亞她利雅剿滅王室

¹亞哈謝的母親亞她利雅見她兒子死了，就起來剿滅王室。When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs.

²但約蘭王的女兒，亞哈謝的妹子約示巴，將亞哈謝的兒子約阿施從那被殺的王子中偷出來，把他和他的乳母都藏在臥房裡，躲避亞她利雅，免得被殺。But Jehosheba daughter of King Joram, the sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the sons of the king who were being murdered. She put him and his nurse in a bedroom to hide him from Athaliah, and he was not killed.

³約阿施和他的乳母藏在耶和華的殿裡六年；亞她利雅篡了國位。And Joash remained hidden with his nurse in the house of the LORD for six years while Athaliah ruled the land.

耶何耶大安排護衛

⁴第七年，耶何耶大打發人叫迦利人（或譯：親兵）和護衛兵的眾百夫長來，領他們進了耶和華的殿，與他們立約，使他們在耶和華殿裡起誓，又將王的兒子指給他們看，Then in the seventh year, Jehoiada sent for the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, and the guards, and had them brought into the house of the LORD. There he made a covenant with them and put them under oath. He showed them the king’s son

⁵吩咐他們說：「你們當這樣行：凡安息日進班的三分之一要看守王宮，and commanded them, “This is what you are to do: A third of you who come on duty on the Sabbath shall guard the royal palace,

⁶三分之一要在蘇珥門，三分之一要在護衛兵院的後門。這樣把守王宮，攔阻閒人。a third shall be at the gate of Sur, and a third at the gate behind the guards. You are to take turns guarding the temple—

⁷你們安息日所有出班的三分之二要在耶和華的殿裡護衛王；the two divisions that would go off duty on the Sabbath are to guard the house of the LORD for the king.

⁸各人手拿兵器，四圍護衛王。凡擅入你們班次的必當治死，王出入的時候，你們當跟隨他。」You must surround the king with weapons in hand, and anyone who approaches the ranks must be put to death. You must stay close to the king wherever he goes.”

⁹眾百夫長就照著祭司耶何耶大一切所吩咐的去行，各帶所管安息日進班出班的人來見祭司耶何耶大。So the commanders of hundreds did everything that Jehoiada the priest had ordered. Each of them took his men—those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty—and came to Jehoiada the priest.

¹⁰祭司便將耶和華殿裡所藏大衛王的槍和盾牌交給百夫長。Then the priest gave to the commanders of hundreds the spears and shields of King David from the house of the LORD.

¹¹護衛兵手中各拿兵器，在壇和殿那裡，從殿右直到殿左，站在王子的四圍。And the guards stood with weapons in hand surrounding the king by the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.

約阿施被立為王

¹²祭司領王子出來，給他戴上冠冕，將律法書交給他，膏他作王；眾人就拍掌說：「願王萬歲！」Then Jehoiada brought out the king’s son, put the crown on him, presented him with the Testimony, and proclaimed him king. They anointed him, and the people clapped their hands and declared, “Long live the king!”

亞她利雅被殺

¹³亞她利雅聽見護衛兵和民的聲音，就到民那裡，進耶和華的殿，When Athaliah heard the noise from the guards and the people, she went out to the people in the house of the LORD.

¹⁴看見王照例站在柱旁，百夫長和吹號的人侍立在王左右，國中的眾民歡樂吹號；亞她利雅就撕裂衣服，喊叫說：「反了！反了！」And she looked out and saw the king standing by the pillar, according to the custom. The officers and trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed, “Treason! Treason!”

¹⁵祭司耶何耶大吩咐管轄軍兵的百夫長說：「將她趕出班外，凡跟隨她的必用刀殺死！」因為祭司說「不可在耶和華殿裡殺她」，And Jehoiada the priest ordered the commanders of hundreds in charge of the army, “Bring her out between the ranks, and put to the sword anyone who follows her.” For the priest had said, “She must not be put to death in the house of the LORD.”

¹⁶眾兵就閃開讓她去；她從馬路上王宮去，便在那裡被殺。So they seized Athaliah as she reached the horses’ entrance to the palace grounds, and there she was put to death.

與耶和華立約、拆毀巴力廟

¹⁷耶何耶大使王和民與耶和華立約，作耶和華的民；又使王與民立約。Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people that they would be the LORD’s people. He also made a covenant between the king and the people.

