1「你們心裡不要憂愁；你們信 神，也當信我。“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe in Me as well.
2在我父的家裡有許多；若是沒有，我就早已告訴你們了。我去原是為你們預備地方去。In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
3我若去為你們預備了地方，就必再來接你們到我那裡去，我在哪裡，叫你們也在那裡。And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am.
4我往哪裡去，你們知道；那條路，你們也知道（有古卷：我往哪裡去，你們知道那條路）。」You know the way to the place where I am going.”
5對他說：「主啊，我們不知道你往哪裡去，怎麼知道那條路呢？」“Lord,” said Thomas, “we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?”
6耶穌說：「我就是道路、真理、生命；若不藉著我，沒有人能到父那裡去。Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7你們若認識我，也就認識我的父。從今以後，你們認識他，並且已經看見他。」If you had known Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”
8對他說：「求主將父顯給我們看，我們就知足了。」Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
9耶穌對他說：「腓力，我與你們同在這樣長久，你還不認識我嗎？人看見了我，就是看見了父；你怎麼說『將父顯給我們看』呢？Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10我在父裡面，父在我裡面，你不信嗎？我對你們所說的話，不是憑著自己說的，乃是住在我裡面的父做他自己的事。Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, performing His works.
11你們當信我，我在父裡面，父在我裡面；即或不信，也當因我所做的事信我。Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me—or at least believe on account of the works themselves.
12我實實在在地告訴你們，我所做的事，信我的人也要做，並且要做比這更大的事，因為我往父那裡去。Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever believes in Me will also do the works that I am doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
13你們無論求甚麼，我必成就，叫父因兒子得榮耀。And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14你們若奉我的名求甚麼，我必成就。」If you ask Me for anything in My name, I will do it.
15「你們若愛我，就必遵守我的命令。If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
16我要求父，父就另外賜給你們一位（或譯：訓慰師；下同），叫他永遠與你們同在，And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Advocate to be with you forever—
17就是真理的聖靈，乃世人不能接受的；因為不見他，也不認識他。你們卻認識他，因他常與你們同在，也要在你們裡面。the Spirit of truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you.
18我不撇下你們為，我必到你們這裡來。I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
19還有不多的時候，世人不再看見我，你們卻看見我；因為我活著，你們也要活著。In a little while the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you also will live.
20到那日，你們就知道我在父裡面，你們在我裡面，我也在你們裡面。On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.
21有了我的命令又遵守的，這人就是愛我的；愛我的必蒙我父愛他，我也要愛他，並且要向他顯現。」Whoever has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me. The one who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him.”
22（不是加略人猶大）問耶穌說：「主啊，為甚麼要向我們顯現，不向世人顯現呢？」Judas (not Iscariot) asked Him, “Lord, why are You going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?”
23耶穌回答說：「人若愛我，就必遵守我的道；我父也必愛他，並且我們要到他那裡去，與他同住。Jesus replied, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
24不愛我的人就不遵守我的道。你們所聽見的道不是我的，乃是差我來之父的道。Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words. The word that you hear is not My own, but it is from the Father who sent Me.
25「我還與你們同住的時候，已將這些話對你們說了。All this I have spoken to you while I am still with you.
26但保惠師，就是父因我的名所要差來的聖靈，他要將一切的事你們，並且要叫你們想起我對你們所說的一切話。But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.
27我留下給你們；我將我的平安賜給你們。我所賜的，不像世人所賜的。你們心裡不要憂愁，也不要。Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.
28你們聽見我對你們說了，我去還要到你們這裡來。你們若愛我，因我到父那裡去，就必喜樂，因為父是比我大的。You heard Me say, ‘I am going away, and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.
29現在事情還沒有成就，我預先告訴你們，叫你們到事情成就的時候就可以信。And now I have told you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe.
30以後我不再和你們多說話，因為這世界的王將到。他在我裡面是；I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming, and he has no claim on Me.
31但要叫世人知道我愛父，並且父怎樣吩咐我，我就怎樣行。起來，我們走吧！」But I do exactly what the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Get up! Let us go on from here.
