divorced woman pledges to fulfill is binding on her.
10她若在丈夫家裡許了願或起了誓，約束自己，If a woman in her husband’s house has made a vow or put herself under an obligation with an oath,
11丈夫聽見，卻向她默默不言，也沒有不應承，她所許的願並約束自己的話就都要為定。and her husband hears of it but says nothing to her and does not prohibit her, then all the vows or pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand.
12丈夫聽見的日子，若把這兩樣全廢了，婦人口中所許的願或是約束自己的話就都不得為定，因她丈夫已經把這兩樣廢了；耶和華也必赦免她。But if her husband nullifies them on the day he hears of them, then nothing that came from her lips, whether her vows or pledges, shall stand. Her husband has nullified them, and the LORD will absolve her.
13凡她所許的願和刻苦約束自己所起的誓，她丈夫可以堅定，也可以廢去。Her husband may confirm or nullify any vow or any sworn pledge to deny herself.
14倘若她丈夫天天向她默默不言，就算是堅定她所許的願和約束自己的話；因丈夫聽見的日子向她默默不言，就使這兩樣堅定。But if her husband says nothing to her from day to day, then he confirms all the vows and pledges that bind her. He has confirmed them, because he said nothing to her on the day he heard about them.
15但她丈夫聽見以後，若使這兩樣全廢了，就要。」But if he nullifies them after he hears of them, then he will bear her iniquity.”
16這是丈夫待妻子，父親待女兒，女兒年幼、還在父家，耶和華所吩咐摩西的律例。These are the statutes that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the relationship between a man and his wife, and between a father and a young daughter still in his home.
