智慧婦人建立家室

¹智慧婦人建立家室；愚妄婦人親手拆毀。Every wise woman builds her house, but a foolish one tears it down with her own hands.

²行動正直的，敬畏耶和華；行事乖僻的，卻藐視他。He who walks in uprightness fears the LORD, but the one who is devious in his ways despises Him.

³愚妄人口中驕傲，如杖責打己身；智慧人的嘴必保守自己。The proud speech of a fool brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.

⁴家裡無牛，槽頭乾淨；土產加多乃憑牛力。Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, but an abundant harvest comes through the strength of the ox.

誠實見證人不說謊話

⁵誠實見證人不說謊話；假見證人吐出謊言。An honest witness does not deceive, but a dishonest witness pours forth lies.

⁶褻慢人尋智慧，卻尋不著；聰明人易得知識。A mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.

⁷到愚昧人面前，不見他嘴中有知識。Stay away from a foolish man; you will gain no knowledge from his speech.

⁸通達人的智慧在乎明白己道；愚昧人的愚妄乃是詭詐（或譯：自欺）。The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way, but the folly of fools deceives them.

⁹愚妄人犯罪，以為戲耍（或譯：贖愆祭愚弄愚妄人）；正直人互相喜悅。Fools mock the making of amends, but goodwill is found among the upright.

心中的苦楚，自己知道

¹⁰心中的苦楚，自己知道；心裡的喜樂，外人無干。The heart knows its own bitterness, and no stranger shares in its joy.

¹¹奸惡人的房屋必傾倒；正直人的帳棚必興盛。The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.

人以為正的路

¹²有一條路，人以為正，至終成為死亡之路。There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

¹³人在喜笑中，心也憂愁；快樂至極就生愁苦。Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in sorrow.

¹⁴心中背道的，必滿得自己的結果；善人必從自己的行為得以知足。The backslider in heart receives the fill of his own ways, but a good man is rewarded for his ways.

通達人步步謹慎

¹⁵愚蒙人是話都信；通達人步步謹慎。The simple man believes every word, but the prudent man watches his steps.

¹⁶智慧人懼怕，就遠離惡事；愚妄人卻狂傲自恃。A wise man fears and turns from evil, but a fool is careless and reckless.

¹⁷輕易發怒的，行事愚妄；設立詭計的，被人恨惡。A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, and a devious man is hated.

¹⁸愚蒙人得愚昧為產業；通達人得知識為冠冕。The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

¹⁹壞人俯伏在善人面前；惡人俯伏在義人門口。The evil bow before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

貧窮與富足

²⁰貧窮人連鄰舍也恨他；富足人朋友最多。The poor man is hated even by his neighbor, but many are those who love the rich.

²¹藐視鄰舍的，這人有罪；憐憫貧窮的，這人有福。He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who shows kindness to the poor.

²²謀惡的，豈非走入迷途嗎？謀善的，必得慈愛和誠實。Do not those who contrive evil go astray? But those who plan goodness find loving devotion and faithfulness.

²³諸般勤勞都有益處；嘴上多言乃致窮乏。There is profit in all labor, but mere talk leads only to poverty.

²⁴智慧人的財為自己的冠冕；愚妄人的愚昧終是愚昧。The crown of the wise is their wealth, but the effort of fools is folly.

²⁵作真見證的，救人性命；吐出謊言的，施行詭詐。A truthful witness saves lives, but one who utters lies is deceitful.

敬畏耶和華大有倚靠

²⁶敬畏耶和華的，大有倚靠；他的兒女也有避難所。He who fears the LORD is secure in confidence, and his children shall have a place of refuge.

²⁷敬畏耶和華就是生命的泉源，可以使人離開死亡的網羅。The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, turning a man from the snares of death.

²⁸帝王榮耀在乎民多；君王衰敗在乎民少。A large population is a king’s splendor, but a lack of subjects is a prince’s ruin.

不輕易發怒的大有聰明

²⁹不輕易發怒的，大有聰明；性情暴躁的，大顯愚妄。A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man promotes folly.

³⁰心中安靜是肉體的生命；嫉妒是骨中的朽爛。A tranquil heart is life to the body, but envy rots the bones.

憐憫窮乏就是尊敬主

³¹欺壓貧寒的，是辱沒造他的主；憐憫窮乏的，乃是尊敬主。Whoever oppresses the poor taunts their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors Him.

³²惡人在所行的惡上必被推倒；義人臨死，有所投靠。The wicked man is thrown down by his own sin, but the righteous man has a refuge even in death.

³³智慧存在聰明人心中；愚昧人心裡所存的，顯而易見。Wisdom rests in the heart of the discerning; even among fools she is known.

³⁴公義使邦國高舉；罪惡是人民的羞辱。Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.

³⁵智慧的臣子蒙王恩惠；貽羞的僕人遭其震怒。A king delights in a wise servant, but his anger falls on the shameful.

回答柔和，使怒消退

¹回答柔和，使怒消退；言語暴戾，觸動怒氣。A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

²智慧人的舌善發知識；愚昧人的口吐出愚昧。The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool spouts folly.

³耶和華的眼目無處不在；惡人善人，他都鑒察。The eyes of the LORD are in every place, observing the evil and the good.

⁴溫良的舌是生命樹；乖謬的嘴使人心碎。A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

⁵愚妄人藐視父親的管教；領受責備的，得著見識。A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction is prudent.

