找到第一批歸回者的家譜

⁵我的　神感動我心，招聚貴冑、官長，和百姓，要照家譜計算。我找著第一次上來之人的家譜，其上寫著：Then my God put it into my heart to assemble the nobles, the officials, and the people to be enrolled by genealogy. I found the genealogical register of those who had first returned, and I found the following written in it:

歸回者的名單

⁶巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒從前擄去猶大省的人，現在他們的子孫從被擄到之地回耶路撒冷和猶大，各歸本城。These are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles carried away to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar its king. They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town,

⁷他們是同著所羅巴伯、耶書亞、尼希米、亞撒利雅、拉米、拿哈瑪尼、末底改、必珊、米斯毘列、比革瓦伊、尼宏、巴拿回來的。accompanied by Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, and Baanah. This is the count of the men of Israel:

⁶⁰尼提寧和所羅門僕人的後裔共三百九十二名。The temple servants and descendants of the servants of Solomon numbered 392 in all.

查不出家譜的人

⁶¹從特米拉、特哈薩、基綠、亞頓、音麥上來的，不能指明他們的宗族譜系是以色列人不是；The following came up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer, but they could not prove that their families were descended from Israel:

⁶²他們是第萊雅的子孫、多比雅的子孫、尼哥大的子孫，共六百四十二名。the descendants of Delaiah, the descendants of Tobiah, and the descendants of Nekoda, 642 in all.

⁶³祭司中，哈巴雅的子孫、哈哥斯的子孫、巴西萊的子孫；因為他們的先祖娶了基列人巴西萊的女兒為妻，所以起名叫巴西萊。And from among the priests: the descendants of Hobaiah, the descendants of Hakkoz, and the descendants of Barzillai (who had married a daughter of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by their name).

⁶⁴這三家的人在族譜之中尋查自己的譜系，卻尋不著，因此算為不潔，不准供祭司的職任。These men searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the priesthood as unclean.

⁶⁵省長對他們說：「不可吃至聖的物，直到有用烏陵和土明決疑的祭司興起來。」The governor ordered them not to eat the most holy things until there was a priest to consult the Urim and Thummim.

會眾總數與捐獻

⁶⁶會眾共有四萬二千三百六十名。The whole assembly numbered 42,360,

⁶⁷此外，還有他們的僕婢七千三百三十七名，又有歌唱的男女二百四十五名。in addition to their 7,337 menservants and maidservants, as well as their 245 male and female singers.

⁶⁸他們有馬七百三十六匹，騾子二百四十五匹，They had 736 horses, 245 mules,

⁶⁹駱駝四百三十五隻，驢六千七百二十匹。435 camels, and 6,720 donkeys.

⁷⁰有些族長為工程捐助。省長捐入庫中的金子一千達利克，碗五十個，祭司的禮服五百三十件。Some of the heads of the families contributed to the project. The governor gave to the treasury 1,000 darics of gold, 50 bowls, and 530 priestly garments.

⁷¹又有族長捐入工程庫的金子二萬達利克，銀子二千二百彌拿。And some of the heads of the families gave to the treasury for the project 20,000 darics of gold and 2,200 minas of silver.

⁷²其餘百姓所捐的金子二萬達利克，銀子二千彌拿，祭司的禮服六十七件。The rest of the people gave a total of 20,000 darics of gold, 2,000 minas of silver, and 67 priestly garments.

⁷³於是祭司、利未人、守門的、歌唱的、民中的一些人、尼提寧，並以色列眾人，各住在自己的城裡。So the priests, Levites, gatekeepers, singers, and temple servants, along with some of the people and the rest of the Israelites, settled in their own towns. And by the seventh month the Israelites had settled in their towns.

以斯拉宣讀律法

¹到了七月，以色列人住在自己的城裡。那時，他們如同一人聚集在水門前的寬闊處，請文士以斯拉將耶和華藉摩西傳給以色列人的律法書帶來。At that time all the people gathered together in the square before the Water Gate, and they asked Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded for Israel.

²七月初一日，祭司以斯拉將律法書帶到聽了能明白的男女會眾面前。On the first day of the seventh month, Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men and women and all who could listen and understand.

³在水門前的寬闊處，從清早到晌午，在眾男女、一切聽了能明白的人面前讀這律法書。眾民側耳而聽。So Ezra read it aloud from daybreak until noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate, in front of the men and women and those who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law.

