1他們來到海那邊的地方。On the other side of the sea, they arrived in the region of the Gerasenes.
2耶穌一下船，就有一個被污鬼附著的人從墳塋裡出來迎著他。As soon as Jesus got out of the boat, He was met by a man with an unclean spirit, who was coming from the tombs.
3那人常住在裡，沒有人能捆住他，就是用鐵鍊也不能；This man had been living in the tombs and could no longer be restrained, even with chains.
4因為人屢次用和鐵鍊捆鎖他，鐵鍊竟被他掙斷了，腳鐐也被他弄碎了；總沒有人能制伏他。Though he was often bound with chains and shackles, he had broken the chains and shattered the shackles. Now there was no one with the strength to subdue him.
5他晝夜常在墳塋裡和山中喊叫，又用石頭砍自己。Night and day in the tombs and in the mountains he kept crying out and cutting himself with stones.
6他遠遠地看見耶穌，就跑過去拜他，When the man saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees before Him.
7大聲呼叫說：「至高 神的兒子耶穌，我與你有甚麼相干？我指著 神懇求你，不要叫我受苦！」And he shouted in a loud voice, “What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You before God not to torture me!”
8是因耶穌曾吩咐他說：「污鬼啊，從這人身上出來吧！」For Jesus had already declared, “Come out of this man, you unclean spirit!”
9耶穌問他說：「你名叫甚麼？」回答說：「我名叫『』，因為我們多的緣故」；“What is your name?” Jesus asked. “My name is Legion,” he replied, “for we are many.”
10就再三地求耶穌，不要叫他們離開那地方。And he begged Jesus repeatedly not to send them out of that region.
11在那裡山坡上，有吃食；There on the nearby hillside a large herd of pigs was feeding.
12鬼就央求耶穌說：「求你打發我們往豬群裡，附著豬去。」So the demons begged Jesus, “Send us to the pigs, so that we may enter them.”
13耶穌准了他們，污鬼就出來，進入豬裡去。於是那群豬，投在海裡，淹死了。豬的數目約有二千。He gave them permission, and the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs, and the herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the water.
14放豬的就逃跑了，去告訴城裡和鄉下的人。眾人就來，要看是甚麼事。Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened.
15他們來到耶穌那裡，看見那被鬼附著的人，就是從前被群鬼所附的，坐著，穿上衣服，，他們就害怕。When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons sitting there, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
16看見這事的，便將鬼附之人所遇見的和那群豬的事都告訴了眾人；Those who had seen it described what had happened to the demon-possessed man and also to the pigs.
17眾人就央求耶穌離開他們的。And the people began to beg Jesus to leave their region.
18耶穌上船的時候，那從前被鬼附著的人懇求和耶穌同在。As He was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed by the demons begged to go with Him.
19耶穌不許，卻對他說：「你回家去，到你的親屬那裡，將主為你所做的是何等大的事，是怎樣憐憫你，都告訴他們。」But Jesus would not allow him. “Go home to your own people,” He said, “and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and what mercy He has shown you.”
20那人就走了，在傳揚耶穌為他做了何等大的事，眾人就都希奇。So the man went away and began to proclaim throughout the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And everyone was amazed.
21耶穌坐船又渡到那邊去，就有許多人到他那裡聚集；他正在海邊上。When Jesus had again crossed by boat to the other side, a large crowd gathered around Him beside the sea.
22有一個人，名叫睚魯，來見耶穌，就俯伏在他腳前，A synagogue leader named Jairus arrived, and seeing Jesus, he fell at His feet
23再三地求他，說：「我的小女兒快要死了，求你去按手在她身上，使她痊癒，得以活了。」and pleaded with Him urgently, “My little daughter is near death. Please come and place Your hands on her, so that she will be healed and live.”
24耶穌就和他同去。有許多人跟隨擁擠他。So Jesus went with him, and a large crowd followed and pressed around Him.
25有一個女人，患了十二年的，And a woman was there who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years.
26在好些醫生手裡受了許多的苦，又花盡了她所有的，一點也不見好，反倒更重了。She had borne much agony under the care of many physicians and had spent all she had, but to no avail. Instead, her condition had only grown worse.
27她聽見耶穌的事，就從後頭來，雜在眾人中間，摸耶穌的衣裳，When the woman heard about Jesus, she came up through the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak.
28意思說：「我只摸他的衣裳，就必痊癒。」For she kept saying, “If only I touch His garments, I will be healed.”
29於是她血漏的立刻乾了；她便覺得身上的災病好了。Immediately her bleeding stopped, and she sensed in her body that she was healed of her affliction.
30耶穌心裡覺得有能力從自己身上出去，就在眾人中間轉過來，說：「誰摸我的衣裳？」At once Jesus was aware that power had gone out from Him. Turning to the crowd, He asked, “Who touched My garments?”
31門徒對他說：「你看眾人擁擠你，還說『誰摸我』嗎？」His disciples answered, “You can see the crowd pressing in on You, and yet You ask, ‘Who touched Me?’”
32耶穌周圍觀看，要見做這事的女人。But He kept looking around to see who had done this.
33那女人知道在自己身上所成的事，就，來俯伏在耶穌跟前，將實情全告訴他。Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him trembling in fear, and she told Him the whole truth.
34耶穌對她說：「女兒，，平平安安地回去吧！你的災病痊癒了。」“Daughter,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be free of your affliction.”
35還說話的時候，有人從管會堂的家裡來，說：「你的女兒死了，何必還呢？」While He was still speaking, messengers from the house of Jairus arrived and said, “Your daughter is dead; why bother the Teacher anymore?”
36耶穌聽見所說的話，就對管會堂的說：「不要怕，只要信！」But Jesus overheard their conversation and said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid; just believe.”
37於是帶著同去，不許別人跟隨他。And He did not allow anyone to accompany Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James.
38他們來到管會堂的家裡；耶穌看見那裡，並有人大大地，When they arrived at the house of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw the commotion and the people weeping and wailing loudly.
39進到裡面，就對他們說：「為甚麼亂嚷哭泣呢？孩子不是死了，是睡著了。」He went inside and asked, “Why all this commotion and weeping? The child is not dead, but asleep.”
40他們就耶穌。耶穌把他們都出去，就帶著孩子的父母和跟隨的人進了孩子所在的地方，And they laughed at Him. After He had put them all outside, He took the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and went in to see the child.
41就拉著孩子的手，對她說：「！」（翻出來就是說：「閨女，我吩咐你起來！」）Taking her by the hand, Jesus said, “Talitha koum!” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”
42那閨女立時起來走。他們就大大地驚奇；閨女已經十二歲了。Immediately the girl got up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). And at once they were utterly astounded.
43耶穌切切地囑咐他們，不要叫人知道這事，又吩咐給她東西吃。Then Jesus gave strict orders that no one should know about this, and He told them to give her something to eat.
