耶利米書 36

¹猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬第四年，耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD:

²「你取一書卷，將我對你說攻擊以色列和猶大，並各國的一切話，從我對你說話的那日，就是從約西亞的日子起直到今日，都寫在其上。“Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you during the reign of Josiah until today.

³或者猶大家聽見我想要降與他們的一切災禍，各人就回頭，離開惡道，我好赦免他們的罪孽和罪惡。」Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about all the calamity I plan to bring upon them, each of them will turn from his wicked way. Then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin.”

⁴所以，耶利米召了尼利亞的兒子巴錄來；巴錄就從耶利米口中，將耶和華對耶利米所說的一切話寫在書卷上。So Jeremiah called Baruch son of Neriah, and at the dictation of Jeremiah, Baruch wrote on a scroll all the words that the LORD had spoken to Jeremiah.

⁵耶利米吩咐巴錄說：「我被拘管，不能進耶和華的殿。Then Jeremiah commanded Baruch, “I am restricted; I cannot enter the house of the LORD;

⁶所以你要去趁禁食的日子，在耶和華殿中將耶和華的話，就是你從我口中所寫在書卷上的話，念給百姓和一切從猶大城邑出來的人聽。so you are to go to the house of the LORD on a day of fasting, and in the hearing of the people you are to read the words of the LORD from the scroll you have written at my dictation. Read them in the hearing of all the people of Judah who are coming from their cities.

⁷或者他們在耶和華面前懇求各人回頭，離開惡道，因為耶和華向這百姓所說要發的怒氣和忿怒是大的。」Perhaps they will bring their petition before the LORD, and each one will turn from his wicked way; for great are the anger and fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.”

⁸尼利亞的兒子巴錄就照先知耶利米一切所吩咐的去行，在耶和華的殿中從書上念耶和華的話。So Baruch son of Neriah did everything that Jeremiah the prophet had commanded him. In the house of the LORD he read the words of the LORD from the scroll.

⁹猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬第五年九月，耶路撒冷的眾民和那從猶大城邑來到耶路撒冷的眾民，在耶和華面前宣告禁食的日子，Now in the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a fast before the LORD was proclaimed to all the people of Jerusalem and all who had come there from the cities of Judah.

¹⁰巴錄就在耶和華殿的上院，耶和華殿的新門口，沙番的兒子文士基瑪利雅的屋內，念書上耶利米的話給眾民聽。From the chamber of Gemariah son of Shaphan the scribe, which was in the upper courtyard at the opening of the New Gate of the house of the LORD, Baruch read from the scroll the words of Jeremiah in the hearing of all the people.

¹¹沙番的孫子、基瑪利雅的兒子米該亞聽見書上耶和華的一切話，When Micaiah son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, heard all the words of the LORD from the scroll,

¹²他就下到王宮，進入文士的屋子。眾首領，就是文士以利沙瑪、示瑪雅的兒子第萊雅、亞革波的兒子以利拿單、沙番的兒子基瑪利雅、哈拿尼雅的兒子西底家，和其餘的首領都坐在那裡。he went down to the scribe’s chamber in the king’s palace, where all the officials were sitting: Elishama the scribe, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Achbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.

¹³於是米該亞對他們述說他所聽見的一切話，就是巴錄向百姓念那書的時候所聽見的。And Micaiah reported to them all the words he had heard Baruch read from the scroll in the hearing of the people.

¹⁴眾首領就打發古示的曾孫、示利米雅的孫子、尼探雅的兒子猶底到巴錄那裡，對他說：「你將所念給百姓聽的書卷拿在手中到我們這裡來。」尼利亞的兒子巴錄就手拿書卷來到他們那裡。Then all the officials sent word to Baruch through Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, saying, “Bring the scroll that you read in the hearing of the people, and come here.” So Baruch son of Neriah took the scroll and went to them.

¹⁵他們對他說：「請你坐下，念給我們聽。」巴錄就念給他們聽。“Please sit down,” they said, “and read it in our hearing.” So Baruch read it in their hearing.

¹⁶他們聽見這一切話就害怕，面面相觀，對巴錄說：「我們必須將這一切話告訴王。」When they had heard all these words, they turned to one another in fear and said to Baruch, “Surely we must report all these words to the king.”