⁴文士以斯拉站在為這事特備的木臺上。瑪他提雅、示瑪、亞奈雅、烏利亞、希勒家，和瑪西雅站在他的右邊；毘大雅、米沙利、瑪基雅、哈順、哈拔大拿、撒迦利亞，和米書蘭站在他的左邊。Ezra the scribe stood on a high wooden platform built for this occasion. At his right side stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, and at his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hash-baddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam.

⁵以斯拉站在眾民以上，在眾民眼前展開這書。他一展開，眾民就都站起來。Ezra opened the book in full view of all the people, since he was standing above them all, and as he opened it, all the people stood up.

⁶以斯拉稱頌耶和華至大的　神；眾民都舉手應聲說：「阿們！阿們！」就低頭，面伏於地，敬拜耶和華。Then Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God, and with their hands uplifted, all the people said, “Amen, Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.

利未人講明意思

⁷耶書亞、巴尼、示利比、雅憫、亞谷、沙比太、荷第雅、瑪西雅、基利他、亞撒利雅、約撒拔、哈難、毘萊雅，和利未人使百姓明白律法；百姓都站在自己的地方。The Levites—Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah—instructed the people in the Law as they stood in their places.

⁸他們清清楚楚地念　神的律法書，講明意思，使百姓明白所念的。So they read from the Book of the Law of God, explaining it and giving insight, so that the people could understand what was being read.

今日是聖日，不要憂愁

⁹省長尼希米和作祭司的文士以斯拉，並教訓百姓的利未人，對眾民說：「今日是耶和華─你們　神的聖日，不要悲哀哭泣。」這是因為眾民聽見律法書上的話都哭了；Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to all of them, “This day is holy to the LORD your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people were weeping as they heard the words of the Law.

¹⁰又對他們說：「你們去吃肥美的，喝甘甜的，有不能預備的就分給他，因為今日是我們主的聖日。你們不要憂愁，因靠耶和華而得的喜樂是你們的力量。」Then Nehemiah told them, “Go and eat what is rich, drink what is sweet, and send out portions to those who have nothing prepared, since today is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

¹¹於是利未人使眾民靜默，說：「今日是聖日；不要作聲，也不要憂愁。」And the Levites calmed all the people, saying, “Be still, since today is holy. Do not grieve.”

¹²眾民都去吃喝，也分給人，大大快樂，因為他們明白所教訓他們的話。Then all the people began to eat and drink, to send out portions, and to rejoice greatly, because they understood the words that had been made known to them.

發現住棚節的條例

¹³次日，眾民的族長、祭司，和利未人都聚集到文士以斯拉那裡，要留心聽律法上的話。On the second day of the month, the heads of all the families, along with the priests and Levites, gathered around Ezra the scribe to study the words of the Law.

¹⁴他們見律法上寫著，耶和華藉摩西吩咐以色列人要在七月節住棚，And they found written in the Law, which the LORD had commanded through Moses, that the Israelites were to dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month,

¹⁵並要在各城和耶路撒冷宣傳報告說：「你們當上山，將橄欖樹、野橄欖樹、番石榴樹、棕樹，和各樣茂密樹的枝子取來，照著所寫的搭棚。」and that they should proclaim this message and spread it throughout their towns and in Jerusalem, saying, “Go out to the hill country and bring back branches of olive, wild olive, myrtle, palm, and other leafy trees, to make booths, as it is written.”

搭棚守節七日

¹⁶於是百姓出去，取了樹枝來，各人在自己的房頂上，或院內，或　神殿的院內，或水門的寬闊處，或以法蓮門的寬闊處搭棚。And the people went out, brought back branches, and made booths on their own rooftops, in their courtyards, in the courts of the house of God, and in the squares by the Water Gate and by the Gate of Ephraim.

¹⁷從擄到之地歸回的全會眾就搭棚，住在棚裡。從嫩的兒子約書亞的時候直到這日，以色列人沒有這樣行。於是眾人大大喜樂。The whole assembly that had returned from exile made booths and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated like this. And there was great rejoicing.

¹⁸從頭一天直到末一天，以斯拉每日念　神的律法書。眾人守節七日，第八日照例有嚴肅會。Day after day, from the first day to the last, Ezra read from the Book of the Law of God. The Israelites kept the feast for seven days, and on the eighth day they held an assembly, according to the ordinance.

保羅第三次出發

²³住了些日子，又離開那裡，挨次經過加拉太和弗呂家地方，堅固眾門徒。After Paul had spent some time in Antioch, he traveled from place to place throughout the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.

亞波羅在以弗所

²⁴有一個猶太人，名叫亞波羅，來到以弗所。他生在亞歷山大，是有學問（或譯：口才）的，最能講解聖經。Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, well versed in the Scriptures.

