神呼召約書亞接續摩西

¹耶和華的僕人摩西死了以後，耶和華曉諭摩西的幫手，嫩的兒子約書亞，說：Now after the death of His servant Moses, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying,

²「我的僕人摩西死了。現在你要起來，和眾百姓過這約旦河，往我所要賜給以色列人的地去。“Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore arise, you and all these people, and cross over the Jordan into the land that I am giving to the children of Israel.

³凡你們腳掌所踏之地，我都照著我所應許摩西的話賜給你們了。I have given you every place where the sole of your foot will tread, just as I promised to Moses.

⁴從曠野和這黎巴嫩，直到幼發拉底大河，赫人的全地，又到大海日落之處，都要作你們的境界。Your territory shall extend from the wilderness and Lebanon to the great River Euphrates—all the land of the Hittites—and west as far as the Great Sea.

⁵你平生的日子，必無一人能在你面前站立得住。我怎樣與摩西同在，也必照樣與你同在；我必不撇下你，也不丟棄你。No one shall stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so will I be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.

剛強壯膽，晝夜思想律法

⁶你當剛強壯膽！因為你必使這百姓承受那地為業，就是我向他們列祖起誓應許賜給他們的地。Be strong and courageous, for you shall give these people the inheritance of the land that I swore to their fathers I would give them.

⁷只要剛強，大大壯膽，謹守遵行我僕人摩西所吩咐你的一切律法，不可偏離左右，使你無論往哪裡去，都可以順利。Above all, be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe all the law that My servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper wherever you go.

⁸這律法書不可離開你的口，總要晝夜思想，好使你謹守遵行這書上所寫的一切話。如此，你的道路就可以亨通，凡事順利。This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in all you do.

⁹我豈沒有吩咐你嗎？你當剛強壯膽！不要懼怕，也不要驚惶；因為你無論往哪裡去，耶和華─你的　神必與你同在。」Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

預備三日內過河

¹⁰於是，約書亞吩咐百姓的官長說：Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people:

¹¹「你們要走遍營中，吩咐百姓說：『當預備食物；因為三日之內你們要過這約旦河，進去得耶和華─你們　神賜你們為業之地。』」“Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Prepare your provisions, for within three days you will cross the Jordan to go in and take possession of the land that the LORD your God is giving you to possess.’”

兩個半支派要先過河爭戰

¹²約書亞對流便人、迦得人，和瑪拿西半支派的人說：But to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joshua said,

¹³「你們要追念耶和華的僕人摩西所吩咐你們的話說：『耶和華─你們的　神使你們得享平安，也必將這地賜給你們。』“Remember what Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you when he said, ‘The LORD your God will give you rest, and He will give you this land.’

¹⁴你們的妻子、孩子，和牲畜都可以留在約旦河東、摩西所給你們的地；但你們中間一切大能的勇士都要帶著兵器在你們的弟兄前面過去，幫助他們，Your wives, your young children, and your livestock may remain in the land that Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But all your mighty men of valor must be armed for battle to cross over ahead of your brothers and help them,

¹⁵等到耶和華使你們的弟兄像你們一樣得享平安，並且得著耶和華─你們　神所賜他們為業之地，那時才可以回你們所得之地，承受為業，就是耶和華的僕人摩西在約旦河東、向日出之地所給你們的。」until the LORD gives them rest as He has done for you, and your brothers also possess the land that the LORD your God is giving them. Then you may return to the land of your inheritance and take possession of that which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the east side of the Jordan.”

百姓答應聽從約書亞

¹⁶他們回答約書亞說：「你所吩咐我們行的，我們都必行；你所差遣我們去的，我們都必去。So they answered Joshua, “Everything you have commanded us we will do, and everywhere you send us we will go.

¹⁷我們從前在一切事上怎樣聽從摩西，現在也必照樣聽從你；惟願耶和華─你的　神與你同在，像與摩西同在一樣。Just as we obeyed Moses in all things, so we will obey you. And may the LORD your God be with you, as He was with Moses.

