1那時，又有許多人聚集，並沒有甚麼吃的。耶穌叫門徒來，說：In those days the crowd once again became very large, and they had nothing to eat. Jesus called the disciples to Him and said,
2「我憐憫這眾人；因為他們同我在這裡已經三天，也沒有吃的了。“I have compassion for this crowd, because they have already been with Me three days and have nothing to eat.
3我若打發他們餓著回家，就必在路上困乏，因為其中有從遠處來的。」If I send them home hungry, they will faint along the way. For some of them have come a great distance.”
4門徒回答說：「在這野地，從哪裡能得餅，叫這些人吃飽呢？」His disciples replied, “Where in this desolate place could anyone find enough bread to feed all these people?”
5耶穌問他們說：「你們有多少餅？」他們說：「七個。」“How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked. “Seven,” they replied.
6他吩咐眾人坐在地上，就拿著這七個餅祝謝了，擘開，遞給門徒，叫他們擺開，門徒就擺在眾人面前。And He instructed the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then He took the seven loaves, gave thanks and broke them, and gave them to His disciples to set before the people. And they distributed them to the crowd.
7又有幾條小魚；耶穌祝了福，就吩咐也擺在眾人面前。They also had a few small fish, and Jesus blessed them and ordered that these be set before them as well.
8眾人都吃，並且吃飽了，收拾剩下的零碎，有七。The people ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.
9人數約有四千。耶穌打發他們走了，And about four thousand men were present. And when Jesus had dismissed the crowd,
10隨即同門徒上船，來到境內。He immediately got into the boat with His disciples and went to the district of Dalmanutha.
11法利賽人出來盤問耶穌，求他從天上顯個神蹟給他們看，想要試探他。Then the Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus, testing Him by demanding from Him a sign from heaven.
12耶穌心裡，說：「這世代為甚麼求神蹟呢？我實在告訴你們，沒有神蹟給這世代看。」Jesus sighed deeply in His spirit and said, “Why does this generation demand a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
13他就離開他們，又上船往海那邊去了。And He left them, got back into the boat, and crossed to the other side.
14門徒忘了帶餅；在船上除了一個餅，沒有別的食物。Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat.
15耶穌囑咐他們說：「你們要謹慎，防備法利賽人的和的酵。」“Watch out!” He cautioned them. “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of Herod.”
16他們彼此議論說：「這是因為我們沒有餅吧。」So they began to discuss with one another the fact that they had no bread.
17耶穌看出來，就說：「你們為甚麼因為沒有餅就議論呢？你們還不，還不明白嗎？你們的心還是嗎？Aware of their conversation, Jesus asked them, “Why are you debating about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Do you have such hard hearts?
18你們有眼睛，看不見嗎？有耳朵，聽不見嗎？也不記得嗎？‘Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear?’ And do you not remember?
19我擘開那五個餅分給五千人，你們收拾的零碎裝滿了多少籃子呢？」他們說：「十二個。」When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of broken pieces did you collect?” “Twelve,” they answered.
20「又擘開那七個餅分給四千人，你們收拾的零碎裝滿了多少筐子呢？」他們說：「七個。」“And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls of broken pieces did you collect?” “Seven,” they said.
21耶穌說：「你們還是不明白嗎？」Then He asked them, “Do you still not understand?”
22他們來到，有人帶一個瞎子來，求耶穌摸他。When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
23耶穌拉著瞎子的手，領他到村外，就吐唾沫在他眼睛上，按手在他身上，問他說：「你看見甚麼了？」So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village. Then He spit on the man’s eyes and placed His hands on him. “Can you see anything?” He asked.
24他就抬頭一看，說：「我看見人了；他們好像樹木，並且行走。」The man looked up and said, “I can see the people, but they look like trees walking around.”
25隨後又按手在他眼睛上，他一看，就復了原，樣樣都看得清楚了。Once again Jesus placed His hands on the man’s eyes, and when he opened them his sight was restored, and he could see everything clearly.
26耶穌打發他回家，說：「連這村子你也不要進去。」Jesus sent him home and said, “Do not go back into the village.”
27耶穌和門徒出去，往•腓立比村莊去；在路上問門徒說：「人說我是誰？」Then Jesus and His disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way, He questioned His disciples: “Who do people say I am?”
28他們說：「有人說是施洗的約翰；有人說是；又有人說是先知裡的一位。」They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.”
29又問他們說：「你們說我是誰？」彼得回答說：「你是。」“But what about you?” Jesus asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”
30耶穌就他們，不要告訴人。And Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about Him.
31從此，他教訓他們說：「人子受許多的苦，被長老、，和文士棄絕，並且被殺，過三天復活。」Then He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and that He must be killed and after three days rise again.
32耶穌明明地說這話，彼得就拉著他，勸他。He spoke this message quite frankly, and Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.
33耶穌轉過來，看著門徒，就責備彼得說：「撒但，退我後邊去吧！因為你不 神的意思，只體貼人的意思。」But Jesus, turning and looking at His disciples, rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”
34於是叫眾人和門徒來，對他們說：「若有人要跟從我，就當，背起他的十字架來跟從我。Then Jesus called the crowd to Him along with His disciples, and He told them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.
35因為，凡要救自己生命（或譯：靈魂；下同）的，必喪掉生命；凡為我和福音喪掉生命的，必救了生命。For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and for the gospel will save it.
36人就是賺得全世界，自己的生命，有甚麼益處呢？What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
37人還能拿甚麼換生命呢？Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
38凡在這罪惡的世代，把我和我的道當作可恥的，人子在他父的榮耀裡，同聖天使降臨的時候，也要把那人當作可恥的。」If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.”
