驕傲的以法蓮

⁸主使一言入於雅各家，落於以色列家。The Lord has sent a message against Jacob, and it has fallen upon Israel.

⁹這眾百姓，就是以法蓮和撒馬利亞的居民，都要知道；他們憑驕傲自大的心說：All the people will know it—Ephraim and the dwellers of Samaria. With pride and arrogance of heart they will say:

¹⁰磚牆塌了，我們卻要鑿石頭建築；桑樹砍了，我們卻要換香柏樹。“The bricks have fallen, but we will rebuild with finished stone; the sycamores have been felled, but we will replace them with cedars.”

¹¹因此，耶和華要高舉利汛的敵人來攻擊以色列，並要激動以色列的仇敵。The LORD has raised up the foes of Rezin against him and joined his enemies together.

¹²東有亞蘭人，西有非利士人；他們張口要吞吃以色列。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣還未轉消；他的手仍伸不縮。Aram from the east and Philistia from the west have devoured Israel with open mouths. Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.

剪除頭與尾

¹³這百姓還沒有歸向擊打他們的主，也沒有尋求萬軍之耶和華。But the people did not return to Him who struck them; they did not seek the LORD of Hosts.

¹⁴因此，耶和華一日之間必從以色列中剪除頭與尾，棕枝與蘆葦─So the LORD will cut off Israel’s head and tail, both palm branch and reed in a single day.

¹⁵長老和尊貴人就是頭，以謊言教人的先知就是尾。The head is the elder and honorable man, and the tail is the prophet who teaches lies.

¹⁶因為，引導這百姓的使他們走錯了路；被引導的都必敗亡。For those who guide this people mislead them, and those they mislead are swallowed up.

¹⁷所以，主必不喜悅他們的少年人，也不憐恤他們的孤兒寡婦；因為，各人是褻瀆的，是行惡的，並且各人的口都說愚妄的話。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣還未轉消；他的手仍伸不縮。Therefore the Lord takes no pleasure in their young men; He has no compassion on their fatherless and widows. For every one of them is godless and wicked, and every mouth speaks folly. Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.

邪惡像火焚燒

¹⁸邪惡像火焚燒，燒滅荊棘和蒺藜，在稠密的樹林中著起來，就成為煙柱，旋轉上騰。For wickedness burns like a fire that consumes the thorns and briers and kindles the forest thickets, which roll upward in billows of smoke.

¹⁹因萬軍之耶和華的烈怒，地都燒遍；百姓成為火柴；無人憐愛弟兄。By the wrath of the LORD of Hosts the land is scorched, and the people are fuel for the fire. No man even spares his brother.

²⁰有人右邊搶奪，仍受飢餓，左邊吞吃，仍不飽足；各人吃自己膀臂上的肉。They carve out what is on the right, but they are still hungry; they eat what is on the left, but they are still not satisfied. Each one devours the flesh of his own offspring.

²¹瑪拿西吞吃（或譯：攻擊；下同）以法蓮；以法蓮吞吃瑪拿西，又一同攻擊猶大。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣還未轉消；他的手仍伸不縮。Manasseh devours Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh; together they turn against Judah. Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.

禍哉，設立不義律例的

¹禍哉！那些設立不義之律例的和記錄奸詐之判語的，Woe to those who enact unjust statutes and issue oppressive decrees,

²為要屈枉窮乏人，奪去我民中困苦人的理，以寡婦當作擄物，以孤兒當作掠物。to deprive the poor of fair treatment and withhold justice from the oppressed of My people, to make widows their prey and orphans their plunder.

³到降罰的日子，有災禍從遠方臨到，那時，你們怎樣行呢？你們向誰逃奔求救呢？你們的榮耀（或譯：財寶）存留何處呢？What will you do on the day of reckoning when devastation comes from afar? To whom will you flee for help? Where will you leave your wealth?

⁴他們只得屈身在被擄的人以下，仆倒在被殺的人以下。雖然如此，耶和華的怒氣還未轉消；他的手仍伸不縮。Nothing will remain but to crouch among the captives or fall among the slain. Despite all this, His anger is not turned away; His hand is still upraised.

亞述是神怒氣的棍

⁵亞述是我怒氣的棍，手中拿我惱恨的杖。Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger; the staff in their hands is My wrath.

⁶我要打發他攻擊褻瀆的國民，吩咐他攻擊我所惱怒的百姓，搶財為擄物，奪貨為掠物，將他們踐踏，像街上的泥土一樣。I will send him against a godless nation; I will dispatch him against a people destined for My rage, to take spoils and seize plunder, and to trample them down like clay in the streets.

