1約拿在魚腹中禱告耶和華─他的 神，From inside the fish, Jonah prayed to the LORD his God,
2說：我遭遇患難求告耶和華，你就應允我；從陰間的深處呼求，你就俯聽我的聲音。saying: “In my distress I called to the LORD, and He answered me. From the belly of Sheol I called for help, and You heard my voice.
3你將我投下深淵，就是海的深處；大水環繞我，你的波浪洪濤都漫過我身。For You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the current swirled about me; all Your breakers and waves swept over me.
4我說：我從你眼前雖被驅逐，我仍要仰望你的聖殿。At this, I said, ‘I have been banished from Your sight; yet I will look once more toward Your holy temple.’
5諸水環繞我，幾乎淹沒我；深淵圍住我；海草纏繞我的頭。The waters engulfed me to take my life; the watery depths closed around me; the seaweed wrapped around my head.
6我下到，地的門將我永遠關住。耶和華─我的 神啊，你卻將我的性命從坑中救出來。To the roots of the mountains I descended; the earth beneath me barred me in forever! But You raised my life from the pit, O LORD my God!
7我心在我裡面發昏的時候，我就想念耶和華。我的禱告進入你的聖殿，達到你的面前。As my life was fading away, I remembered the LORD. My prayer went up to You, to Your holy temple.
8那信奉的人，離棄憐愛他們的主；Those who cling to worthless idols forsake His loving devotion.
9但我必用感謝的聲音獻祭與你。我所許的願，我必償還。救恩出於耶和華。But I, with the voice of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to You. I will fulfill what I have vowed. Salvation is from the LORD!”
10耶和華吩咐魚，魚就把約拿吐在旱地上。And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
