耶和華的話臨到哈該

¹大流士王第二年六月初一日，耶和華的話藉先知哈該向猶大省長撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞說：In the second year of the reign of Darius, on the first day of the sixth month, the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, stating

百姓說建殿的時候未到

²萬軍之耶和華如此說：「這百姓說，建造耶和華殿的時候尚未來到。」that this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “These people say, ‘The time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the LORD.’”

³那時耶和華的話臨到先知哈該說：Then the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet, saying:

⁴「這殿仍然荒涼，你們自己還住天花板的房屋嗎？“Is it a time for you yourselves to live in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?”

要省察自己的行為

⁵現在萬軍之耶和華如此說：你們要省察自己的行為。Now this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Consider carefully your ways.

⁶你們撒的種多，收的卻少；你們吃，卻不得飽；喝，卻不得足；穿衣服，卻不得暖；得工錢的，將工錢裝在破漏的囊中。」You have planted much but harvested little. You eat but never have enough. You drink but never have your fill. You put on clothes but never get warm. You earn wages to put into a bag pierced through.”

⁷萬軍之耶和華如此說：「你們要省察自己的行為。This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Consider carefully your ways.

⁸你們要上山取木料，建造這殿，我就因此喜樂，且得榮耀。這是耶和華說的。Go up into the hills, bring down lumber, and build the house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified, says the LORD.

⁹你們盼望多得，所得的卻少；你們收到家中，我就吹去。這是為甚麼呢？因為我的殿荒涼，你們各人卻顧（原文是奔）自己的房屋。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。You expected much, but behold, it amounted to little. And what you brought home, I blew away. Why? declares the LORD of Hosts. Because My house still lies in ruins, while each of you is busy with his own house.

¹⁰所以為你們的緣故，天就不降甘露，地也不出土產。Therefore, on account of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth has withheld its crops.

¹¹我命乾旱臨到地土、山岡、五穀、新酒，和油，並地上的出產、人民、牲畜，以及人手一切勞碌得來的。」I have summoned a drought on the fields and on the mountains, on the grain, new wine, and oil, and on whatever the ground yields, on man and beast, and on all the labor of your hands.”

百姓聽從，動工建殿

¹²那時，撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞，並剩下的百姓，都聽從耶和華─他們　神的話和先知哈該奉耶和華─他們　神差來所說的話；百姓也在耶和華面前存敬畏的心。Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God and the words of the prophet Haggai, because the LORD their God had sent him. So the people feared the LORD.

¹³耶和華的使者哈該奉耶和華差遣對百姓說：「耶和華說：我與你們同在。」Haggai, the messenger of the LORD, delivered the message of the LORD to the people: “I am with you,” declares the LORD.

¹⁴耶和華激動猶大省長撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞，並剩下之百姓的心，他們就來為萬軍之耶和華─他們　神的殿做工。So the LORD stirred the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, as well as the spirit of all the remnant of the people. And they came and began the work on the house of the LORD of Hosts, their God,

¹⁵這是在大流士王第二年六月二十四日。on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of King Darius.

誰見過這殿從前的榮耀

¹七月二十一日，耶和華的話臨到先知哈該說：On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet, saying:

²「你要曉諭猶大省長撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞，並剩下的百姓，說：“Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and also to the remnant of the people. Ask them,

³你們中間存留的，有誰見過這殿從前的榮耀呢？現在你們看著如何？豈不在眼中看如無有嗎？」‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not appear to you like nothing in comparison?’

你們當剛強做工

⁴耶和華說：「所羅巴伯啊，雖然如此，你當剛強！約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞啊，你也當剛強！這地的百姓，你們都當剛強做工，因為我與你們同在。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。But now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD. Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work! For I am with you, declares the LORD of Hosts.

⁵這是照著你們出埃及我與你們立約的話。那時，我的靈住在你們中間，你們不要懼怕。」This is the promise I made to you when you came out of Egypt. And My Spirit remains among you; do not be afraid.”

這殿後來的榮耀必大過先前

⁶萬軍之耶和華如此說：「過不多時，我必再一次震動天地、滄海，與旱地。For this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.

⁷我必震動萬國；萬國的珍寶必都運來（或譯：萬國所羨慕的必來到），我就使這殿滿了榮耀。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」I will shake all the nations, and they will come with all their treasures, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of Hosts.

⁸萬軍之耶和華說：「銀子是我的，金子也是我的。The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, declares the LORD of Hosts.

⁹這殿後來的榮耀必大過先前的榮耀；在這地方我必賜平安。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former, says the LORD of Hosts. And in this place I will provide peace, declares the LORD of Hosts.”

