1亞伯拉罕又娶了一妻，名叫基土拉。Now Abraham had taken another wife, named Keturah,
2基土拉給他生了心蘭、約珊、米但、、伊施巴，和書亞。and she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
3約珊生了示巴和底但。底但的子孫是亞書利族、利都是族，和利烏米族。Jokshan was the father of Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were the Asshurites, the Letushites, and the Leummites.
4米甸的兒子是以法、以弗、哈諾、亞比大，和以勒大。這都是基土拉的子孫。The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were descendants of Keturah.
5亞伯拉罕將一切所有的都給了以撒。Abraham left everything he owned to Isaac.
6亞伯拉罕把財物分給他的眾子，趁著自己還在世的時候打發他們離開他的兒子以撒，往東方去。But while he was still alive, Abraham gave gifts to the sons of his concubines and sent them away from his son Isaac to the land of the east.
7亞伯拉罕一生的年日是一百七十五歲。Abraham lived a total of 175 years.
8亞伯拉罕，氣絕而死，（原文是本民）那裡。And at a ripe old age he breathed his last and died, old and contented, and was gathered to his people.
9他兩個兒子以撒、以實瑪利把他埋葬在麥比拉洞裡。這洞在幔利前、赫人瑣轄的兒子以弗崙的田中，His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah near Mamre, in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite.
10就是亞伯拉罕向赫人買的那塊田。亞伯拉罕和他妻子撒拉都葬在那裡。This was the field that Abraham had bought from the Hittites. Abraham was buried there with his wife Sarah.
11亞伯拉罕死了以後， 神賜福給他的兒子以撒。以撒靠近庇耳‧拉海‧萊居住。After Abraham’s death, God blessed his son Isaac, who lived near Beer-lahai-roi.
12撒拉的使女埃及人夏甲給亞伯拉罕所生的兒子是以實瑪利。This is the account of Abraham’s son Ishmael, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s maidservant, bore to Abraham.
13以實瑪利兒子們的名字，按著他們的家譜記在下面。以實瑪利的長子是尼拜約，又有基達、亞德別、米比衫、These are the names of the sons of Ishmael in the order of their birth: Nebaioth the firstborn of Ishmael, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
14米施瑪、度瑪、瑪撒、Mishma, Dumah, Massa,
15哈大、提瑪、伊突、拿非施、基底瑪。Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
16這是以實瑪利眾子的名字，照著他們的村莊、，作了十二族的族長。These were the sons of Ishmael, and these were their names by their villages and encampments—twelve princes of their tribes.
17以實瑪利享壽一百三十七歲，氣絕而死，歸到他列祖（原文是本民）那裡。Ishmael lived a total of 137 years. Then he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.
18他子孫的住處在他眾弟兄東邊，從哈腓拉直到埃及前的書珥，正在亞述的道上。Ishmael’s descendants settled from Havilah to Shur, which is near the border of Egypt as you go toward Asshur. And they lived in hostility toward all their brothers.
19亞伯拉罕的兒子以撒的後代記在下面。亞伯拉罕生以撒。This is the account of Abraham’s son Isaac. Abraham became the father of Isaac,
20以撒娶利百加為妻的時候正四十歲。利百加是巴旦‧亞蘭地的彼土利的女兒，是亞蘭人拉班的妹子。and Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan-aram and the sister of Laban the Aramean.
21以撒因他妻子不生育，就為她祈求耶和華；耶和華應允他的祈求，他的妻子利百加就懷了孕。Later, Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. And the LORD heard his prayer, and his wife Rebekah conceived.
22孩子們在她腹中，她就說：「若是這樣，我為甚麼活著呢（或譯：我為甚麼如此呢）？」她就去求問耶和華。But the children inside her struggled with each other, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So Rebekah went to inquire of the LORD,
23耶和華對她說：兩國在你腹內；兩族要從你身上出來。這族必強於那族；將來大的要服事小的。and He declared to her: “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.”
24生產的日子到了，腹中果然是雙子。When her time came to give birth, there were indeed twins in her womb.
25先產的身體發紅，渾身有毛，如同皮衣，他們就給他起名叫（就是有毛的意思）。The first one came out red, covered with hair like a fur coat; so they named him Esau.
26隨後又生了以掃的兄弟，手抓住以掃的腳跟，因此給他起名叫（就是抓住的意思）。利百加生下兩個兒子的時候，以撒年正六十歲。After this, his brother came out grasping Esau’s heel; so he was named Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when the twins were born.
27兩個孩子漸漸長大，以掃善於打獵，常在田野；雅各為人，常住在帳棚裡。When the boys grew up, Esau became a skillful hunter, a man of the field, while Jacob was a quiet man who stayed at home.
28以撒愛以掃，因為常吃他的野味；利百加卻愛雅各。Because Isaac had a taste for wild game, he loved Esau; but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29有一天，雅各，以掃從田野回來。One day, while Jacob was cooking some stew, Esau came in from the field and was famished.
30以掃對雅各說：「我累昏了，求你把這紅湯給我喝。」因此以掃又叫（就是紅的意思）。He said to Jacob, “Let me eat some of that red stew, for I am famished.” (That is why he was also called Edom.)
31雅各說：「你今日把賣給我吧。」“First sell me your birthright,” Jacob replied.
32以掃說：「我將要死，這長子的名分於我有甚麼益處呢？」“Look,” said Esau, “I am about to die, so what good is a birthright to me?”
33雅各說：「你今日對我起誓吧。」以掃就對他起了誓，把長子的名分賣給雅各。“Swear to me first,” Jacob said. So Esau swore to Jacob and sold him the birthright.
34於是雅各將餅和紅豆湯給了以掃，以掃吃了喝了，便起來走了。這就是以掃了他長子的名分。Then Jacob gave some bread and lentil stew to Esau, who ate and drank and then got up and went away. Thus Esau despised his birthright.