¹⁸於是國民都到巴力廟，拆毀了廟，打碎壇和像，又在壇前將巴力的祭司瑪坦殺了。祭司耶何耶大派官看守耶和華的殿，So all the people of the land went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces, and they killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars. And Jehoiada the priest posted guards for the house of the LORD.

¹⁹又率領百夫長和迦利人（或譯：親兵）與護衛兵，以及國中的眾民，請王從耶和華殿下來，由護衛兵的門進入王宮，他就坐了王位。He took with him the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the guards, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king down from the house of the LORD and entered the royal palace by way of the Gate of the Guards. Then Joash took his seat on the royal throne,

²⁰國民都歡樂，閤城都安靜。眾人已將亞她利雅在王宮那裡用刀殺了。and all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because Athaliah had been put to the sword at the royal palace.

七歲登基

²¹約阿施登基的時候年方七歲。Joash was seven years old when he became king.

約阿施行正的事

¹耶戶第七年，約阿施登基，在耶路撒冷作王四十年。他母親名叫西比亞，是別是巴人。In the seventh year of Jehu, Joash became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba.

²約阿施在祭司耶何耶大教訓他的時候，就行耶和華眼中看為正的事；And Joash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days he was instructed by Jehoiada the priest.

³只是邱壇還沒有廢去，百姓仍在那裡獻祭燒香。Nevertheless, the high places were not removed; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense there.

收銀子修理聖殿

⁴約阿施對眾祭司說：「凡奉到耶和華殿分別為聖之物所值通用的銀子，或各人當納的身價，或樂意奉到耶和華殿的銀子，Then Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money brought as sacred gifts into the house of the LORD—the census money, the money from vows, and the money brought voluntarily into the house of the LORD.

⁵你們當從所認識的人收了來，修理殿的一切破壞之處。」Let every priest receive it from his constituency, and let it be used to repair any damage found in the temple.”

⁶無奈到了約阿施王二十三年，祭司仍未修理殿的破壞之處。By the twenty-third year of the reign of Joash, however, the priests had not yet repaired the damage to the temple.

⁷所以約阿施王召了大祭司耶何耶大和眾祭司來，對他們說：「你們怎麼不修理殿的破壞之處呢？從今以後，你們不要從所認識的人再收銀子，要將所收的交出來，修理殿的破壞之處。」So King Joash called Jehoiada and the other priests and said, “Why have you not repaired the damage to the temple? Now, therefore, take no more money from your constituency, but hand it over for the repair of the temple.”

⁸眾祭司答應不再收百姓的銀子，也不修理殿的破壞之處。So the priests agreed that they would not receive money from the people and that they would not repair the temple themselves.

鑽孔的奉獻櫃

⁹祭司耶何耶大取了一個櫃子，在櫃蓋上鑽了一個窟窿，放於壇旁，在進耶和華殿的右邊；守門的祭司將奉到耶和華殿的一切銀子投在櫃裡。Then Jehoiada the priest took a chest, bored a hole in its lid, and set it beside the altar on the right side as one enters the house of the LORD. There the priests who guarded the threshold put all the money brought into the house of the LORD.

¹⁰他們見櫃裡的銀子多了，便叫王的書記和大祭司上來，將耶和華殿裡的銀子數算包起來。Whenever they saw that there was a large amount of money in the chest, the royal scribe and the high priest would go up, count the money brought into the house of the LORD, and tie it up in bags.

¹¹把所平的銀子交給督工的，就是耶和華殿裡辦事的人；他們把銀子轉交修理耶和華殿的木匠和工人，Then they would put the counted money into the hands of those who supervised the work on the house of the LORD, who in turn would pay those doing the work—the carpenters, builders,

¹²並瓦匠、石匠，又買木料和鑿成的石頭，修理耶和華殿的破壞之處，以及修理殿的各樣使用。masons, and stonecutters. They also purchased timber and dressed stone to repair the damage to the house of the LORD, and they paid the other expenses of the temple repairs.

¹³但那奉到耶和華殿的銀子，沒有用以做耶和華殿裡的銀杯、蠟剪、碗、號，和別樣的金銀器皿，However, the money brought into the house of the LORD was not used for making silver basins, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, trumpets, or any articles of gold or silver for the house of the LORD.

¹⁴乃將那銀子交給督工的人修理耶和華的殿；Instead, it was paid to those doing the work, and with it they repaired the house of the LORD.