向祭司問潔淨與污穢

¹⁰大流士王第二年九月二十四日，耶和華的話臨到先知哈該說：On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Haggai the prophet, saying,

¹¹萬軍之耶和華如此說：「你要向祭司問律法，“This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Ask the priests for a ruling.

¹²說：若有人用衣襟兜聖肉，這衣襟挨著餅，或湯，或酒，或油，或別的食物，便算為聖嗎？」祭司說：「不算為聖。」If a man carries consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does that item become holy?’” “No,” replied the priests.

¹³哈該又說：「若有人因摸死屍染了污穢，然後挨著這些物的哪一樣，這物算污穢嗎？」祭司說：「必算污穢。」So Haggai asked, “If one who is defiled by contact with a corpse touches any of these, does it become defiled?” “Yes, it becomes defiled,” the priests answered.

¹⁴於是哈該說：「耶和華說：這民這國，在我面前也是如此；他們手下的各樣工作都是如此；他們在壇上所獻的也是如此。」Then Haggai replied, “So it is with this people and this nation before Me, declares the LORD, and so it is with every work of their hands; whatever they offer there is defiled.

從今日起我必賜福

¹⁵現在你們要追想，此日以前，耶和華的殿沒有一塊石頭壘在石頭上的光景。Now consider carefully from this day forward: Before one stone was placed on another in the temple of the LORD,

¹⁶在那一切日子，有人來到穀堆，想得二十斗，只得了十斗。有人來到酒池，想得五十桶，只得了二十桶。from that time, when one came expecting a heap of twenty ephahs of grain, there were but ten. When one came to the winepress to draw out fifty baths, there were but twenty.

¹⁷在你們手下的各樣工作上，我以旱風、霉爛、冰雹攻擊你們，你們仍不歸向我。這是耶和華說的。I struck you—all the work of your hands—with blight, mildew, and hail, but you did not turn to Me, declares the LORD.

¹⁸你們要追想此日以前，就是從這九月二十四日起，追想到立耶和華殿根基的日子。Consider carefully from this day forward—from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, the day the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid—consider carefully:

¹⁹倉裡有穀種嗎？葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹、橄欖樹都沒有結果子。從今日起，我必賜福與你們。Is there still seed in the barn? The vine, the fig, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yet yielded fruit. But from this day on, I will bless you.”

我必以所羅巴伯為印

²⁰這月二十四日，耶和華的話二次臨到哈該說：For the second time that day, the twenty-fourth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to Haggai, saying,

²¹「你要告訴猶大省長所羅巴伯說：我必震動天地。“Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I am about to shake the heavens and the earth:

²²我必傾覆列國的寶座，除滅列邦的勢力，並傾覆戰車和坐在其上的。馬必跌倒，騎馬的敗落，各人被弟兄的刀所殺。I will overturn royal thrones and destroy the power of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overturn chariots and their riders; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.

²³萬軍之耶和華說：我僕人撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯啊，到那日，我必以你為印，因我揀選了你。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。」On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I will take you, My servant, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, declares the LORD, and I will make you like My signet ring, for I have chosen you, declares the LORD of Hosts.”

巴比倫大城傾倒了

¹此後，我看見另有一位有大權柄的天使從天降下，地就因他的榮耀發光。After this I saw another angel descending from heaven with great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his glory.

²他大聲喊著說：巴比倫大城傾倒了！傾倒了！成了鬼魔的住處和各樣污穢之靈的巢穴（或譯：牢獄；下同），並各樣污穢可憎之雀鳥的巢穴。And he cried out in a mighty voice: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a lair for demons and a haunt for every unclean spirit, every unclean bird, and every detestable beast.

³因為列國都被她邪淫大怒的酒傾倒了。地上的君王與她行淫；地上的客商因她奢華太過就發了財。All the nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her immorality. The kings of the earth were immoral with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown wealthy from the extravagance of her luxury.”

我的民哪，要從那城出來

⁴我又聽見從天上有聲音說：我的民哪，你們要從那城出來，免得與她一同有罪，受她所受的災殃；Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, My people, so that you will not share in her sins or contract any of her plagues.

⁵因她的罪惡滔天；她的不義，　神已經想起來了。For her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

⁶她怎樣待人，也要怎樣待她，按她所行的加倍地報應她；用她調酒的杯加倍地調給她喝。Give back to her as she has done to others; pay her back double for what she has done; mix her a double portion in her own cup.

⁷她怎樣榮耀自己，怎樣奢華，也當叫她照樣痛苦悲哀，因她心裡說：我坐了皇后的位，並不是寡婦，決不至於悲哀。As much as she has glorified herself and lived in luxury, give her the same measure of torment and grief. In her heart she says, ‘I sit as queen; I am not a widow and will never see grief.’

