被囚在圍城中的耶利米

¹猶大王西底家第十年，就是尼布甲尼撒十八年，耶和華的話臨到耶利米。This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.

²那時巴比倫王的軍隊圍困耶路撒冷，先知耶利米囚在護衛兵的院內，在猶大王的宮中；At that time the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was imprisoned in the courtyard of the guard, which was in the palace of the king of Judah.

³因為猶大王西底家已將他囚禁，說：「你為甚麼預言說，耶和華如此說：『我必將這城交在巴比倫王的手中，他必攻取這城。For Zedekiah king of Judah had imprisoned him, saying: “Why are you prophesying like this? You claim that the LORD says, ‘Behold, I am about to deliver this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will capture it.

⁴猶大王西底家必不能逃脫迦勒底人的手，定要交在巴比倫王的手中，要口對口彼此說話，眼對眼彼此相看。Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape from the hands of the Chaldeans, but he will surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and will speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye.

⁵巴比倫王必將西底家帶到巴比倫；西底家必住在那裡，直到我眷顧他的時候。你們雖與迦勒底人爭戰，卻不順利。這是耶和華說的。』」He will take Zedekiah to Babylon, where he will stay until I attend to him, declares the LORD. If you fight against the Chaldeans, you will not succeed.’”

買下亞拿突的地

⁶耶利米說：「耶和華的話臨到我說：Jeremiah replied, “The word of the LORD came to me, saying:

⁷『你叔叔沙龍的兒子哈拿篾必來見你，說：我在亞拿突的那塊地，求你買來；因你買這地是合乎贖回之理。』」Behold! Hanamel, the son of your uncle Shallum, is coming to you to say, ‘Buy for yourself my field in Anathoth, for you have the right of redemption to buy it.’

⁸我叔叔的兒子哈拿篾果然照耶和華的話來到護衛兵的院內，對我說：「我在便雅憫境內、亞拿突的那塊地，求你買來；因你買來是合乎承受之理，是你當贖的。你為自己買來吧！」我─耶利米就知道這是耶和華的話。Then, as the LORD had said, my cousin Hanamel came to me in the courtyard of the guard and urged me, ‘Please buy my field in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for you own the right of inheritance and redemption. Buy it for yourself.’” Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.

⁹我便向我叔叔的兒子哈拿篾買了亞拿突的那塊地，平了十七舍客勒銀子給他。So I bought the field in Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel, and I weighed out seventeen shekels of silver.

¹⁰我在契上畫押，將契封緘，又請見證人來，並用天平將銀子平給他。I signed and sealed the deed, called in witnesses, and weighed out the silver on the scales.

¹¹我便將照例按規所立的買契，就是封緘的那一張和敞著的那一張，Then I took the deed of purchase—the sealed copy with its terms and conditions, as well as the open copy—

¹²當著我叔叔的兒子哈拿篾和畫押作見證的人，並坐在護衛兵院內的一切猶大人眼前，交給瑪西雅的孫子尼利亞的兒子巴錄。and I gave this deed to Baruch son of Neriah, the son of Mahseiah, in the sight of my cousin Hanamel and the witnesses who were signing the purchase agreement and all the Jews sitting in the courtyard of the guard.

¹³當著他們眾人眼前，我囑咐巴錄說：In their sight I instructed Baruch,

¹⁴「萬軍之耶和華─以色列的　神如此說：要將這封緘的和敞著的兩張契放在瓦器裡，可以存留多日。“This is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Take these deeds—both the sealed copy and the open copy of the deed of purchase—and put them in a clay jar to preserve them for a long time.

¹⁵因為萬軍之耶和華─以色列的　神如此說：將來在這地必有人再買房屋、田地，和葡萄園。」For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Houses, fields, and vineyards will again be bought in this land.”

耶利米的禱告

¹⁶我將買契交給尼利亞的兒子巴錄以後，便禱告耶和華說：After I had given the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD:

¹⁷「主耶和華啊，你曾用大能和伸出來的膀臂創造天地，在你沒有難成的事。“Oh, Lord GOD! You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You!

¹⁸你施慈愛與千萬人，又將父親的罪孽報應在他後世子孫的懷中，是至大全能的　神，萬軍之耶和華是你的名。You show loving devotion to thousands but lay the iniquity of the fathers into the laps of their children after them, O great and mighty God whose name is the LORD of Hosts,

¹⁹謀事有大略，行事有大能，注目觀看世人一切的舉動，為要照各人所行的和他做事的結果報應他。the One great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are on all the ways of the sons of men, to reward each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds.

²⁰在埃及地顯神蹟奇事，直到今日在以色列和別人中間也是如此，使自己得了名聲，正如今日一樣。You performed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and You do so to this very day, both in Israel and among all mankind. And You have made a name for Yourself, as is the case to this day.