¹⁸無論甚麼人違背你的命令，不聽從你所吩咐他的一切話，就必治死他。你只要剛強壯膽！」Anyone who rebels against your order and does not obey your words, all that you command him, will be put to death. Above all, be strong and courageous!”

兩個探子進耶利哥

¹當下，嫩的兒子約書亞從什亭暗暗打發兩個人作探子，吩咐說：「你們去窺探那地和耶利哥。」於是二人去了，來到一個妓女名叫喇合的家裡，就在那裡躺臥。Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim, saying, “Go, inspect the land, especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.

²有人告訴耶利哥王說：「今夜有以色列人來到這裡窺探此地。」And it was reported to the king of Jericho: “Behold, some men of Israel have come here tonight to spy out the land.”

³耶利哥王打發人去見喇合說：「那來到你這裡、進了你家的人要交出來，因為他們來窺探全地。」So the king of Jericho sent to Rahab and said, “Bring out the men who came to you and entered your house, for they have come to spy out the whole land.”

⁴女人將二人隱藏，就回答說：「那人果然到我這裡來；他們是哪裡來的我卻不知道。But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. So she said, “Yes, the men did come to me, but I did not know where they had come from.

⁵天黑、要關城門的時候，他們出去了，往哪裡去我卻不知道。你們快快地去追趕，就必追上。」At dusk, when the gate was about to close, the men went out, and I do not know which way they went. Pursue them quickly, and you may catch them!”

⁶（先是女人領二人上了房頂，將他們藏在那裡所擺的麻秸中。）(But Rahab had taken them up to the roof and hidden them among the stalks of flax that she had laid out there.)

⁷那些人就往約旦河的渡口追趕他們去了。追趕他們的人一出去，城門就關了。So the king’s men set out in pursuit of the spies along the road to the fords of the Jordan, and as soon as they had gone out, the gate was shut.

喇合的告白

⁸二人還沒有躺臥，女人就上房頂，到他們那裡，Before the spies lay down for the night, Rahab went up on the roof

⁹對他們說：「我知道耶和華已經把這地賜給你們，並且因你們的緣故我們都驚慌了。這地的一切居民在你們面前心都消化了；and said to them, “I know that the LORD has given you this land and that the fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who dwell in the land are melting in fear of you.

¹⁰因為我們聽見你們出埃及的時候，耶和華怎樣在你們前面使紅海的水乾了，並且你們怎樣待約旦河東的兩個亞摩利王西宏和噩，將他們盡行毀滅。For we have heard how the LORD dried up the waters of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites across the Jordan, whom you devoted to destruction.

¹¹我們一聽見這些事，心就消化了。因你們的緣故，並無一人有膽氣。耶和華─你們的　神本是上天下地的　神。When we heard this, our hearts melted and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the LORD your God is God in the heavens above and on the earth below.

求探子起誓保全她家

¹²現在我既是恩待你們，求你們指著耶和華向我起誓，也要恩待我父家，並給我一個實在的證據，Now therefore, please swear to me by the LORD that you will indeed show kindness to my family, because I showed kindness to you. Give me a sure sign

¹³要救活我的父母、弟兄、姊妹，和一切屬他們的，拯救我們性命不死。」that you will spare the lives of my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them, and that you will deliver us from death.”

¹⁴二人對她說：「你若不洩漏我們這件事，我們情願替你們死。耶和華將這地賜給我們的時候，我們必以慈愛誠實待你。」“Our lives for your lives!” the men agreed. “If you do not report our mission, we will show you kindness and faithfulness when the LORD gives us the land.”

從窗戶縋下

¹⁵於是女人用繩子將二人從窗戶裡縋下去；因她的房子是在城牆邊上，她也住在城牆上。Then Rahab let them down by a rope through the window, since the house where she lived was built into the wall of the city.

¹⁶她對他們說：「你們且往山上去，恐怕追趕的人碰見你們；要在那裡隱藏三天，等追趕的人回來，然後才可以走你們的路。」“Go to the hill country,” she said, “so that your pursuers will not find you. Hide yourselves there for three days until they have returned; then go on your way.”

