1住南地的迦南人亞拉得王，聽說以色列人從亞他林路來，就和以色列人爭戰，擄了他們幾個人。When the Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming along the road to Atharim, he attacked Israel and captured some prisoners.
2以色列人向耶和華發願說：「你若將這民交付我手，我就把他們的城邑盡行毀滅。」So Israel made a vow to the LORD: “If You will deliver this people into our hands, we will devote their cities to destruction.”
3耶和華應允了以色列人，把迦南人交付他們，他們就把迦南人和迦南人的城邑盡行毀滅。那地方的名便叫（就是毀滅的意思）。And the LORD heard Israel’s plea and delivered up the Canaanites. Israel devoted them and their cities to destruction; so they named the place Hormah.
4他們從何珥山起行，往紅海那條路走，要繞過以東地。百姓因這路難行，心中甚是，Then they set out from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, in order to bypass the land of Edom. But the people grew impatient on the journey
5就 神和摩西說：「你們為甚麼把我們從埃及領出來、使我們死在曠野呢？這裡沒有糧，沒有水，我們的心厭惡這淡薄的食物。」and spoke against God and against Moses: “Why have you led us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”
6於是耶和華使進入百姓中間，蛇就咬他們。以色列人中死了許多。So the LORD sent venomous snakes among the people, and many of the Israelites were bitten and died.
7百姓到摩西那裡，說：「我們怨讟耶和華和你，有罪了。求你禱告耶和華，叫這些蛇離開我們。」於是摩西為百姓禱告。Then the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Intercede with the LORD so He will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses interceded for the people.
8耶和華對摩西說：「你製造一條火蛇，掛在杆子上；凡被咬的，一望這蛇，就必得活。」Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and mount it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will live.”
9摩西便製造一條，掛在杆子上；凡被蛇咬的，一望這銅蛇就活了。So Moses made a bronze snake and mounted it on a pole. If anyone who was bitten looked at the bronze snake, he would live.
10以色列人起行，安營在阿伯。Then the Israelites set out and camped at Oboth.
11又從阿伯起行，安營在以耶‧亞巴琳，與摩押相對的曠野，向日出之地。They journeyed from Oboth and camped at Iye-abarim in the wilderness opposite Moab to the east.
12從那裡起行，安營在撒烈谷。From there they set out and camped in the Valley of Zered.
13從那裡起行，安營在亞嫩河那邊。這亞嫩河是在曠野，從亞摩利的境界流出來的；原來亞嫩河是摩押的邊界，在摩押和亞摩利人搭界的地方。From there they moved on and camped on the other side of the Arnon, in the wilderness that extends into the Amorite territory. Now the Arnon is the border between the Moabites and the Amorites.
14所以上說：「蘇法的哇哈伯與亞嫩河的谷，Therefore it is stated in the Book of the Wars of the LORD: “Waheb in Suphah and the wadis of the Arnon,
15並向亞珥城眾谷的下坡，是靠近摩押的境界。」even the slopes of the wadis that extend to the site of Ar and lie along the border of Moab.”
16以色列人從那裡起行，到了比珥（就是井的意思）。從前耶和華吩咐摩西說：「招聚百姓，我好給他們水喝」，說的就是這井。From there they went on to Beer, the well where the LORD said to Moses, “Gather the people so that I may give them water.”
17當時，以色列人唱歌說：井啊，湧上水來！你們要向這井歌唱。Then Israel sang this song: “Spring up, O well, all of you sing to it!
18這井是首領和民中的尊貴人用用杖所挖所掘的。以色列人從曠野往瑪他拿去，The princes dug the well; the nobles of the people hollowed it out with their scepters and with their staffs.” From the wilderness the Israelites went on to Mattanah,
19從瑪他拿到拿哈列，從拿哈列到巴末，and from Mattanah to Nahaliel, and from Nahaliel to Bamoth,
20從巴末到摩押地的谷，又到那下望曠野之毘斯迦的山頂。and from Bamoth to the valley in Moab where the top of Pisgah overlooks the wasteland.
21以色列人差遣使者去見的王西宏，說：Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
22「求你容我們從你的地經過；我們不偏入田間和葡萄園，也不喝井裡的水，只走大道（原文是王道），直到過了你的境界。」“Let us pass through your land. We will not turn aside into any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s Highway until we have passed through your territory.”
23西宏不容以色列人從他的境界經過，就招聚他的眾民出到曠野，要攻擊以色列人，到了雅雜與以色列人爭戰。But Sihon would not let Israel pass through his territory. Instead, he gathered his whole army and went out to confront Israel in the wilderness. When he came to Jahaz, he fought against Israel.
24以色列人用刀殺了他，得了他的地，從亞嫩河到雅博河，直到亞捫人的境界，因為亞捫人的境界多有。And Israel put him to the sword and took possession of his land, from the Arnon to the Jabbok—but only up to the border of the Ammonites, because it was fortified.
25以色列人奪取這一切的城邑，也住亞摩利人的城邑，就是希實本與希實本的一切。Israel captured all the cities of the Amorites and occupied them, including Heshbon and all its villages.
26這是亞摩利王西宏的京城；西宏曾與摩押的先王爭戰，從他手中奪取了全地，直到亞嫩河。Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and taken all his land as far as the Arnon.
27所以那些作詩歌的說：你們來到希實本；願西宏的城被修造，被建立。That is why the poets say: “Come to Heshbon, let it be rebuilt; let the city of Sihon be restored.
28因為有火從希實本發出，有火焰出於西宏的城，燒盡摩押的亞珥和亞嫩河的祭司（祭司原文是主）。For a fire went out from Heshbon, a blaze from the city of Sihon. It consumed Ar of Moab, the rulers of Arnon’s heights.
29摩押啊，你有禍了！的民哪，你們滅亡了！基抹的男子逃奔，女子被擄，交付亞摩利的王西宏。Woe to you, O Moab! You are destroyed, O people of Chemosh! He gave up his sons as refugees, and his daughters into captivity to Sihon king of the Amorites.
30我們射了他們；希實本直到底本盡皆毀滅。我們使地變成荒場，直到挪法；這挪法直延到米底巴。But we have overthrown them; Heshbon is destroyed as far as Dibon. We demolished them as far as Nophah, which reaches to Medeba.”
31這樣，以色列人就住在亞摩利人之地。So Israel lived in the land of the Amorites.
32摩西打發人去窺探雅謝，以色列人就佔了雅謝的鎮市，趕出那裡的亞摩利人。After Moses had sent spies to Jazer, Israel captured its villages and drove out the Amorites who were there.
33以色列人轉回，向去。巴珊王噩和他的眾民都出來，在以得來與他們交戰。Then they turned and went up the road to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan and his whole army came out to meet them in battle at Edrei.
34耶和華對摩西說：「不要怕他！因我已將他和他的眾民，並他的地，都交在你手中；你要待他像從前待住希實本的亞摩利王西宏一般。」But the LORD said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.”
35於是他們殺了他和他的眾子，並他的眾民，沒有留下一個，就得了他的地。So they struck down Og, along with his sons and his whole army, until no remnant was left. And they took possession of his land.
