摩押的城邑被毀

¹論摩押。萬軍之耶和華─以色列的　神如此說：尼波有禍了！因變為荒場。基列亭蒙羞被攻取；米斯迦蒙羞被毀壞；Concerning Moab, this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “Woe to Nebo, for it will be devastated. Kiriathaim will be captured and disgraced; the fortress will be shattered and dismantled.

²摩押不再被稱讚。有人在希實本設計謀害她，說：來吧！我們將她剪除，不再成國。瑪得緬哪，你也必默默無聲；刀劍必追趕你。There is no longer praise for Moab; in Heshbon they devise evil against her: ‘Come, let us cut her off from nationhood.’ You too, O people of Madmen, will be silenced; the sword will pursue you.

³從何羅念有喊荒涼大毀滅的哀聲：A voice cries out from Horonaim: ‘Devastation and great destruction!’

⁴摩押毀滅了！她的孩童（或譯：家僮）發哀聲，使人聽見。Moab will be shattered; her little ones will cry out.

⁵人上魯希坡隨走隨哭，因為在何羅念的下坡聽見毀滅的哀聲。For on the ascent to Luhith they weep bitterly as they go, and on the descent to Horonaim cries of distress resound over the destruction:

⁶你們要奔逃，自救性命，獨自居住，好像曠野的杜松。‘Flee! Run for your lives! Become like a juniper in the desert.’

倚靠財寶和基抹

⁷你因倚靠自己所做的和自己的財寶必被攻取。基抹和屬他的祭司、首領也要一同被擄去。Because you trust in your works and treasures, you too will be captured, and Chemosh will go into exile with his priests and officials.

⁸行毀滅的必來到各城，並無一城得免。山谷必致敗落，平原必被毀壞；正如耶和華所說的。The destroyer will move against every city, and not one town will escape. The valley will also be ruined, and the high plain will be destroyed, as the LORD has said.

⁹要將翅膀給摩押，使她可以飛去。她的城邑必致荒涼，無人居住。Put salt on Moab, for she will be laid waste; her cities will become desolate, with no one to dwell in them.

¹⁰（懶惰為耶和華行事的，必受咒詛；禁止刀劍不經血的，必受咒詛。）Cursed is the one who is remiss in doing the work of the LORD, and cursed is he who withholds his sword from bloodshed.

如酒在渣滓上澄清

¹¹摩押自幼年以來常享安逸，如酒在渣滓上澄清，沒有從這器皿倒在那器皿裡，也未曾被擄去。因此，它的原味尚存，香氣未變。Moab has been at ease from youth, settled like wine on its dregs; he has not been poured from vessel to vessel or gone into exile. So his flavor has remained the same, and his aroma is unchanged.

¹²耶和華說：「日子將到，我必打發倒酒的往她那裡去，將她倒出來，倒空她的器皿，打碎她的罈子。Therefore behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will send to him wanderers, who will pour him out. They will empty his vessels and shatter his jars.

¹³摩押必因基抹羞愧，像以色列家從前倚靠伯特利的神羞愧一樣。Then Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh, just as the house of Israel was ashamed when they trusted in Bethel.

勇士必遭殺戮

¹⁴你們怎麼說：我們是勇士，是有勇力打仗的呢？How can you say, ‘We are warriors, mighty men ready for battle’?

¹⁵摩押變為荒場，敵人上去進了她的城邑。她所特選的少年人下去遭了殺戮；這是君王─名為萬軍之耶和華說的。Moab has been destroyed and its towns have been invaded; the best of its young men have gone down in the slaughter, declares the King, whose name is the LORD of Hosts.

為摩押悲傷

¹⁶摩押的災殃臨近；她的苦難速速來到。Moab’s calamity is at hand, and his affliction is rushing swiftly.

¹⁷凡在她四圍的和認識她名的，你們都要為她悲傷，說：那結實的杖和那美好的棍，何竟折斷了呢？Mourn for him, all you who surround him, everyone who knows his name; tell how the mighty scepter is shattered—the glorious staff!