¹⁷二人對她說：「你要這樣行。不然，你叫我們所起的誓就與我們無干了。The men said to her, “We will not be bound by this oath you made us swear

¹⁸我們來到這地的時候，你要把這條朱紅線繩繫在縋我們下去的窗戶上，並要使你的父母、弟兄，和你父的全家都聚集在你家中。unless, when we enter the land, you have tied this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you have brought your father and mother and brothers and all your family into your house.

¹⁹凡出了你家門往街上去的，他的罪（原文是血）必歸到自己的頭上，與我們無干了。凡在你家裡的，若有人下手害他，流他血的罪就歸到我們的頭上。If anyone goes out the door of your house into the street, his blood will be on his own head, and we will be innocent. But if a hand is laid on anyone with you in the house, his blood will be on our heads.

²⁰你若洩漏我們這件事，你叫我們所起的誓就與我們無干了。」And if you report our mission, we will be released from the oath you made us swear.”

²¹女人說：「照你們的話行吧！」於是打發他們去了，又把朱紅線繩繫在窗戶上。“Let it be as you say,” she replied, and she sent them away. And when they had gone, she tied the scarlet cord in the window.

探子藏身山上，回報約書亞

²²二人到山上，在那裡住了三天，等著追趕的人回去了。追趕的人一路找他們，卻找不著。So the spies went out into the hill country and stayed there three days, until their pursuers had returned without finding them, having searched all along the road.

²³二人就下山回來，過了河，到嫩的兒子約書亞那裡，向他述說所遭遇的一切事；Then the two men started back, came down from the hill country, and crossed the river. So they came to Joshua son of Nun and reported all that had happened to them.

²⁴又對約書亞說：「耶和華果然將那全地交在我們手中；那地的一切居民在我們面前心都消化了。」“The LORD has surely delivered the entire land into our hands,” they said to Joshua. “Indeed, all who dwell in the land are melting in fear of us.”

整夜禱告後揀選十二使徒

¹²那時，耶穌出去，上山禱告，整夜禱告　神；In those days Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and He spent the night in prayer to God.

¹³到了天亮，叫他的門徒來，就從他們中間挑選十二個人，稱他們為使徒。When daylight came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also designated as apostles:

¹⁴這十二個人有西門（耶穌又給他起名叫彼得），還有他兄弟安得烈，又有雅各和約翰，腓力和巴多羅買，Simon, whom He named Peter, and his brother Andrew; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew;

¹⁵馬太和多馬，亞勒腓的兒子雅各和奮銳黨的西門，Matthew and Thomas; James son of Alphaeus and Simon called the Zealot;

¹⁶雅各的兒子（或譯：兄弟）猶大，和賣主的加略人猶大。Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

眾人從各地來求醫

¹⁷耶穌和他們下了山，站在一塊平地上；同站的有許多門徒，又有許多百姓，從猶太全地和耶路撒冷，並泰爾、西頓的海邊來，都要聽他講道，又指望醫治他們的病；Then Jesus came down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of His disciples was there, along with a great number of people from all over Judea, Jerusalem, and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon.

¹⁸還有被污鬼纏磨的，也得了醫治。They had come to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases, and those troubled by unclean spirits were healed.

¹⁹眾人都想要摸他；因為有能力從他身上發出來，醫好了他們。The entire crowd was trying to touch Him, because power was coming from Him and healing them all.

四種有福的人

²⁰耶穌舉目看著門徒，說：你們貧窮的人有福了！因為　神的國是你們的。Looking up at His disciples, Jesus said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

²¹你們飢餓的人有福了！因為你們將要飽足。你們哀哭的人有福了！因為你們將要喜笑。Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.

²²「人為人子恨惡你們，拒絕你們，辱罵你們，棄掉你們的名，以為是惡，你們就有福了！Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil because of the Son of Man.

²³當那日，你們要歡喜跳躍，因為你們在天上的賞賜是大的。他們的祖宗待先知也是這樣。Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For their fathers treated the prophets in the same way.

四種有禍的人

²⁴但你們富足的人有禍了！因為你們受過你們的安慰。But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort.

