1以色列帶著一切所有的，起身來到別是巴，就獻祭給他父親以撒的 神。So Israel set out with all that he had, and when he came to Beersheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
2夜間， 神在異象中對以色列說：「雅各！雅各！」他說：「我在這裡。」And that night God spoke to Israel in a vision: “Jacob, Jacob!” He said. “Here I am,” replied Jacob.
3神說：「我是 神，就是你父親的 神。你下埃及去不要害怕，因為我必使你在那裡成為大族。“I am God,” He said, “the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you into a great nation there.
4我要和你同下埃及去，也必定帶你上來；約瑟必給你。」I will go down with you to Egypt, and I will surely bring you back. And Joseph’s own hands will close your eyes.”
5雅各就從起行。以色列的兒子們使他們的父親雅各和他們的妻子、兒女都坐在法老為雅各送來的車上。Then Jacob departed from Beersheba, and the sons of Israel took their father Jacob in the wagons Pharaoh had sent to carry him, along with their children and wives.
6他們又帶著迦南地所得的牲畜、貨財來到埃及。雅各和他的一切子孫都一同來了。They also took the livestock and possessions they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and Jacob and all his offspring went to Egypt.
7雅各把他的兒子、孫子、女兒、孫女，並他的子子孫孫，一同帶到埃及。Jacob took with him to Egypt his sons and grandsons, and his daughters and granddaughters—all his offspring.
8來到埃及的以色列人名字記在下面。雅各和他的兒孫：雅各的長子是流便。Now these are the names of the sons of Israel (Jacob and his descendants) who went to Egypt: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn.
9流便的兒子是哈諾、法路、希斯倫、迦米。The sons of Reuben: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
10西緬的兒子是耶母利、雅憫、阿轄、雅斤、瑣轄，還有迦南女子所生的掃羅。The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman.
11利未的兒子是革順、哥轄、米拉利。The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
12猶大的兒子是珥、俄南、示拉、法勒斯、謝拉；惟有珥與俄南死在迦南地。法勒斯的兒子是希斯崙、哈母勒。The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.
13以薩迦的兒子是陀拉、普瓦、約伯、伸崙。The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puvah, Job, and Shimron.
14西布倫的兒子是西烈、以倫、雅利。The sons of Zebulun: Sered, Elon, and Jahleel.
15這是利亞在巴旦‧亞蘭給雅各所生的兒子，還有女兒底拿。兒孫共三十三人。These are the sons of Leah born to Jacob in Paddan-aram, in addition to his daughter Dinah. The total number of sons and daughters was thirty-three.
16迦得的兒子是洗非芸、哈基、書尼、以斯本、以利、亞羅底、亞列利。The sons of Gad: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.
17亞設的兒子是音拿、亦施瓦、亦施韋、比利亞，還有他們的妹子西拉。比利亞的兒子是希別、瑪結。The children of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah. The sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.
18這是拉班給他女兒利亞的婢女悉帕從雅各所生的兒孫，共有十六人。These are the sons of Jacob born to Zilpah—whom Laban gave to his daughter Leah—sixteen in all.
19雅各之妻拉結的兒子是約瑟和便雅憫。The sons of Jacob’s wife Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.
20約瑟在埃及地生了瑪拿西和以法蓮，就是安城的祭司波提非拉的女兒亞西納給約瑟生的。Manasseh and Ephraim were born to Joseph in the land of Egypt by Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On.
21便雅憫的兒子是比拉、比結、亞實別、基拉、乃幔、以希、羅實、母平、戶平、亞勒。The sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.
22這是拉結給雅各所生的兒孫，共有十四人。These are the sons of Rachel born to Jacob—fourteen in all.
23但的兒子是戶伸。The son of Dan: Hushim.
24拿弗他利的兒子是雅薛、沽尼、耶色、示冷。The sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.
25這是拉班給他女兒拉結的婢女辟拉從雅各所生的兒孫，共有七人。These are the sons of Jacob born to Bilhah, whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel—seven in all.
26那與雅各同到埃及的，除了他兒婦之外，凡從他所生的，共有六十六人。All those belonging to Jacob who came to Egypt—his direct descendants, besides the wives of Jacob’s sons—numbered sixty-six persons.
27還有約瑟在埃及所生的兩個兒子。雅各家來到埃及的共有。And with the two sons who had been born to Joseph in Egypt, the members of Jacob’s family who went to Egypt were seventy in all.
28雅各打發猶大先去見約瑟，請派人引路往歌珊去；於是他們來到歌珊地。Now Jacob had sent Judah ahead of him to Joseph to get directions to Goshen. When Jacob’s family arrived in the land of Goshen,
29約瑟套車往歌珊去，迎接他父親以色列，及至見了面，就伏在父親的頸項上，哭了許久。Joseph prepared his chariot and went there to meet his father Israel. Joseph presented himself to him, embraced him, and wept profusely.
30以色列對約瑟說：「我既得見你的面，知道你還在，就是死我也甘心。」Then Israel said to Joseph, “Finally I can die, now that I have seen your face and know that you are still alive!”
31約瑟對他的弟兄和他父的全家說：「我要上去告訴法老，對他說：『我的弟兄和我父的全家從前在迦南地，現今都到我這裡來了。Joseph said to his brothers and to his father’s household, “I will go up and inform Pharaoh: ‘My brothers and my father’s household from the land of Canaan have come to me.
32他們本是牧羊的人，以養牲畜為業；他們把羊群牛群和一切所有的都帶來了。』The men are shepherds; they raise livestock, and they have brought their flocks and herds and all that they own.’
33等法老召你們的時候，問你們說：『你們以何事為業？』When Pharaoh summons you and asks, ‘What is your occupation?’
34你們要說：『你的僕人，從幼年直到如今，都以養牲畜為業，連我們的祖宗也都以此為業。』這樣，你們可以住在歌珊地，因為凡都被埃及人所厭惡。」you are to say, ‘Your servants have raised livestock ever since our youth—both we and our fathers.’ Then you will be allowed to settle in the land of Goshen, since all shepherds are detestable to the Egyptians.”