⁷然而，他不是這樣的意思；他心也不這樣打算。他心裡倒想毀滅，剪除不少的國。But this is not his intention; this is not his plan. For it is in his heart to destroy and cut off many nations.

⁸他說：我的臣僕豈不都是王嗎？“Are not all my commanders kings?” he says.

⁹迦勒挪豈不像迦基米施嗎？哈馬豈不像亞珥拔嗎？撒馬利亞豈不像大馬士革嗎？“Is not Calno like Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria like Damascus?

¹⁰我手已經搆到有偶像的國；這些國雕刻的偶像過於耶路撒冷和撒馬利亞的偶像。As my hand seized the idolatrous kingdoms whose images surpassed those of Jerusalem and Samaria,

¹¹我怎樣待撒馬利亞和其中的偶像，豈不照樣待耶路撒冷和其中的偶像嗎？and as I have done to Samaria and its idols, will I not also do to Jerusalem and her idols?”

亞述王自誇必受罰

¹²主在錫安山和耶路撒冷成就他一切工作的時候，主說：「我必罰亞述王自大的心和他高傲眼目的榮耀。」So when the Lord has completed all His work against Mount Zion and Jerusalem, He will say, “I will punish the king of Assyria for the fruit of his arrogant heart and the proud look in his eyes.

¹³因為他說：我所成就的事是靠我手的能力和我的智慧，我本有聰明。我挪移列國的地界，搶奪他們所積蓄的財寶；並且我像勇士，使坐寶座的降為卑。For he says: ‘By the strength of my hand I have done this, and by my wisdom, for I am clever. I have removed the boundaries of nations and plundered their treasures; like a mighty one I subdued their rulers.

¹⁴我的手搆到列國的財寶，好像人搆到鳥窩；我也得了全地，好像人拾起所棄的雀蛋。沒有動翅膀的；沒有張嘴的，也沒有鳴叫的。My hand reached as into a nest to seize the wealth of the nations. Like one gathering abandoned eggs, I gathered all the earth. No wing fluttered, no beak opened or chirped.’”

¹⁵斧豈可向用斧砍木的自誇呢？鋸豈可向用鋸的自大呢？好比棍掄起那舉棍的，好比杖舉起那非木的人。Does an axe raise itself above the one who swings it? Does a saw boast over him who saws with it? It would be like a rod waving the one who lifts it, or a staff lifting him who is not wood!

¹⁶因此，主─萬軍之耶和華必使亞述王的肥壯人變為瘦弱，在他的榮華之下必有火著起，如同焚燒一樣。Therefore the Lord GOD of Hosts will send a wasting disease among Assyria’s stout warriors, and under his pomp will be kindled a fire like a burning flame.

¹⁷以色列的光必如火；他的聖者必如火焰。在一日之間，將亞述王的荊棘和蒺藜焚燒淨盡；And the Light of Israel will become a fire, and its Holy One a flame. In a single day it will burn and devour Assyria’s thorns and thistles.

¹⁸又將他樹林和肥田的榮耀全然燒盡，好像拿軍旗的昏過去一樣。The splendor of its forests and orchards, both soul and body, it will completely destroy, as a sickness consumes a man.

¹⁹他林中剩下的樹必稀少，就是孩子也能寫其數。The remaining trees of its forests will be so few that a child could count them.

餘民必歸回

²⁰到那日，以色列所剩下的和雅各家所逃脫的，不再倚靠那擊打他們的，卻要誠實倚靠耶和華─以色列的聖者。On that day the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer depend on him who struck them, but they will truly rely on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.

²¹所剩下的，就是雅各家所剩下的，必歸回全能的　神。A remnant will return—a remnant of Jacob—to the Mighty God.

²²以色列啊，你的百姓雖多如海沙，惟有剩下的歸回。原來滅絕的事已定，必有公義施行，如水漲溢。Though your people, O Israel, be like the sand of the sea, only a remnant will return. Destruction has been decreed, overflowing with righteousness.

²³因為主─萬軍之耶和華在全地之中必成就所定規的結局。For the Lord GOD of Hosts will carry out the destruction decreed upon the whole land.

不要怕亞述

²⁴所以，主─萬軍之耶和華如此說：「住錫安我的百姓啊，亞述王雖然用棍擊打你，又照埃及的樣子舉杖攻擊你，你卻不要怕他。Therefore this is what the Lord GOD of Hosts says: “O My people who dwell in Zion, do not fear Assyria, who strikes you with a rod and lifts his staff against you as the Egyptians did.

