1耶和華曉諭摩西說：Then the LORD said to Moses,
2「你吩咐以色列人轉回，安營在前，密奪和海的中間，對著巴力‧洗分，靠近海邊安營。“Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. You are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal-zephon.
3法老必說：『以色列人在地中，曠野把他們困住了。』For Pharaoh will say of the Israelites, ‘They are wandering the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.’
4我要使法老的心剛硬，他要追趕他們，我便在法老和他全軍身上得榮耀；埃及人就知道我是耶和華。」於是以色列人這樣行了。And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart so that he will pursue them. But I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD.” So this is what the Israelites did.
5有人告訴埃及王說：「百姓逃跑。」法老和他的臣僕就向百姓變心，說：「我們容以色列人去，不再服事我們，這做的是甚麼事呢？」When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about them and said, “What have we done? We have released Israel from serving us.”
6法老就預備他的車輛，帶領軍兵同去，So Pharaoh prepared his chariot and took his army with him.
7並帶著六百輛特選的車和埃及所有的車，每輛都有。He took 600 of the best chariots, and all the other chariots of Egypt, with officers over all of them.
8耶和華使埃及王法老的心剛硬，他就追趕以色列人，因為以色列人是地出埃及。And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out defiantly.
9埃及人追趕他們，法老一切的馬匹、車輛、馬兵，與軍兵就在海邊上，靠近比‧哈希錄，對著巴力‧洗分，在他們安營的地方追上了。The Egyptians—all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, horsemen and troops—pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near Pi-hahiroth, opposite Baal-zephon.
10法老臨近的時候，以色列人舉目看見埃及人趕來，就甚懼怕，向耶和華哀求。As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians marching after them, and they were terrified and cried out to the LORD.
11他們對摩西說：「難道在埃及沒有墳地，你把我們帶來死在曠野嗎？你為甚麼這樣待我們，將我們從埃及領出來呢？They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us into the wilderness to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?
12我們在埃及豈沒有對你說過，不要攪擾我們，容我們服事埃及人嗎？因為服事埃及人比死在曠野還好。」Did we not say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone so that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.”
13摩西對百姓說：「不要懼怕，只管站住！看耶和華今天向你們所要施行的。因為，你們今天所看見的埃及人必永遠不再看見了。But Moses told the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the LORD’s salvation, which He will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.
14耶和華必為你們爭戰；你們只管靜默，不要作聲。」The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
15耶和華對摩西說：「你為甚麼向我哀求呢？你吩咐以色列人往前走。Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the Israelites to go forward.
16你舉手向海伸杖，把水分開。以色列人要下海中走乾地。And as for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
17我要使埃及人的心剛硬，他們就跟著下去。我要在法老和他的全軍、車輛、馬兵上得榮耀。And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. Then I will gain honor by means of Pharaoh and all his army and chariots and horsemen.
18我在法老和他的車輛、馬兵上得榮耀的時候，埃及人就知道我是耶和華了。」The Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I am honored through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.”
19在以色列營前行走 ，轉到他們後邊去；雲柱也從他們前邊轉到他們後邊立住。And the angel of God, who had gone before the camp of Israel, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from before them and stood behind them,
20在埃及營和以色列營中間有雲柱，一邊黑暗，一邊發光，終夜兩下不得相近。so that it came between the camps of Egypt and Israel. The cloud was there in the darkness, but it lit up the night. So all night long neither camp went near the other.
21摩西向海伸杖，耶和華便用大東風，使海水一夜退去，水便分開，海就成了乾地。Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove back the sea with a strong east wind that turned it into dry land. So the waters were divided,
22以色列人下海中走乾地，水在他們的左右作了。and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on their right and on their left.
23埃及人追趕他們，法老一切的馬匹、車輛，和馬兵都跟著下到海中。And the Egyptians chased after them—all Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and horsemen—and followed them into the sea.
24到了的時候，耶和華從雲火柱中向埃及的軍兵觀看，使埃及的軍兵混亂了；At morning watch, however, the LORD looked down on the army of the Egyptians from the pillar of fire and cloud, and He threw their camp into confusion.
25又使他們的車輪脫落，難以行走，以致埃及人說：「我們從以色列人面前逃跑吧！因耶和華為他們攻擊我們了。」He caused their chariot wheels to wobble, so that they had difficulty driving. “Let us flee from the Israelites,” said the Egyptians, “for the LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!”
26耶和華對摩西說：「你向海伸杖，叫水仍合在埃及人並他們的車輛、馬兵身上。」Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.”
27摩西就向海伸杖，到了天一亮，海水仍舊復原。埃及人避水逃跑的時候，耶和華把他們在海中，So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea returned to its normal state. As the Egyptians were retreating, the LORD swept them into the sea.
28水就回流，淹沒了車輛和馬兵。那些跟著以色列人下海法老的全軍，連一個也沒有剩下。The waters flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had chased the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.
29以色列人卻在海中走乾地；水在他們的左右作了牆垣。But the Israelites had walked through the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on their right and on their left.
30當日，耶和華這樣拯救以色列人脫離埃及人的手，以色列人看見埃及人的死屍都在海邊了。That day the LORD saved Israel from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the shore.
31以色列人看見耶和華向埃及人所行的大事，就敬畏耶和華，又信服他和他的僕人摩西。When Israel saw the great power that the LORD had exercised over the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and believed in Him and in His servant Moses.