²¹用神蹟奇事和大能的手，並伸出來的膀臂與大可畏的事，領你的百姓以色列出了埃及。You brought Your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and with great terror.

²²將這地賜給他們，就是你向他們列祖起誓應許賜給他們流奶與蜜之地。You gave them this land that You had sworn to give their fathers, a land flowing with milk and honey.

²³他們進入這地得了為業，卻不聽從你的話，也不遵行你的律法；你一切所吩咐他們行的，他們一無所行，因此你使這一切的災禍臨到他們。They came in and possessed it, but they did not obey Your voice or walk in Your law. They failed to perform all that You commanded them to do, and so You have brought upon them all this disaster.

²⁴看哪，敵人已經來到，築壘要攻取這城；城也因刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫交在攻城的迦勒底人手中。你所說的話都成就了，你也看見了。See how the siege ramps are mounted against the city to capture it. And by sword and famine and plague, the city has been given into the hands of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it. What You have spoken has happened, as You now see!

²⁵主耶和華啊，你對我說：要用銀子為自己買那塊地，又請見證人。其實這城已交在迦勒底人的手中了。」Yet You, O Lord GOD, have said to me, ‘Buy for yourself the field with silver and call in witnesses, even though the city has been delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans!’”

豈有我難成的事嗎

²⁶耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

²⁷「我是耶和華，是凡有血氣者的　神，豈有我難成的事嗎？“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is anything too difficult for Me?

²⁸耶和華如此說：我必將這城交付迦勒底人的手和巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的手，他必攻取這城。Therefore this is what the LORD says: Behold, I am about to deliver this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who will capture it.

²⁹攻城的迦勒底人必來放火焚燒這城和其中的房屋。在這房屋上，人曾向巴力燒香，向別神澆奠，惹我發怒。And the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city will come in, set it on fire, and burn it, along with the houses of those who provoked Me to anger by burning incense to Baal on their rooftops and by pouring out drink offerings to other gods.

³⁰以色列人和猶大人自從幼年以來，專行我眼中看為惡的事；以色列人盡以手所做的惹我發怒。這是耶和華說的。For the children of Israel and of Judah have done nothing but evil in My sight from their youth; indeed, they have done nothing but provoke Me to anger by the work of their hands, declares the LORD.

³¹這城自從建造的那日直到今日，常惹我的怒氣和忿怒，使我將這城從我面前除掉；For this city has aroused My wrath and fury from the day it was built until now. Therefore I will remove it from My presence

³²是因以色列人和猶大人一切的邪惡，就是他們和他們的君王、首領、祭司、先知，並猶大的眾人，以及耶路撒冷的居民所行的，惹我發怒。because of all the evil the children of Israel and of Judah have done to provoke Me to anger—they, their kings, their officials, their priests and prophets, the men of Judah, and the residents of Jerusalem.

³³他們以背向我，不以面向我；我雖從早起來教訓他們，他們卻不聽從，不受教訓，They have turned their backs to Me and not their faces. Though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline.

³⁴竟把可憎之物設立在稱為我名下的殿中，污穢了這殿。They have placed their abominations in the house that bears My Name, and so have defiled it.

³⁵他們在欣嫩子谷建築巴力的邱壇，好使自己的兒女經火歸摩洛；他們行這可憎的事，使猶大陷在罪裡，這並不是我所吩咐的，也不是我心所起的意。」They have built the high places of Baal in the Valley of Ben-hinnom to make their sons and daughters pass through the fire to Molech—something I never commanded them, nor had it ever entered My mind, that they should commit such an abomination and cause Judah to sin.

我必招聚他們，立永遠的約

³⁶現在論到這城，就是你們所說、已經因刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫交在巴比倫王手中的，耶和華─以色列的　神如此說：Now therefore, about this city of which you say, ‘It will be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword and famine and plague,’ this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says:

³⁷「我在怒氣、忿怒，和大惱恨中，將以色列人趕到各國。日後我必從那裡將他們招聚出來，領他們回到此地，使他們安然居住。I will surely gather My people from all the lands to which I have banished them in My furious anger and great wrath, and I will return them to this place and make them dwell in safety.

³⁸他們要作我的子民，我要作他們的　神。They will be My people, and I will be their God.

³⁹我要使他們彼此同心同道，好叫他們永遠敬畏我，使他們和他們後世的子孫得福樂，I will give them one heart and one way, so that they will always fear Me for their own good and for the good of their children after them.

⁴⁰又要與他們立永遠的約，必隨著他們施恩，並不離開他們，且使他們有敬畏我的心，不離開我。I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never turn away from doing good to them, and I will put My fear in their hearts, so that they will never turn away from Me.