²⁵這人已經在主的道上受了教訓，心裡火熱，將耶穌的事詳細講論教訓人；只是他單曉得約翰的洗禮。He had been instructed in the way of the Lord and was fervent in spirit. He spoke and taught accurately about Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John.

²⁶他在會堂裡放膽講道；百基拉、亞居拉聽見，就接他來，將　神的道給他講解更加詳細。And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

亞波羅往亞該亞

²⁷他想要往亞該亞去，弟兄們就勉勵他，並寫信請門徒接待他（或譯：弟兄們就寫信勸門徒接待他）。他到了那裡，多幫助那蒙恩信主的人，When Apollos resolved to cross over to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. On his arrival, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed.

²⁸在眾人面前極有能力駁倒猶太人，引聖經證明耶穌是基督。For he powerfully refuted the Jews in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ.

以弗所的十二個門徒

¹亞波羅在哥林多的時候，保羅經過了上邊一帶地方，就來到以弗所；在那裡遇見幾個門徒，While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the interior and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples

²問他們說：「你們信的時候受了聖靈沒有？」他們回答說：「沒有，也未曾聽見有聖靈賜下來。」and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?” “No,” they answered, “we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

³保羅說：「這樣，你們受的是甚麼洗呢？」他們說：「是約翰的洗。」“Into what, then, were you baptized?” Paul asked. “The baptism of John,” they replied.

⁴保羅說：「約翰所行的是悔改的洗，告訴百姓當信那在他以後要來的，就是耶穌。」Paul explained: “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the One coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”

⁵他們聽見這話，就奉主耶穌的名受洗。On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

⁶保羅按手在他們頭上，聖靈便降在他們身上，他們就說方言，又說預言（或譯：又講道）。And when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

⁷一共約有十二個人。There were about twelve men in all.

在會堂和推喇奴的學房辯論

⁸保羅進會堂，放膽講道，一連三個月，辯論　神國的事，勸化眾人。Then Paul went into the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.

⁹後來，有些人心裡剛硬不信，在眾人面前毀謗這道，保羅就離開他們，也叫門徒與他們分離，便在推喇奴的學房天天辯論。But when some of them stubbornly refused to believe and publicly maligned the Way, Paul took his disciples and left the synagogue to conduct daily discussions in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.

¹⁰這樣有兩年之久，叫一切住在亞細亞的，無論是猶太人，是希臘人，都聽見主的道。This continued for two years, so that everyone who lived in the province of Asia, Jews and Greeks alike, heard the word of the Lord.

神藉保羅行非常的奇事

¹¹神藉保羅的手行了些非常的奇事；God did extraordinary miracles through the hands of Paul,

¹²甚至有人從保羅身上拿手巾或圍裙放在病人身上，病就退了，惡鬼也出去了。so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and the diseases and evil spirits left them.

士基瓦七個兒子的事

¹³那時，有幾個遊行各處、念咒趕鬼的猶太人，向那被惡鬼附的人擅自稱主耶穌的名，說：「我奉保羅所傳的耶穌敕令你們出來！」Now there were some itinerant Jewish exorcists who tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those with evil spirits. They would say, “I command you by Jesus, whom Paul proclaims.”

¹⁴做這事的，有猶太祭司長士基瓦的七個兒子。Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.

¹⁵惡鬼回答他們說：「耶穌我認識，保羅我也知道。你們卻是誰呢？」But one day the evil spirit responded, “Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?”

¹⁶惡鬼所附的人就跳在他們身上，勝了其中二人，制伏他們，叫他們赤著身子受了傷，從那房子裡逃出去了。Then the man with the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. The attack was so violent that they ran out of the house naked and wounded.

¹⁷凡住在以弗所的，無論是猶太人，是希臘人，都知道這事，也都懼怕；主耶穌的名從此就尊大了。This became known to all the Jews and Greeks living in Ephesus, and fear came over all of them. So the name of the Lord Jesus was held in high honor.

焚燒邪術的書

¹⁸那已經信的，多有人來承認訴說自己所行的事。Many who had believed now came forward, confessing and disclosing their deeds.

¹⁹平素行邪術的，也有許多人把書拿來，堆積在眾人面前焚燒。他們算計書價，便知道共合五萬塊錢。And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books and burned them in front of everyone. When the value of the books was calculated, the total came to fifty thousand drachmas.

²⁰主的道大大興旺，而且得勝，就是這樣。So the word of the Lord powerfully continued to spread and prevail.