¹⁸住在底本的民（原文是女子）哪，要從你榮耀的位上下來，坐受乾渴；因毀滅摩押的上來攻擊你，毀壞了你的保障。Come down from your glory; sit on parched ground, O daughter dwelling in Dibon, for the destroyer of Moab has come against you; he has destroyed your fortresses.

¹⁹住亞羅珥的啊，要站在道旁觀望，問逃避的男人和逃脫的女人說：是甚麼事呢？Stand by the road and watch, O dweller of Aroer! Ask the man fleeing or the woman escaping, ‘What has happened?’

²⁰摩押因毀壞蒙羞；你們要哀號呼喊，要在亞嫩旁報告說：摩押變為荒場！Moab is put to shame, for it has been shattered. Wail and cry out! Declare by the Arnon that Moab is destroyed.

刑罰臨到平原的各城

²¹「刑罰臨到平原之地的何倫、雅雜、米法押、Judgment has come upon the high plain—upon Holon, Jahzah, and Mephaath,

²²底本、尼波、伯‧低比拉太音、upon Dibon, Nebo, and Beth-diblathaim,

²³基列亭、伯‧迦末、伯‧米恩、upon Kiriathaim, Beth-gamul, and Beth-meon,

²⁴加略、波斯拉，和摩押地遠近所有的城邑。upon Kerioth, Bozrah, and all the towns of Moab, those far and near.

²⁵摩押的角砍斷了，摩押的膀臂折斷了。這是耶和華說的。」The horn of Moab has been cut off, and his arm is broken,” declares the LORD.

摩押向耶和華誇大

²⁶「你們要使摩押沉醉，因他向耶和華誇大。他要在自己所吐之中打滾，又要被人嗤笑。“Make him drunk, because he has magnified himself against the LORD; so Moab will wallow in his own vomit, and he will also become a laughingstock.

²⁷摩押啊，你不曾嗤笑以色列嗎？她豈是在賊中查出來的呢？你每逢提到她便搖頭。Was not Israel your object of ridicule? Was he ever found among thieves? For whenever you speak of him you shake your head.

²⁸摩押的居民哪，要離開城邑，住在山崖裡，像鴿子在深淵口上搭窩。Abandon the towns and settle among the rocks, O dwellers of Moab! Be like a dove that nests at the mouth of a cave.

²⁹我們聽說摩押人驕傲，是極其驕傲；聽說他自高自傲，並且狂妄，居心自大。We have heard of Moab’s pomposity, his exceeding pride and conceit, his proud arrogance and haughtiness of heart.

³⁰耶和華說：我知道他的忿怒是虛空的；他誇大的話一無所成。I know his insolence,” declares the LORD, “but it is futile. His boasting is as empty as his deeds.

我要為摩押哀號

³¹因此，我要為摩押哀號，為摩押全地呼喊；人必為吉珥‧哈列設人歎息。Therefore I will wail for Moab; I will cry out for all of Moab; I will moan for the men of Kir-heres.

³²西比瑪的葡萄樹啊，我為你哀哭，甚於雅謝人哀哭。你的枝子蔓延過海，直長到雅謝海。那行毀滅的已經臨到你夏天的果子和你所摘的葡萄。I will weep for you, O vine of Sibmah, more than I weep for Jazer. Your tendrils have extended to the sea; they reach even to Jazer. The destroyer has descended on your summer fruit and grape harvest.

³³肥田和摩押地的歡喜快樂都被奪去；我使酒醡的酒絕流，無人踹酒歡呼；那歡呼卻變為仇敵的吶喊（原文是那歡呼卻不是歡呼）。Joy and gladness are removed from the orchard and from the fields of Moab. I have stopped the flow of wine from the presses; no one treads them with shouts of joy; their shouts are not for joy.

³⁴「希實本人發的哀聲達到以利亞利，直達到雅雜；從瑣珥達到何羅念，直到伊基拉‧施利施亞，因為寧林的水必然乾涸。」There is a cry from Heshbon to Elealeh; they raise their voices to Jahaz, from Zoar to Horonaim and Eglath-shelishiyah; for even the waters of Nimrim have dried up.