²⁵因為還有一點點時候，向你們發的忿恨就要完畢，我的怒氣要向他發作，使他滅亡。For in just a little while My fury against you will subside, and My anger will turn to their destruction.”

²⁶萬軍之耶和華要興起鞭來攻擊他，好像在俄立磐石那裡殺戮米甸人一樣。耶和華的杖要向海伸出，把杖舉起，像在埃及一樣。And the LORD of Hosts will brandish a whip against them, as when He struck Midian at the rock of Oreb. He will raise His staff over the sea, as He did in Egypt.

²⁷到那日，亞述王的重擔必離開你的肩頭；他的軛必離開你的頸項；那軛也必因肥壯的緣故撐斷（或譯：因膏油的緣故毀壞）。」On that day the burden will be lifted from your shoulders, and the yoke from your neck. The yoke will be broken because your neck will be too large.

亞述大軍逼近

²⁸亞述王來到亞葉，經過米磯崙，在密抹安放輜重。Assyria has entered Aiath and passed through Migron, storing their supplies at Michmash.

²⁹他們過了隘口，在迦巴住宿。拉瑪人戰兢；掃羅的基比亞人逃跑。They have crossed at the ford: “We will spend the night at Geba.” Ramah trembles; Gibeah of Saul flees.

³⁰迦琳的居民（原文是女子）哪，要高聲呼喊！萊煞人哪，須聽！哀哉！困苦的亞拿突啊。Cry aloud, O Daughter of Gallim! Listen, O Laishah! O wretched Anathoth!

³¹瑪得米那人躲避；基柄的居民逃遁。Madmenah flees; the people of Gebim take refuge.

³²當那日，亞述王要在挪伯歇兵，向錫安女子的山─就是耶路撒冷的山─掄手攻他。Yet today they will halt at Nob, shaking a fist at the mount of Daughter Zion, at the hill of Jerusalem.

³³看哪，主─萬軍之耶和華以驚嚇削去樹枝；長高的必被砍下，高大的必被伐倒。Behold, the Lord GOD of Hosts will lop off the branches with terrifying power. The tall trees will be cut down, the lofty ones will be felled.

³⁴稠密的樹林，他要用鐵器砍下；黎巴嫩的樹木必被大能者伐倒。He will clear the forest thickets with an axe, and Lebanon will fall before the Mighty One.

耶西的根生出枝子

¹從耶西的本（原文是丕）必發一條；從他根生的枝子必結果實。Then a shoot will spring up from the stump of Jesse, and a Branch from his roots will bear fruit.

²耶和華的靈必住在他身上，就是使他有智慧和聰明的靈，謀略和能力的靈，知識和敬畏耶和華的靈。The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and strength, the Spirit of knowledge and fear of the LORD.

³他必以敬畏耶和華為樂；行審判不憑眼見，斷是非也不憑耳聞；And He will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what His eyes see, and He will not decide by what His ears hear,

⁴卻要以公義審判貧窮人，以正直判斷世上的謙卑人，以口中的杖擊打世界，以嘴裡的氣殺戮惡人。but with righteousness He will judge the poor, and with equity He will decide for the lowly of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth and slay the wicked with the breath of His lips.

⁵公義必當他的腰帶；信實必當他脅下的帶子。Righteousness will be the belt around His hips, and faithfulness the sash around His waist.

豺狼與綿羊羔同居

⁶豺狼必與綿羊羔同居，豹子與山羊羔同臥；少壯獅子與牛犢並肥畜同群；小孩子要牽引牠們。The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the goat; the calf and young lion and fatling will be together, and a little child will lead them.

⁷牛必與熊同食；牛犢必與小熊同臥；獅子必吃草，與牛一樣。The cow will graze with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox.

⁸吃奶的孩子必玩耍在虺蛇的洞口；斷奶的嬰兒必按手在毒蛇的穴上。The infant will play by the cobra’s den, and the toddler will reach into the viper’s nest.

⁹在我聖山的遍處，這一切都不傷人，不害物；因為認識耶和華的知識要充滿遍地，好像水充滿洋海一般。They will neither harm nor destroy on all My holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the sea is full of water.

招回分散的百姓

¹⁰到那日，耶西的根立作萬民的大旗；外邦人必尋求他，他安息之所大有榮耀。On that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples. The nations will seek Him, and His place of rest will be glorious.