⁴¹我必歡喜施恩與他們，要盡心盡意、誠誠實實將他們栽於此地。Yes, I will rejoice in doing them good, and I will faithfully plant them in this land with all My heart and with all My soul.

⁴²「因為耶和華如此說：我怎樣使這一切大禍臨到這百姓，我也要照樣使我所應許他們的一切福樂都臨到他們。For this is what the LORD says: Just as I have brought all this great disaster on this people, so I will bring on them all the good I have promised them.

⁴³你們說，這地是荒涼、無人民、無牲畜，是交付迦勒底人手之地。日後在這境內，必有人置買田地。And fields will be bought in this land about which you are saying, ‘It is a desolation, without man or beast; it has been delivered into the hands of the Chaldeans.’

⁴⁴在便雅憫地、耶路撒冷四圍的各處、猶大的城邑、山地的城邑、高原的城邑，並南地的城邑，人必用銀子買田地，在契上畫押，將契封緘，請出見證人，因為我必使被擄的人歸回。這是耶和華說的。」Fields will be purchased with silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed, and witnessed in the land of Benjamin, in the areas surrounding Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah—the cities of the hill country, the foothills, and the Negev—because I will restore them from captivity, declares the LORD.”

你求告我，我就應允你

¹耶利米還囚在護衛兵的院內，耶和華的話第二次臨到他說：While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second time:

²「成就的是耶和華，造作、為要建立的也是耶和華；耶和華是他的名。他如此說：“Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it, the LORD is His name:

³你求告我，我就應允你，並將你所不知道、又大又難的事指示你。Call to Me, and I will answer and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know.

我要醫治這城

⁴論到這城中的房屋和猶大王的宮室，就是拆毀為擋敵人高壘和刀劍的，耶和華─以色列的　神如此說：For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says about the houses of this city and the palaces of the kings of Judah that have been torn down for defense against the siege ramps and the sword:

⁵人要與迦勒底人爭戰，正是拿死屍充滿這房屋，就是我在怒氣和忿怒中所殺的人，因他們的一切惡，我就掩面不顧這城。The Chaldeans are coming to fight and to fill those places with the corpses of the men I will strike down in My anger and in My wrath. I have hidden My face from this city because of all its wickedness.

⁶看哪，我要使這城得以痊癒安舒，使城中的人得醫治，又將豐盛的平安和誠實顯明與他們。Nevertheless, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal its people and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth.

⁷我也要使猶大被擄的和以色列被擄的歸回，並建立他們和起初一樣。I will restore Judah and Israel from captivity and will rebuild them as in former times.

⁸我要除淨他們的一切罪，就是向我所犯的罪；又要赦免他們的一切罪，就是干犯我、違背我的罪。And I will cleanse them from all the iniquity they have committed against Me, and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against Me.

⁹這城要在地上萬國人面前使我得頌讚，得榮耀，名為可喜可樂之城。萬國人因聽見我向這城所賜的福樂、所施的恩惠平安，就懼怕戰兢。」So this city will bring Me renown, joy, praise, and glory before all the nations of the earth, who will hear of all the good I do for it. They will tremble in awe because of all the goodness and prosperity that I will provide for it.

必再聽見歡喜的聲音

¹⁰耶和華如此說：「你們論這地方，說是荒廢無人民無牲畜之地，但在這荒涼無人民無牲畜的猶大城邑和耶路撒冷的街上，This is what the LORD says: In this place you say is a wasteland without man or beast, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted—inhabited by neither man nor beast—there will be heard again

¹¹必再聽見有歡喜和快樂的聲音、新郎和新婦的聲音，並聽見有人說：要稱謝萬軍之耶和華，因耶和華本為善；他的慈愛永遠長存！又有奉感謝祭到耶和華殿中之人的聲音；因為我必使這地被擄的人歸回，和起初一樣。這是耶和華說的。」the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of the bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those bringing thank offerings into the house of the LORD, saying: ‘Give thanks to the LORD of Hosts, for the LORD is good; His loving devotion endures forever.’ For I will restore the land from captivity as in former times, says the LORD.

¹²萬軍之耶和華如此說：「在這荒廢無人民無牲畜之地，並其中所有的城邑，必再有牧人的住處；他們要使羊群躺臥在那裡。This is what the LORD of Hosts says: In this desolate place, without man or beast, and in all its cities, there will once more be pastures for shepherds to rest their flocks.

¹³在山地的城邑、高原的城邑、南地的城邑、便雅憫地、耶路撒冷四圍的各處，和猶大的城邑必再有羊群從數點的人手下經過。這是耶和華說的。」In the cities of the hill country, the foothills, and the Negev, in the land of Benjamin and the cities surrounding Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, the flocks will again pass under the hands of the one who counts them, says the LORD.

