書卷介紹：創世記律法書
神創造萬物，人雖然犯罪，神卻揀選亞伯拉罕一家，要藉著他們使萬民得福。
創世記是聖經的第一卷書，講到萬物的起頭。神創造天地和人，但人不聽神的話而犯罪，世界越來越敗壞，於是有了洪水和巴別塔的事件。接著神呼召亞伯拉罕，應許要使他的後裔成為大國，並藉著他使地上萬族得福。這個應許傳給以撒、雅各和雅各的十二個兒子，最後約瑟把全家接到埃及。

1起初， 神創造天地。In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2地是，淵面黑暗； 神的靈在水面上。Now the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.
3神說：「要有光」，就有了光。And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
4神看光是好的，就把光暗分開了。And God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness.
5神稱光為「晝」，稱暗為「夜」。有晚上，有早晨，這是頭一日。God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
6神說：「諸水之間要有，將水分為上下。」And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters, to separate the waters from the waters.”
7神就造出空氣，將空氣以下的水、空氣以上的水分開了。事就這樣成了。So God made the expanse and separated the waters beneath it from the waters above. And it was so.
8神稱空氣為「天」。有晚上，有早晨，是第二日。God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
9神說：「天下的水要聚在一處，使旱地露出來。」事就這樣成了。And God said, “Let the waters under the sky be gathered into one place, so that the dry land may appear.” And it was so.
10神稱旱地為「地」，稱水的聚處為「海」。 神看著是好的。God called the dry land “earth,” and the gathering of waters He called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
11神說：「地要發生青草和結種子的菜蔬，並結果子的樹木，各從其類，果子都包著核。」事就這樣成了。Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees, each bearing fruit with seed according to its kind.” And it was so.
12於是地發生了青草和結種子的菜蔬，各從其類；並結果子的樹木，各從其類；果子都包著核。 神看著是好的。The earth produced vegetation: seed-bearing plants according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
13有晚上，有早晨，是第三日。And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.
14神說：「天上要有光體，可以分晝夜，作記號，定節令、日子、年歲，And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to distinguish between the day and the night, and let them be signs to mark the seasons and days and years.
15並要發光在天空，普照在地上。」事就這樣成了。And let them serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth.” And it was so.
16於是 神造了兩個大光，大的管晝，小的管夜，又造眾星，God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night. And He made the stars as well.
17就把這些光擺列在天空，普照在地上，God set these lights in the expanse of the sky to shine upon the earth,
18管理晝夜，分別明暗。 神看著是好的。to preside over the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
19有晚上，有早晨，是第四日。And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.
20神說：「水要多多滋生有生命的物；要有雀鳥飛在地面以上，天空之中。」And God said, “Let the waters teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the sky.”
21神就造出大魚和水中所滋生各樣有生命的動物，各從其類；又造出各樣飛鳥，各從其類。 神看著是好的。So God created the great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters teemed according to their kinds, and every winged bird after its kind. And God saw that it was good.
22神就賜福給這一切，說：「滋生繁多，充滿海中的水；雀鳥也要多生在地上。」Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters of the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
23有晚上，有早晨，是第五日。And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
24神說：「地要生出活物來，各從其類；牲畜、昆蟲、野獸，各從其類。」事就這樣成了。And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, land crawlers, and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.
25於是 神造出野獸，各從其類；牲畜，各從其類；地上一切昆蟲，各從其類。 神看著是好的。God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that crawls upon the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26神說：「我們要照著我們的、按著我們的樣式造人，使他們管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥、地上的牲畜，和全地，並地上所爬的一切昆蟲。」Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”
27神就照著自己的形像造人，乃是照著他的形像造男造女。So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28神就賜福給他們，又對他們說：「要生養眾多，遍滿地面，這地，也要管理海裡的魚、空中的鳥，和地上各樣行動的活物。」God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.”
29神說：「看哪，我將遍地上一切結種子的菜蔬和一切樹上所結有核的果子全賜給你們作食物。Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit contains seed. They will be yours for food.
30至於地上的走獸和空中的飛鳥，並各樣爬在地上有生命的物，我將青草賜給牠們作食物。」事就這樣成了。And to every beast of the earth and every bird of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth—everything that has the breath of life in it—I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.
31神看著一切所造的都甚好。有晚上，有早晨，是第六日。And God looked upon all that He had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