¹⁷他們問巴錄說：「請你告訴我們，你怎樣從他口中寫這一切話呢？」“Tell us now,” they asked Baruch, “how did you write all these words? Was it at Jeremiah’s dictation?”

¹⁸巴錄回答說：「他用口向我說這一切話，我就用筆墨寫在書上。」“It was at his dictation,” Baruch replied. “He recited all these words to me and I wrote them in ink on the scroll.”

¹⁹眾首領對巴錄說：「你和耶利米要去藏起來，不可叫人知道你們在哪裡。」Then the officials said to Baruch, “You and Jeremiah must hide yourselves and tell no one where you are.”

²⁰眾首領進院見王，卻先把書卷存在文士以利沙瑪的屋內，以後將這一切話說給王聽。So the officials went to the king in the courtyard. And having stored the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, they reported everything to the king.

²¹王就打發猶底去拿這書卷來，他便從文士以利沙瑪的屋內取來，念給王和王左右侍立的眾首領聽。Then the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and he took it from the chamber of Elishama the scribe. And Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king and all the officials who were standing beside him.

²²那時正是九月，王坐在過冬的房屋裡，王的前面火盆中有燒著的火。Since it was the ninth month, the king was sitting in his winter quarters with a fire burning before him.

²³猶底念了三四篇（或譯：行），王就用文士的刀將書卷割破，扔在火盆中，直到全卷在火中燒盡了。And as soon as Jehudi had read three or four columns, Jehoiakim would cut them off with a scribe’s knife and throw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll had been consumed by the fire.

²⁴王和聽見這一切話的臣僕都不懼怕，也不撕裂衣服。Yet in hearing all these words, the king and his servants did not become frightened or tear their garments.

²⁵以利拿單和第萊雅，並基瑪利雅懇求王不要燒這書卷，他卻不聽。Even though Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah urged the king not to burn the scroll, he would not listen to them.

²⁶王就吩咐哈米勒的兒子（或譯：王的兒子）耶拉篾和亞斯列的兒子西萊雅，並亞伯疊的兒子示利米雅，去捉拿文士巴錄和先知耶利米。耶和華卻將他們隱藏。Instead, the king commanded Jerahmeel, a son of the king, as well as Seraiah son of Azriel and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet. But the LORD had hidden them.

²⁷王燒了書卷（其上有巴錄從耶利米口中所寫的話）以後，耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：After the king had burned the scroll containing the words that Baruch had written at Jeremiah’s dictation, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

²⁸「你再取一卷，將猶大王約雅敬所燒第一卷上的一切話寫在其上。“Take another scroll and rewrite on it the very words that were on the original scroll, which Jehoiakim king of Judah has burned.

²⁹論到猶大王約雅敬你要說，耶和華如此說：你燒了書卷，說：『你為甚麼在其上寫著，說巴比倫王必要來毀滅這地，使這地上絕了人民牲畜呢？』You are to proclaim concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah that this is what the LORD says: You have burned the scroll and said, ‘Why have you written on it that the king of Babylon would surely come and destroy this land and deprive it of man and beast?’

³⁰所以耶和華論到猶大王約雅敬說：他後裔中必沒有人坐在大衛的寶座上；他的屍首必被拋棄，白日受炎熱，黑夜受寒霜。Therefore this is what the LORD says about Jehoiakim king of Judah: He will have no one to sit on David’s throne, and his body will be thrown out and exposed to heat by day and frost by night.

³¹我必因他和他後裔，並他臣僕的罪孽刑罰他們。我要使我所說的一切災禍臨到他們和耶路撒冷的居民，並猶大人；只是他們不聽。」I will punish him and his descendants and servants for their iniquity. I will bring on them, on the residents of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the calamity about which I warned them but they did not listen.”

³²於是，耶利米又取一書卷交給尼利亞的兒子文士巴錄，他就從耶利米的口中寫了猶大王約雅敬所燒前卷上的一切話，另外又添了許多相彷的話。Then Jeremiah took another scroll and gave it to the scribe Baruch son of Neriah, and at Jeremiah’s dictation he wrote on it all the words of the scroll that Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire. And many similar words were added to them.