³⁵耶和華說：「我必在摩押地使那在邱壇獻祭的，和那向他的神燒香的都斷絕了。In Moab, declares the LORD, I will bring an end to those who make offerings on the high places and burn incense to their gods.

³⁶我心腹為摩押哀鳴如簫，我心腸為吉珥•哈列設人也是如此，因摩押人所得的財物都滅沒了。Therefore My heart laments like a flute for Moab; it laments like a flute for the men of Kir-heres, because the wealth they acquired has perished.

³⁷「各人頭上光禿，鬍鬚剪短，手有劃傷，腰束麻布。For every head is shaved and every beard is clipped; on every hand is a gash, and around every waist is sackcloth.

³⁸在摩押的各房頂上和街市上處處有人哀哭；因我打碎摩押，好像打碎無人喜悅的器皿。這是耶和華說的。On all the rooftops of Moab and in the public squares, everyone is mourning; for I have shattered Moab like an unwanted jar,” declares the LORD.

³⁹摩押何等毀壞！何等哀號！何等羞愧轉背！這樣，摩押必令四圍的人嗤笑驚駭。」“How shattered it is! How they wail! How Moab has turned his back in shame! Moab has become an object of ridicule and horror to all those around him.”

仇敵如大鷹飛起

⁴⁰耶和華如此說：仇敵必如大鷹飛起，展開翅膀，攻擊摩押。For this is what the LORD says: “Behold, an eagle swoops down and spreads his wings against Moab.

⁴¹加略被攻取，保障也被佔據。到那日，摩押的勇士心中疼痛如臨產的婦人。Kirioth has been taken, and the strongholds seized. In that day the heart of Moab’s warriors will be like the heart of a woman in labor.

⁴²摩押必被毀滅，不再成國，因他向耶和華誇大。Moab will be destroyed as a nation because he vaunted himself against the LORD.

⁴³耶和華說：摩押的居民哪，恐懼、陷坑、網羅都臨近你。Terror and pit and snare await you, O dweller of Moab,” declares the LORD.

⁴⁴躲避恐懼的必墜入陷坑；從陷坑上來的必被網羅纏住；因我必使追討之年臨到摩押。這是耶和華說的。“Whoever flees the panic will fall into the pit, and whoever climbs from the pit will be caught in the snare. For I will bring upon Moab the year of their punishment,” declares the LORD.

⁴⁵躲避的人無力站在希實本的影下；因為有火從希實本發出，有火焰出於西宏的城，燒盡摩押的角和鬨嚷人的頭頂。“Those who flee will stand helpless in Heshbon’s shadow, because fire has gone forth from Heshbon and a flame from within Sihon. It devours the foreheads of Moab and the skulls of the sons of tumult.

⁴⁶摩押啊，你有禍了！屬基抹的民滅亡了！因你的眾子都被擄去，你的眾女也被擄去。Woe to you, O Moab! The people of Chemosh have perished; for your sons have been taken into exile and your daughters have gone into captivity.

末後摩押必歸回

⁴⁷耶和華說：到末後，我還要使被擄的摩押人歸回。摩押受審判的話到此為止。Yet in the latter days I will restore Moab from captivity,” declares the LORD. Here ends the judgment on Moab.

論亞捫人

¹論亞捫人。耶和華如此說：以色列沒有兒子嗎？沒有後嗣嗎？瑪勒堪為何得迦得之地為業呢？屬他的民為何住其中的城邑呢？Concerning the Ammonites, this is what the LORD says: “Has Israel no sons? Is he without heir? Why then has Milcom taken possession of Gad? Why have his people settled in their cities?

²耶和華說：日子將到，我必使人聽見打仗的喊聲，是攻擊亞捫人拉巴的喊聲。拉巴要成為亂堆；屬她的鄉村（原文是女子）要被火焚燒。先前得以色列地為業的，此時以色列倒要得他們的地為業。這是耶和華說的。Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will sound the battle cry against Rabbah of the Ammonites. It will become a heap of ruins, and its villages will be burned. Then Israel will drive out their dispossessors, says the LORD.

