耶穌比一切都更美，因此要持守信心，不要退後。
希伯來書的讀者可能因為受逼迫，想要回到舊有的猶太教。作者一步步說明耶穌比天使、摩西和舊約的祭司都更超越，祂一次獻上自己，成就了永遠的救贖。因此信徒不需要再靠舊約的獻祭，而要坦然無懼地來到神面前。第 11 章列出舊約許多信心偉人的榜樣，鼓勵讀者存心忍耐，仰望耶穌奔跑天路。

1神既在古時藉著眾先知地列祖，On many past occasions and in many different ways, God spoke to our fathers through the prophets.
2就在這藉著他兒子曉諭我們；又早已立他為承受萬有的，也曾藉著他創造諸世界。But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.
3他是 神榮耀所發的，是 神，常用他權能的命令萬有。他洗淨了人的罪，就坐在高天至大者的。The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
4他所承受的名，既比天使的名更尊貴，就遠超過天使。So He became as far superior to the angels as the name He has inherited is excellent beyond theirs.
5所有的， 神從來對哪一個說：你是我的兒子，我今日生你？又指著哪一個說：我要作他的父，他要作我的子？For to which of the angels did God ever say: “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father”? Or again: “I will be His Father, and He will be My Son”?
6再者， 神使到世上來的時候（或譯： 神再使長子到世上來的時候），就說： 神的使者都要拜他。And again, when God brings His firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all God’s angels worship Him.”
7論到使者，又說： 神以風為使者，以火焰為；Now about the angels He says: “He makes His angels winds, His servants flames of fire.”
8論到子卻說： 神啊，你的寶座是永永遠遠的；你的是正直的。But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever, and justice is the scepter of Your kingdom.
9你喜愛公義，恨惡罪惡；所以 神，就是你的 神，用膏你，勝過膏你的同伴；You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You above Your companions with the oil of joy.”
10又說：主啊，你起初立了地的根基；天也是你手所造的。And: “In the beginning, O Lord, You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
11天地都要，你卻要長存。天地都要像衣服漸漸舊了；They will perish, but You remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
12你要將天地捲起來，像一件外衣，天地就都改變了。惟有你永不改變；你的年數沒有窮盡。You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed; but You remain the same, and Your years will never end.”
13所有的天使， 神從來對哪一個說：你坐在我的右邊，等我使你仇敵作你的？Yet to which of the angels did God ever say: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet”?
14天使豈不都是服役的靈、奉差遣為那將要承受救恩的人嗎？Are not the angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