¹⁵且將銀子交給辦事的人轉交做工的人，不與他們算賬，因為他們辦事誠實。No accounting was required from the men who received the money to pay the workmen, because they acted with integrity.

¹⁶惟有贖愆祭、贖罪祭的銀子沒有奉到耶和華的殿，都歸祭司。The money from the guilt offerings and sin offerings was not brought into the house of the LORD; it belonged to the priests.

用聖物向哈薛求和

¹⁷那時，亞蘭王哈薛上來攻打迦特，攻取了，就定意上來攻打耶路撒冷。At that time Hazael king of Aram marched up and fought against Gath and captured it. Then he decided to attack Jerusalem.

¹⁸猶大王約阿施將他列祖猶大王約沙法、約蘭、亞哈謝所分別為聖的物和自己所分別為聖的物，並耶和華殿與王宮府庫裡所有的金子都送給亞蘭王哈薛；哈薛就不上耶路撒冷來了。So King Joash of Judah took all the sacred objects dedicated by his fathers—Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and Ahaziah, the kings of Judah—along with his own consecrated items and all the gold found in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal palace, and he sent them to Hazael king of Aram. So Hazael withdrew from Jerusalem.

約阿施被臣僕所殺

¹⁹約阿施其餘的事，凡他所行的都寫在猶大列王記上。As for the rest of the acts of Joash, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

²⁰約阿施的臣僕起來背叛，在下悉拉的米羅宮那裡將他殺了。And the servants of Joash rose up and formed a conspiracy and killed him at Beth-millo, on the road down to Silla.

²¹殺他的那臣僕就是示米押的兒子約撒甲和朔默的兒子約薩拔。眾人將他葬在大衛城他列祖的墳地裡。他兒子亞瑪謝接續他作王。His servants Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer struck him down, and he died. And they buried him with his fathers in the City of David, and his son Amaziah reigned in his place.

耶穌隱藏了

³⁶你們應當趁著有光，信從這光，使你們成為光明之子。」耶穌說了這話，就離開他們隱藏了。While you have the Light, believe in the Light, so that you may become sons of light.” After Jesus had spoken these things, He went away and was hidden from them.

眾人還是不信

³⁷他雖然在他們面前行了許多神蹟，他們還是不信他。Although Jesus had performed so many signs in their presence, they still did not believe in Him.

³⁸這是要應驗先知以賽亞的話，說：主啊，我們所傳的有誰信呢？主的膀臂向誰顯露呢？This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord, who has believed our message? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

³⁹他們所以不能信，因為以賽亞又說：For this reason they were unable to believe. For again, Isaiah says:

⁴⁰主叫他們瞎了眼，硬了心，免得他們眼睛看見，心裡明白，回轉過來，我就醫治他們。“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they cannot see with their eyes, and understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.”

⁴¹以賽亞因為看見他的榮耀，就指著他說這話。Isaiah said these things because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about Him.

官長怕被趕出會堂

⁴²雖然如此，官長中卻有好些信他的，只因法利賽人的緣故，就不承認，恐怕被趕出會堂。Nevertheless, many of the leaders believed in Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue.

⁴³這是因他們愛人的榮耀過於愛　神的榮耀。For they loved praise from men more than praise from God.

耶穌最後的公開呼籲

⁴⁴耶穌大聲說：「信我的，不是信我，乃是信那差我來的。Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in Me does not believe in Me alone, but in the One who sent Me.

⁴⁵人看見我，就是看見那差我來的。And whoever sees Me sees the One who sent Me.

⁴⁶我到世上來，乃是光，叫凡信我的，不住在黑暗裡。I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in Me should remain in darkness.

⁴⁷若有人聽見我的話不遵守，我不審判他。我來本不是要審判世界，乃是要拯救世界。As for anyone who hears My words and does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world.

⁴⁸棄絕我、不領受我話的人，有審判他的─就是我所講的道在末日要審判他。There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not receive My words: The word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

⁴⁹因為我沒有憑著自己講，惟有差我來的父已經給我命令，叫我說甚麼，講甚麼。I have not spoken on My own, but the Father who sent Me has commanded Me what to say and how to say it.

⁵⁰我也知道他的命令就是永生。故此，我所講的話正是照著父對我所說的。」And I know that His command leads to eternal life. So I speak exactly what the Father has told Me to say.”