³希實本哪，你要哀號，因為愛地變為荒場。拉巴的居民（原文是女子）哪，要呼喊，以麻布束腰；要哭號，在籬笆中跑來跑去；因瑪勒堪和屬他的祭司、首領要一同被擄去。Wail, O Heshbon, for Ai has been destroyed; cry out, O daughters of Rabbah! Put on sackcloth and mourn; run back and forth within your walls, for Milcom will go into exile together with his priests and officials.

⁴背道的民（原文是女子）哪，你們為何因有山谷，就是水流的山谷誇張呢？為何倚靠財寶說：誰能來到我們這裡呢？Why do you boast of your valleys—your valleys so fruitful, O faithless daughter? You trust in your riches and say, ‘Who can come against me?’

⁵主─萬軍之耶和華說：我要使恐嚇從四圍的人中臨到你們；你們必被趕出，各人一直前往，沒有人收聚逃民。Behold, I am about to bring terror upon you, declares the Lord GOD of Hosts, from all those around you. You will each be driven headlong, with no one to regather the fugitives.

⁶後來我還要使被擄的亞捫人歸回。這是耶和華說的。Yet afterward I will restore the Ammonites from captivity,” declares the LORD.

只能吃奶的嬰孩

¹¹論到麥基洗德，我們有好些話，並且難以解明，因為你們聽不進去。We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain, because you are dull of hearing.

¹²看你們學習的工夫，本該作師傅，誰知還得有人將　神聖言小學的開端另教導你們，並且成了那必須吃奶、不能吃乾糧的人。Although by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to reteach you the basic principles of God’s word. You need milk, not solid food!

¹³凡只能吃奶的都不熟練仁義的道理，因為他是嬰孩；For everyone who lives on milk is still an infant, inexperienced in the message of righteousness.

¹⁴惟獨長大成人的才能吃乾糧；他們的心竅習練得通達，就能分辨好歹了。But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained their senses to distinguish good from evil.

竭力進到完全的地步

¹所以，我們應當離開基督道理的開端，竭力進到完全的地步，不必再立根基，就如那懊悔死行、信靠　神、Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith in God,

²各樣洗禮、按手之禮、死人復活，以及永遠審判各等教訓。instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

³神若許我們，我們必如此行。And this we will do, if God permits.

離棄道理的警告

⁴論到那些已經蒙了光照、嘗過天恩的滋味、又於聖靈有分，It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,

⁵並嘗過　神善道的滋味、覺悟來世權能的人，who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age—

⁶若是離棄道理，就不能叫他們重新懊悔了。因為他們把　神的兒子重釘十字架，明明地羞辱他。and then have fallen away—to be restored to repentance, because they themselves are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to open shame.

⁷就如一塊田地，吃過屢次下的雨水，生長菜蔬，合乎耕種的人用，就從　神得福；For land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is tended receives the blessing of God.

⁸若長荊棘和蒺藜，必被廢棄，近於咒詛，結局就是焚燒。But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless, and its curse is imminent. In the end it will be burned.

深信你們近乎得救

⁹親愛的弟兄們，我們雖是這樣說，卻深信你們的行為強過這些，而且近乎得救。Even though we speak like this, beloved, we are convinced of better things in your case—things that accompany salvation.

¹⁰因為　神並非不公義，竟忘記你們所做的工和你們為他名所顯的愛心，就是先前伺候聖徒，如今還是伺候。For God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown for His name as you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so.

¹¹我們願你們各人都顯出這樣的殷勤，使你們有滿足的指望，一直到底。We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.

¹²並且不懈怠，總要效法那些憑信心和忍耐承受應許的人。Then you will not be sluggish, but will imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

神向亞伯拉罕起誓

¹³當初　神應許亞伯拉罕的時候，因為沒有比自己更大可以指著起誓的，就指著自己起誓，說：When God made His promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself,

¹⁴「論福，我必賜大福給你；論子孫，我必叫你的子孫多起來。」saying, “I will surely bless you and multiply your descendants.”

¹⁷照樣，　神願意為那承受應許的人格外顯明他的旨意是不更改的，就起誓為證。So when God wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of the promise, He guaranteed it with an oath.