¹¹當那日，主必二次伸手救回自己百姓中所餘剩的，就是在亞述、埃及、巴忒羅、古實、以攔、示拿、哈馬，並眾海島所剩下的。On that day the Lord will extend His hand a second time to recover the remnant of His people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

¹²他必向列國豎立大旗，招回以色列被趕散的人，又從地的四方聚集分散的猶大人。He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel; He will collect the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

¹³以法蓮的嫉妒就必消散；擾害猶大的必被剪除。以法蓮必不嫉妒猶大，猶大也不擾害以法蓮。Then the jealousy of Ephraim will depart, and the adversaries of Judah will be cut off. Ephraim will no longer envy Judah, nor will Judah harass Ephraim.

¹⁴他們要向西飛，撲在非利士人的肩頭上（肩頭上：或譯西界），一同擄掠東方人，伸手按住以東和摩押；亞捫人也必順服他們。They will swoop down on the slopes of the Philistines to the west; together they will plunder the sons of the east. They will lay their hands on Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be subject to them.

¹⁵耶和華必使埃及海汊枯乾，掄手用暴熱的風使大河分為七條，令人過去不致濕腳。The LORD will devote to destruction the gulf of the Sea of Egypt; with a scorching wind He will sweep His hand over the Euphrates. He will split it into seven streams for men to cross with dry sandals.

¹⁶為主餘剩的百姓，就是從亞述剩下回來的，必有一條大道，如當日以色列從埃及地上來一樣。There will be a highway for the remnant of His people who remain from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.

稱謝耶和華的詩歌

¹到那日，你必說：耶和華啊，我要稱謝你！因為你雖然向我發怒，你的怒氣卻已轉消；你又安慰了我。In that day you will say: “O LORD, I will praise You. Although You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away, and You have comforted me.

²看哪！　神是我的拯救；我要倚靠他，並不懼怕。因為主耶和華是我的力量，是我的詩歌，他也成了我的拯救。Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. For the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and He also has become my salvation.”

³所以，你們必從救恩的泉源歡然取水。With joy you will draw water from the springs of salvation,

⁴在那日，你們要說：當稱謝耶和華，求告他的名；將他所行的傳揚在萬民中，提說他的名已被尊崇。and on that day you will say: “Give praise to the LORD; proclaim His name! Make His works known among the peoples; declare that His name is exalted.

⁵你們要向耶和華唱歌，因他所行的甚是美好；但願這事普傳天下。Sing to the LORD, for He has done glorious things. Let this be known in all the earth.

⁶錫安的居民哪，當揚聲歡呼，因為在你們中間的以色列聖者乃為至大。Cry out and sing, O citizen of Zion, for great among you is the Holy One of Israel.”

與蒙召的恩相稱

¹我為主被囚的勸你們：既然蒙召，行事為人就當與蒙召的恩相稱。As a prisoner in the Lord, then, I urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling you have received:

²凡事謙虛、溫柔、忍耐，用愛心互相寬容，with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,

³用和平彼此聯絡，竭力保守聖靈所賜合而為一的心。and with diligence to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

一個身體，一個聖靈

⁴身體只有一個，聖靈只有一個，正如你們蒙召同有一個指望。There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;

⁵一主，一信，一洗，one Lord, one faith, one baptism;

⁶一　神，就是眾人的父，超乎眾人之上，貫乎眾人之中，也住在眾人之內。one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

基督所賜的恩賜

⁷我們各人蒙恩，都是照基督所量給各人的恩賜。Now to each one of us grace has been given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

⁸所以經上說：他升上高天的時候，擄掠了仇敵，將各樣的恩賜賞給人。This is why it says: “When He ascended on high, He led captives away, and gave gifts to men.”

⁹（既說升上，豈不是先降在地下嗎？What does “He ascended” mean, except that He also descended to the lower parts of the earth?

¹⁰那降下的，就是遠升諸天之上要充滿萬有的。）He who descended is the very One who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things.

建立基督的身體

¹¹他所賜的，有使徒，有先知，有傳福音的，有牧師和教師，And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,

¹²為要成全聖徒，各盡其職，建立基督的身體，to equip the saints for works of ministry and to build up the body of Christ,

¹³直等到我們眾人在真道上同歸於一，認識　神的兒子，得以長大成人，滿有基督長成的身量，until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ.

不再作小孩子

¹⁴使我們不再作小孩子，中了人的詭計和欺騙的法術，被一切異教之風搖動，飄來飄去，就隨從各樣的異端；Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching and by the clever cunning of men in their deceitful scheming.

¹⁵惟用愛心說誠實話，凡事長進，連於元首基督，Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ Himself, who is the head.

¹⁶全身都靠他聯絡得合式，百節各按各職，照著各體的功用彼此相助，便叫身體漸漸增長，在愛中建立自己。From Him the whole body, fitted and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love through the work of each individual part.