大衛公義的苗裔

¹⁴耶和華說：「日子將到，我應許以色列家和猶大家的恩言必然成就。Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will fulfill the gracious promise that I have spoken to the house of Israel and the house of Judah.

¹⁵當那日子，那時候，我必使大衛公義的苗裔長起來；他必在地上施行公平和公義。In those days and at that time I will cause to sprout for David a righteous Branch, and He will administer justice and righteousness in the land.

¹⁶在那日子猶大必得救，耶路撒冷必安然居住，他的名必稱為『耶和華─我們的義』。In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely, and this is the name by which it will be called: The LORD Our Righteousness.

神的約必不廢棄

¹⁹耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

²⁰「耶和華如此說：你們若能廢棄我所立白日黑夜的約，使白日黑夜不按時輪轉，“This is what the LORD says: If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that day and night cease to occupy their appointed time,

²¹就能廢棄我與我僕人大衛所立的約，使他沒有兒子在他的寶座上為王，並能廢棄我與事奉我的祭司、利未人所立的約。then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant and with My ministers the Levites who are priests, so that David will not have a son to reign on his throne.

²²天上的萬象不能數算，海邊的塵沙也不能斗量；我必照樣使我僕人大衛的後裔和事奉我的利未人多起來。」As the hosts of heaven cannot be counted and as the sand on the seashore cannot be measured, so too will I multiply the descendants of My servant David and the Levites who minister before Me.”

²³耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：Moreover, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

²⁴「你沒有揣摩這百姓的話嗎？他們說：『耶和華所揀選的二族，他已經棄絕了。』他們這樣藐視我的百姓，以為不再成國。“Have you not noticed what these people are saying: ‘The LORD has rejected the two families He had chosen’? So they despise My people and no longer regard them as a nation.

²⁵耶和華如此說：若是我立白日黑夜的約不能存住，若是我未曾安排天地的定例，This is what the LORD says: If I have not established My covenant with the day and the night and the fixed order of heaven and earth,

²⁶我就棄絕雅各的後裔和我僕人大衛的後裔，不使大衛的後裔治理亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的後裔；因為我必使他們被擄的人歸回，也必憐憫他們。」then I would also reject the descendants of Jacob and of My servant David, so as not to take from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will restore them from captivity and will have compassion on them.”

合乎純正的道理

¹但你所講的總要合乎那純正的道理。But as for you, speak the things that are consistent with sound doctrine.

勸老年人

²勸老年人要有節制、端莊、自守，在信心、愛心、忍耐上都要純全無疵。Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, and sound in faith, love, and perseverance.

勸老年婦人和少年婦人

³又勸老年婦人，舉止行動要恭敬，不說讒言，不給酒作奴僕，用善道教訓人，Older women, likewise, are to be reverent in their behavior, not slanderers or addicted to much wine, but teachers of good.

⁴好指教少年婦人，愛丈夫，愛兒女，In this way they can train the young women to love their husbands and children,

⁵謹守，貞潔，料理家務，待人有恩，順服自己的丈夫，免得　神的道理被毀謗。to be self-controlled, pure, managers of their households, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be discredited.

勸少年人，自己作榜樣

⁶又勸少年人要謹守。In the same way, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.

⁷你自己凡事要顯出善行的榜樣；在教訓上要正直、端莊，In everything, show yourself to be an example by doing good works. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,

⁸言語純全，無可指責，叫那反對的人，既無處可說我們的不是，便自覺羞愧。and wholesome speech that is above reproach, so that anyone who opposes us will be ashamed, having nothing bad to say about us.

勸僕人

⁹勸僕人要順服自己的主人，凡事討他的喜歡，不可頂撞他，Slaves are to submit to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,

¹⁰不可私拿東西，要顯為忠誠，以致凡事尊榮我們救主─　神的道。not stealing from them, but showing all good faith, so that in every respect they will adorn the teaching about God our Savior.

神救眾人的恩典已經顯明

¹¹因為　神救眾人的恩典已經顯明出來，For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to everyone.

¹²教訓我們除去不敬虔的心和世俗的情慾，在今世自守、公義、敬虔度日，It instructs us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live sensible, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

¹³等候所盼望的福，並等候至大的　神和我們（或譯：　神─我們）救主耶穌基督的榮耀顯現。as we await the blessed hope and glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

¹⁴他為我們捨了自己，要贖我們脫離一切罪惡，又潔淨我們，特作自己的子民，熱心為善。He gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

不可叫人輕看你

¹⁵這些事你要講明，勸戒人，用各等權柄責備人；不可叫人輕看你。Speak these things as you encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
