1大衛又聚集以色列中所有挑選的人三萬。David again assembled the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand in all.
2大衛起身，率領跟隨他的眾人前往，要從巴拉‧猶大將 神的約櫃運來；這約櫃就是坐在二上萬軍之耶和華留名的約櫃。And he and all his troops set out for Baale of Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name—the name of the LORD of Hosts, who is enthroned between the cherubim that are on it.
3他們將 神的約櫃從岡上亞比拿達的家裡抬出來，放在新車上；亞比拿達的兩個兒子和亞希約趕這新車。They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart,
4他們將 神的約櫃從岡上亞比拿達家裡抬出來的時候，亞希約在櫃前行走。bringing with it the ark of God. And Ahio was walking in front of the ark.
5大衛和以色列的全家在耶和華面前，用松木製造的各樣樂器和琴、瑟、鼓、、鑼，作樂跳舞。David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the LORD with all kinds of wood instruments, harps, stringed instruments, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals.
6到了拿艮的，因為牛失前蹄（或譯：驚跳），烏撒就伸手扶住 神的約櫃。When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen had stumbled.
7神耶和華向烏撒發怒，因這錯誤擊殺他，他就死在 神的約櫃旁。And the anger of the LORD burned against Uzzah, and God struck him down on the spot for his irreverence, and he died there beside the ark of God.
8大衛因耶和華擊殺（原文是闖殺）烏撒，心裡愁煩，就稱那地方為毘列斯‧烏撒，直到今日。Then David became angry because the LORD had burst forth against Uzzah. So he named that place Perez-uzzah, as it is called to this day.
9那日，大衛懼怕耶和華，說：「耶和華的約櫃怎可運到我這裡來？」That day David feared the LORD and asked, “How can the ark of the LORD ever come to me?”
10於是大衛不肯將耶和華的約櫃運進大衛的城，卻運到迦特人俄別‧以東的家中。So he was unwilling to move the ark of the LORD to the City of David; instead, he took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
11耶和華的約櫃在迦特人俄別‧以東家中三個月；耶和華賜福給俄別‧以東和他的全家。Thus the ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite for three months, and the LORD blessed him and all his household.
12有人告訴大衛王說：「耶和華因為約櫃賜福給俄別‧以東的家和一切屬他的。」大衛就去，歡歡喜喜地將 神的約櫃從俄別‧以東家中抬到大衛的城裡。Now it was reported to King David, “The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God.” So David went and had the ark of God brought up from the house of Obed-edom into the City of David with rejoicing.
13抬耶和華約櫃的人走了六步，大衛就獻牛與肥羊為祭。When those carrying the ark of the LORD had advanced six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened calf.
14大衛穿著細麻布的以弗得，在耶和華面前。And David, wearing a linen ephod, danced with all his might before the LORD,
15這樣，大衛和以色列的全家歡呼吹角，將耶和華的約櫃抬上來。while he and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and the sounding of the ram’s horn.
16耶和華的約櫃進了大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶裡觀看，見大衛王在耶和華面前踴躍跳舞，心裡就輕視他。As the ark of the LORD was entering the City of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from a window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, and she despised him in her heart.
17眾人將耶和華的約櫃請進去，安放在所預備的地方，就是在大衛所搭的帳幕裡。大衛在耶和華面前獻燔祭和平安祭。So they brought the ark of the LORD and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
18大衛獻完了燔祭和平安祭，就奉萬軍之耶和華的名給民祝福，When David had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of Hosts.
19並且分給以色列眾人，無論男女，每人一個餅，一塊肉，一個葡萄餅；眾人就各回各家去了。Then he distributed to every man and woman among the multitude of Israel a loaf of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake. And all the people departed, each to his own home.
20大衛回家要給眷屬祝福；掃羅的女兒米甲出來迎接他，說：「以色列王今日在臣僕的婢女眼前露體，如同一個無恥露體一樣，有好大的榮耀啊！」When David returned home to bless his own household, Saul’s daughter Michal came out to meet him. “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today!” she said. “He has uncovered himself today in the sight of the maidservants of his subjects, like a vulgar person would do.”
21大衛對米甲說：「這是在耶和華面前；耶和華已揀選我，廢了你父和你父的全家，立我作耶和華民以色列的君，所以我必在耶和華面前跳舞。But David said to Michal, “I was dancing before the LORD, who chose me over your father and all his house when He appointed me ruler over the LORD’s people Israel. I will celebrate before the LORD,
22我也必更加卑微，自己看為輕賤。你所說的那些婢女，她們倒要尊敬我。」and I will humiliate and humble myself even more than this. Yet I will be honored by the maidservants of whom you have spoken.”
23掃羅的女兒米甲，直到死日，沒有生養兒女。And Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
