1當暗拉非作示拿王，亞略作以拉撒王，基大老瑪作以攔王，提達作戈印王的時候，In those days Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of Goiim
2他們都攻打所多瑪王比拉、蛾摩拉王比沙、押瑪王示納、洗扁王善以別，和比拉王；比拉就是瑣珥。went to war against Bera king of Sodom, Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar).
3這五王都在西訂谷會合；西訂谷就是。The latter five came as allies to the Valley of Siddim (that is, the Salt Sea).
4他們已經事奉基大老瑪十二年，到十三年就背叛了。For twelve years they had been subject to Chedorlaomer, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled.
5十四年，基大老瑪和同盟的王都來在亞特律‧加寧，殺敗了利乏音人，在哈麥殺敗了蘇西人，在沙微‧基列亭殺敗了以米人，In the fourteenth year, Chedorlaomer and the kings allied with him went out and defeated the Rephaites in Ashteroth-karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites in Shaveh-kiriathaim,
6在何利人的西珥山殺敗了何利人，一直殺到靠近曠野的伊勒‧巴蘭。and the Horites in the area of Mount Seir, as far as El-paran, which is near the desert.
7他們回到安‧密巴，就是加低斯，殺敗了亞瑪力全地的人，以及住在哈洗遜‧他瑪的亞摩利人。Then they turned back to invade En-mishpat (that is, Kadesh), and they conquered the whole territory of the Amalekites, as well as the Amorites who lived in Hazazon-tamar.
8於是所多瑪王、蛾摩拉王、押瑪王、洗扁王，和比拉王（比拉就是瑣珥）都出來，在西訂谷擺陣，與他們交戰，Then the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar) marched out and arrayed themselves for battle in the Valley of Siddim
9就是與以攔王基大老瑪、戈印王提達、示拿王暗拉非、以拉撒王亞略交戰；乃是四王與五王交戰。against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar—four kings against five.
10西訂谷有許多石漆坑。所多瑪王和蛾摩拉王逃跑，有掉在坑裡的，其餘的人都往山上逃跑。Now the Valley of Siddim was full of tar pits, and as the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some men fell into the pits, but the survivors fled to the hill country.
11四王就把所多瑪和蛾摩拉所有的財物，並一切的糧食都擄掠去了；The four kings seized all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah and all their food, and they went on their way.
12又把亞伯蘭的姪兒羅得和羅得的財物擄掠去了。當時羅得正住在所多瑪。They also carried off Abram’s nephew Lot and his possessions, since Lot was living in Sodom.
13有一個逃出來的人告訴亞伯蘭；亞伯蘭正住在亞摩利人幔利的橡樹那裡。幔利和以實各並亞乃都是弟兄，曾與亞伯蘭聯盟。Then an escapee came and reported this to Abram the Hebrew. Now Abram was living near the Oaks of Mamre the Amorite, a brother of Eshcol and Aner, all of whom were bound by treaty to Abram.
14亞伯蘭聽見他姪兒被擄去，就率領他家裡生養的三百一十八人，直追到但，And when Abram heard that his relative had been captured, he mobilized the 318 trained men born in his household, and they set out in pursuit as far as Dan.
15便在夜間，自己同僕人分隊殺敗敵人，又追到大馬士革左邊的何把，During the night, Abram divided his forces and routed Chedorlaomer’s army, pursuing them as far as Hobah, north of Damascus.
16將被擄掠的一切財物奪回來，連他姪兒羅得和他的財物，以及婦女、人民也都奪回來。He retrieved all the goods, as well as his relative Lot and his possessions, together with the women and the rest of the people.
17亞伯蘭殺敗基大老瑪和與他同盟的王回來的時候，所多瑪王出來，在沙微谷迎接他；沙微谷就是王谷。After Abram returned from defeating Chedorlaomer and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).
18又有撒冷王帶著餅和酒出來迎接；他是至高 神的祭司。Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine—since he was priest of God Most High—
19他為亞伯蘭祝福，說：「願、至高的 神賜福與亞伯蘭！and he blessed Abram and said: “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,
20至高的 神把敵人交在你手裡，是應當稱頌的！」亞伯蘭就把所得的拿出來，給麥基洗德。and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of everything.
21所多瑪王對亞伯蘭說：「你把人口給我，財物你自己拿去吧！」The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people, but take the goods for yourself.”
22亞伯蘭對所多瑪王說：「我已經向天地的主─至高的 神耶和華起誓：But Abram replied to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the LORD God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,
23凡是你的東西，就是一根線、一根，我都不拿，免得你說：『我使亞伯蘭富足！』that I will not accept even a thread, or a strap of a sandal, or anything that belongs to you, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’
24只有僕人所吃的，並與我同行的亞乃、以實各、幔利所應得的分，可以任憑他們拿去。」I will accept nothing but what my men have eaten and the share for the men who went with me—Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre. They may take their portion.”