²⁵你們飽足的人有禍了！因為你們將要飢餓。你們喜笑的人有禍了！因為你們將要哀慟哭泣。Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will hunger. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.

²⁶「人都說你們好的時候，你們就有禍了！因為他們的祖宗待假先知也是這樣。」Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers treated the false prophets in the same way.

要愛仇敵

²⁷「只是我告訴你們這聽道的人，你們的仇敵，要愛他！恨你們的，要待他好！But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

²⁸咒詛你們的，要為他祝福！凌辱你們的，要為他禱告！bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

²⁹有人打你這邊的臉，連那邊的臉也由他打。有人奪你的外衣，連裡衣也由他拿去。If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone takes your cloak, do not withhold your tunic as well.

³⁰凡求你的，就給他。有人奪你的東西去，不用再要回來。Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what is yours, do not demand it back.

³²你們若單愛那愛你們的人，有甚麼可酬謝的呢？就是罪人也愛那愛他們的人。If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.

³³你們若善待那善待你們的人，有甚麼可酬謝的呢？就是罪人也是這樣行。If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.

³⁴你們若借給人，指望從他收回，有甚麼可酬謝的呢？就是罪人也借給罪人，要如數收回。And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.

³⁵你們倒要愛仇敵，也要善待他們，並要借給人不指望償還，你們的賞賜就必大了，你們也必作至高者的兒子；因為他恩待那忘恩的和作惡的。But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

³⁶你們要慈悲，像你們的父慈悲一樣。」Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

不要論斷人

³⁷「你們不要論斷人，就不被論斷；你們不要定人的罪，就不被定罪；你們要饒恕人，就必蒙饒恕（饒恕：原文是釋放）；Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

³⁸你們要給人，就必有給你們的，並且用十足的升斗，連搖帶按，上尖下流地倒在你們懷裡；因為你們用甚麼量器量給人，也必用甚麼量器量給你們。」Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”

瞎子領瞎子

³⁹耶穌又用比喻對他們說：「瞎子豈能領瞎子，兩個人不是都要掉在坑裡嗎？Jesus also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?

⁴⁰學生不能高過先生；凡學成了的不過和先生一樣。A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.

⁴¹為甚麼看見你弟兄眼中有刺，卻不想自己眼中有樑木呢？Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?

⁴²你不見自己眼中有樑木，怎能對你弟兄說：『容我去掉你眼中的刺』呢？你這假冒為善的人！先去掉自己眼中的樑木，然後才能看得清楚，去掉你弟兄眼中的刺。」How can you say, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while you yourself fail to see the beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

樹憑果子認出來

⁴³「因為，沒有好樹結壞果子，也沒有壞樹結好果子。No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.

⁴⁴凡樹木看果子，就可以認出它來。人不是從荊棘上摘無花果，也不是從蒺藜裡摘葡萄。For each tree is known by its own fruit. Indeed, figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor grapes from brambles.

⁴⁵善人從他心裡所存的善就發出善來；惡人從他心裡所存的惡就發出惡來；因為心裡所充滿的，口裡就說出來。」The good man brings good things out of the good treasure of his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil treasure of his heart. For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.

蓋在磐石上的房子

⁴⁶「你們為甚麼稱呼我『主啊，主啊』卻不遵我的話行呢？Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ but do not do what I say?

⁴⁷凡到我這裡來，聽見我的話就去行的，我要告訴你們他像甚麼人：I will show you what he is like who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them:

⁴⁸他像一個人蓋房子，深深地挖地，把根基安在磐石上；到發大水的時候，水沖那房子，房子總不能搖動，因為根基立在磐石上（有古卷：因為蓋造得好）。He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid his foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the torrent crashed against that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.

⁴⁹惟有聽見不去行的，就像一個人在土地上蓋房子，沒有根基；水一沖，隨即倒塌了，並且那房子壞的很大。」But the one who hears My words and does not act on them is like a man who built his house on ground without a foundation. The torrent crashed against that house, and immediately it fell—and great was its destruction!”