⁸所以在一天之內，她的災殃要一齊來到，就是死亡、悲哀、饑荒。她又要被火燒盡了，因為審判她的主　神大有能力。Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and grief and famine—and she will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”

地上君王的哀哭

⁹地上的君王，素來與她行淫、一同奢華的，看見燒她的煙，就必為她哭泣哀號。Then the kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her will weep and wail at the sight of the smoke rising from the fire that consumes her.

¹⁰因怕她的痛苦，就遠遠地站著說：哀哉！哀哉！巴比倫大城，堅固的城啊，一時之間你的刑罰就來到了。In fear of her torment, they will stand at a distance and cry out: “Woe, woe to the great city, the mighty city of Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.”

客商的哀哭

¹¹地上的客商也都為她哭泣悲哀，因為沒有人再買他們的貨物了；And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because there is no one left to buy their cargo—

¹²這貨物就是金、銀、寶石、珍珠、細麻布、紫色料、綢子、朱紅色料、各樣香木、各樣象牙的器皿、各樣極寶貴的木頭，和銅、鐵、漢白玉的器皿，cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, and pearls; of fine linen, purple, silk, and scarlet; of all kinds of citron wood and every article of ivory, precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;

¹³並肉桂、荳蔻、香料、香膏、乳香、酒、油、細麵、麥子、牛、羊、車、馬，和奴僕、人口。of cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, and frankincense; of wine, olive oil, fine flour, and wheat; of cattle, sheep, horses, and carriages; of bodies and souls of slaves.

¹⁴巴比倫哪，你所貪愛的果子離開了你；你一切的珍饈美味和華美的物件也從你中間毀滅，決不能再見了。And they will say: “The fruit of your soul’s desire has departed from you; all your luxury and splendor have vanished, never to be seen again.”

¹⁵販賣這些貨物、藉著她發了財的客商，因怕她的痛苦，就遠遠地站著哭泣悲哀，說：The merchants who sold these things and gained their wealth from her will stand at a distance, in fear of her torment. They will weep and mourn,

¹⁶哀哉！哀哉！這大城啊，素常穿著細麻、紫色、朱紅色的衣服，又用金子、寶石，和珍珠為妝飾。saying: “Woe, woe to the great city, clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!

船主和水手遠遠站著

¹⁷一時之間，這麼大的富厚就歸於無有了。凡船主和坐船往各處去的，並眾水手，連所有靠海為業的，都遠遠地站著，For in a single hour such fabulous wealth has been destroyed!” Every shipmaster, passenger, and sailor, and all who make their living from the sea, will stand at a distance

¹⁸看見燒她的煙，就喊著說：「有何城能比這大城呢？」and cry out at the sight of the smoke rising from the fire that consumes her. “What city was ever like this great city?” they will exclaim.

¹⁹他們又把塵土撒在頭上，哭泣悲哀，喊著說：哀哉！哀哉！這大城啊。凡有船在海中的，都因她的珍寶成了富足！她在一時之間就成了荒場！Then they will throw dust on their heads as they weep and mourn and cry out: “Woe, woe to the great city, where all who had ships on the sea were enriched by her wealth! For in a single hour she has been destroyed.”

天哪，要因她歡喜

²⁰天哪，眾聖徒、眾使徒、眾先知啊，你們都要因她歡喜，因為　神已經在她身上伸了你們的冤。Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, because God has pronounced for you His judgment against her.

大磨石扔在海裡

²¹有一位大力的天使舉起一塊石頭，好像大磨石，扔在海裡，說：巴比倫大城也必這樣猛力地被扔下去，決不能再見了。Then a mighty angel picked up a stone the size of a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying: “With such violence the great city of Babylon will be cast down, never to be seen again.

²²彈琴、作樂、吹笛、吹號的聲音，在你中間決不能再聽見；各行手藝人在你中間決不能再遇見；推磨的聲音在你中間決不能再聽見；And the sound of harpists and musicians, of flute players and trumpeters, will never ring out in you again. Nor will any craftsmen of any trade be found in you again, nor the sound of a millstone be heard in you again.

²³燈光在你中間決不能再照耀；新郎和新婦的聲音，在你中間決不能再聽見。你的客商原來是地上的尊貴人；萬國也被你的邪術迷惑了。The light of a lamp will never shine in you again, and the voices of a bride and bridegroom will never call out in you again. For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.”

²⁴先知和聖徒，並地上一切被殺之人的血，都在這城裡看見了。And there was found in her the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who had been slain on the earth.