⁶義人家中多有財寶；惡人得利反受擾害。The house of the righteous has great treasure, but the income of the wicked is trouble.

⁷智慧人的嘴播揚知識；愚昧人的心並不如此。The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but not so the hearts of fools.

正直人祈禱為神所喜悅

⁸惡人獻祭，為耶和華所憎惡；正直人祈禱，為他所喜悅。The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.

⁹惡人的道路，為耶和華所憎惡；追求公義的，為他所喜愛。The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness.

¹⁰捨棄正路的，必受嚴刑；恨惡責備的，必致死亡。Discipline is harsh for him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.

¹¹陰間和滅亡尚在耶和華眼前，何況世人的心呢？Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the LORD—how much more the hearts of men!

¹²褻慢人不愛受責備；他也不就近智慧人。A mocker does not love to be reproved, nor will he consult the wise.

心中喜樂，面帶笑容

¹³心中喜樂，面帶笑容；心裡憂愁，靈被損傷。A joyful heart makes a cheerful countenance, but sorrow of the heart crushes the spirit.

¹⁴聰明人心求知識；愚昧人口吃愚昧。A discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

¹⁵困苦人的日子都是愁苦；心中歡暢的，常享豐筵。All the days of the oppressed are bad, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast.

少有財寶，敬畏耶和華

¹⁶少有財寶，敬畏耶和華，強如多有財寶，煩亂不安。Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure with turmoil.

¹⁷吃素菜，彼此相愛，強如吃肥牛，彼此相恨。Better a dish of vegetables where there is love than a fattened ox with hatred.

¹⁸暴怒的人挑啟爭端；忍怒的人止息紛爭。A hot-tempered man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger calms dispute.

¹⁹懶惰人的道像荊棘的籬笆；正直人的路是平坦的大道。The way of the slacker is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.

²⁰智慧子使父親喜樂；愚昧人藐視母親。A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.

²¹無知的人以愚妄為樂；聰明的人按正直而行。Folly is joy to one who lacks judgment, but a man of understanding walks a straight path.

謀士眾多，所謀乃成

²²不先商議，所謀無效；謀士眾多，所謀乃成。Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

²³口善應對，自覺喜樂；話合其時，何等美好。A man takes joy in a fitting reply—and how good is a timely word!

²⁴智慧人從生命的道上升，使他遠離在下的陰間。The path of life leads upward for the wise, that he may avoid going down to Sheol.

²⁵耶和華必拆毀驕傲人的家，卻要立定寡婦的地界。The LORD tears down the house of the proud, but He protects the boundaries of the widow.

²⁶惡謀為耶和華所憎惡；良言乃為純淨。The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the words of the pure are pleasant to Him.

²⁷貪戀財利的，擾害己家；恨惡賄賂的，必得存活。He who is greedy for unjust gain brings trouble on his household, but he who hates bribes will live.

²⁸義人的心，思量如何回答；惡人的口吐出惡言。The heart of the righteous ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked blurts out evil.

²⁹耶和華遠離惡人，卻聽義人的禱告。The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous.

³⁰眼有光，使心喜樂；好信息，使骨滋潤。The light of the eyes cheers the heart, and good news nourishes the bones.

³¹聽從生命責備的，必常在智慧人中。He who listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.

³²棄絕管教的，輕看自己的生命；聽從責備的，卻得智慧。He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.

³³敬畏耶和華是智慧的訓誨；尊榮以前，必有謙卑。The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

大膽講說，不像摩西蒙著臉

¹²我們既有這樣的盼望，就大膽講說，Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.

¹³不像摩西將帕子蒙在臉上，叫以色列人不能定睛看到那將廢者的結局。We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at the end of what was fading away.

心上的帕子

¹⁴但他們的心地剛硬，直到今日誦讀舊約的時候，這帕子還沒有揭去。這帕子在基督裡已經廢去了。But their minds were closed. For to this day the same veil remains at the reading of the old covenant. It has not been lifted, because only in Christ can it be removed.

¹⁵然而直到今日，每逢誦讀摩西書的時候，帕子還在他們心上。And even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.

歸向主，帕子就除去

¹⁶但他們的心幾時歸向主，帕子就幾時除去了。But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

¹⁷主就是那靈；主的靈在哪裡，那裡就得以自由。Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

榮上加榮

¹⁸我們眾人既然敞著臉得以看見主的榮光，好像從鏡子裡返照，就變成主的形狀，榮上加榮，如同從主的靈變成的。And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image with intensifying glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

不喪膽，不行詭詐

¹我們既然蒙憐憫，受了這職分，就不喪膽，Therefore, since God in His mercy has given us this ministry, we do not lose heart.

²乃將那些暗昧可恥的事棄絕了；不行詭詐，不謬講　神的道理，只將真理表明出來，好在　神面前把自己薦與各人的良心。Instead, we have renounced secret and shameful ways. We do not practice deceit, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by open proclamation of the truth, we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

福音為何被蒙蔽

³如果我們的福音蒙蔽，就是蒙蔽在滅亡的人身上。And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

⁴此等不信之人被這世界的神弄瞎了心眼，不叫基督榮耀福音的光照著他們。基督本是　神的像。The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

傳基督耶穌為主

⁵我們原不是傳自己，乃是傳基督耶穌為主，並且自己因耶穌作你們的僕人。For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

⁶那吩咐光從黑暗裡照出來的　神，已經照在我們心裡，叫我們得知　神榮耀的光顯在耶穌基督的面上。For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
