1此後，大衛攻打非利士人，把他們治服，從他們手下奪取了（原文是母城的嚼環）；Some time later, David defeated the Philistines, subdued them, and took Metheg-ammah from the hand of the Philistines.
2又攻打摩押人，使他們躺臥在地上，：量二繩的殺了，量一繩的存留。摩押人就歸服大衛，給他。David also defeated the Moabites, made them lie down on the ground, and measured them off with a cord. He measured off with two lengths those to be put to death, and with one length those to be spared. So the Moabites became subject to David and brought him tribute.
3王利合的兒子哈大底謝往大河去，要奪回他的國權。大衛就攻打他，David also defeated Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, who had marched out to restore his dominion along the Euphrates River.
4擒拿了他的馬兵一千七百，步兵二萬，將拉戰車的馬，但留下一百輛車的馬。David captured from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand charioteers, and twenty thousand foot soldiers, and he hamstrung all the horses except a hundred he kept for the chariots.
5大馬士革的來幫助瑣巴王哈大底謝，大衛就殺了亞蘭人二萬二千。When the Arameans of Damascus came to help King Hadadezer of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand of their men.
6於是大衛在大馬士革的亞蘭地設立，亞蘭人就歸服他，給他進貢。大衛無論往哪裡去，耶和華都使他得勝。Then he placed garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to David and brought him tribute. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
7他奪了哈大底謝臣僕所拿的金盾牌，帶到耶路撒冷。And David took the gold shields that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.
8大衛王又從屬哈大底謝的比他和比羅他城中奪取了許多的銅。And from Betah and Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a large amount of bronze.
9哈馬王陀以聽見大衛殺敗哈大底謝的全軍，When King Toi of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer,
10就打發他兒子約蘭去見大衛王，問他的安，為他祝福，因為他殺敗了哈大底謝（原來陀以與哈大底謝常常爭戰）。約蘭帶了金銀銅的器皿來，he sent his son Joram to greet King David and bless him for fighting and defeating Hadadezer, who had been at war with Toi. Joram brought with him articles of silver and gold and bronze,
11大衛王將這些器皿和他治服各國所得來的金銀都，獻給耶和華，and King David dedicated these to the LORD, along with the silver and gold he had dedicated from all the nations he had subdued—
12就是從亞蘭、摩押、亞捫、非利士、亞瑪力人所得來的，以及從瑣巴王利合的兒子哈大底謝所掠之物。from Edom and Moab, from the Ammonites and Philistines and Amalekites, and from the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13大衛在擊殺了亞蘭（或譯：以東，見詩篇六十篇詩題）一萬八千人回來，就得了大名；And David made a name for himself when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
14又在以東全地設立防營，以東人就都歸服大衛。大衛無論往哪裡去，耶和華都使他得勝。He placed garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites were subject to David. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
15大衛作以色列眾人的王，又向眾民秉公行義。Thus David reigned over all Israel and administered justice and righteousness for all his people:
16洗魯雅的兒子約押作元帥；亞希律的兒子約沙法作；Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder;
17亞希突的兒子和亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒作祭司長；西萊雅作；Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Seraiah was the scribe;
18耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統轄。大衛的眾子都作領袖。Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and Pelethites; and David’s sons were priestly leaders.
