1此後，大衛攻打非利士人，把他們治服，從他們手下奪取了迦特和屬迦特的村莊；Some time later, David defeated the Philistines, subdued them, and took Gath and its villages from the hand of the Philistines.
2又攻打摩押，摩押人就歸服大衛，給他。David also defeated the Moabites, and they became subject to David and brought him tribute.
3王哈大利謝（在撒母耳下八章三節是哈大底謝）往幼發拉底河去，要堅定自己的國權，大衛就攻打他，直到哈馬，As far as Hamath, David also defeated King Hadadezer of Zobah, who had marched out to establish his dominion along the Euphrates River.
4奪了他的戰車一千，馬兵七千，步兵二萬，將拉戰車的馬，但留下一百輛車的馬。David captured from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand charioteers, and twenty thousand foot soldiers, and he hamstrung all the horses except a hundred he kept for the chariots.
5大馬士革的亞蘭人來幫助瑣巴王哈大利謝，大衛就殺了亞蘭人二萬二千。When the Arameans of Damascus came to help King Hadadezer of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand of their men.
6於是大衛在大馬士革的亞蘭地設立防營，亞蘭人就歸服他，給他進貢。大衛無論往哪裡去，耶和華都使他得勝。Then he placed garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to David and brought him tribute. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
7他奪了哈大利謝臣僕所拿的金盾牌帶到耶路撒冷。And David took the gold shields that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.
8大衛又從屬哈大利謝的提巴（或譯：比他）和均二城中奪取了許多的銅。後來所羅門用此製造銅海、銅柱，和一切的銅器。And from Tibhath and Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took a large amount of bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze Sea, the pillars, and various bronze articles.
9哈馬王陀烏聽見大衛殺敗瑣巴王哈大利謝的全軍，When King Tou of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,
10就打發他兒子哈多蘭去見大衛王，問他的安，為他祝福，因為他殺敗了哈大利謝〈原來陀烏與哈大利謝常常爭戰〉。哈多蘭帶了金銀銅的各樣器皿來。he sent his son Hadoram to greet King David and bless him for fighting and defeating Hadadezer, who had been at war with Tou. Hadoram brought all kinds of articles of gold and silver and bronze,
11大衛王將這些器皿，並從各國奪來的金銀，就是從以東、摩押、亞捫、非利士、亞瑪力人所奪來的，都分別為聖獻給耶和華。and King David dedicated these to the LORD, along with the silver and gold he had carried off from all these nations—from Edom and Moab, and from the Ammonites, Philistines, and Amalekites.
12洗魯雅的兒子亞比篩在擊殺了以東一萬八千人。Moreover, Abishai son of Zeruiah struck down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
13大衛在以東地設立，以東人就都歸服他。大衛無論往哪裡去，耶和華都使他得勝。He placed garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites were subject to David. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.
14大衛作以色列眾人的王，又向眾民。Thus David reigned over all Israel and administered justice and righteousness for all his people:
15洗魯雅的兒子約押作元帥；亞希律的兒子約沙法作；Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder;
16亞希突的兒子撒督和亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒作祭司長；沙威沙作書記；Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Shavsha was the scribe;
17耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統轄和比利提人。大衛的眾子都在王的左右作領袖。Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief officials at the king’s side.
