西緬的後代

²⁴西緬的兒子是尼母利、雅憫、雅立、謝拉、掃羅。The descendants of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul.

²⁵掃羅的兒子是沙龍；沙龍的兒子是米比衫；米比衫的兒子是米施瑪；The sons of Shaul: Shallum, Mibsam, and Mishma.

²⁶米施瑪的兒子是哈母利；哈母利的兒子是撒刻；撒刻的兒子是示每。The sons of Mishma: Hammuel, Zaccur, and Shimei.

²⁷示每有十六個兒子，六個女兒，他弟兄的兒女不多，他們各家不如猶大族的人丁增多。Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many children, so their whole clan did not become as numerous as the sons of Judah.

西緬人的城邑

²⁸西緬人住在別是巴、摩拉大、哈薩‧書亞、They lived in Beersheba, Moladah, Hazar-shual,

²⁹辟拉、以森、陀臘、Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad,

³⁰彼土利、何珥瑪、洗革拉、Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,

³¹伯‧瑪嘉博、哈薩‧蘇撒、伯‧比利、沙拉音，這些城邑直到大衛作王的時候都是屬西緬人的。Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susim, Beth-biri, and Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.

³²他們的五個城邑是以坦、亞因、臨門、陀健、亞珊；And their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan—five towns—

³³還有屬城的鄉村，直到巴力。這是他們的住處，他們都有家譜。and all their surrounding villages as far as Baal. These were their settlements, and they kept a genealogical record:

西緬的族長

³⁴還有米所巴、雅米勒、亞瑪謝的兒子約沙、Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah son of Amaziah,

³⁵約珥、約示比的兒子耶戶；約示比是西萊雅的兒子；西萊雅是亞薛的兒子。Joel, Jehu son of Joshibiah (son of Seraiah, son of Asiel),

³⁶還有以利約乃、雅哥巴、約朔海、亞帥雅、亞底業、耶西篾、比拿雅、Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah,

³⁷示非的兒子細撒。示非是亞龍的兒子；亞龍是耶大雅的兒子；耶大雅是申利的兒子；申利是示瑪雅的兒子。and Ziza son of Shiphi (son of Allon, son of Jedaiah, son of Shimri, son of Shemaiah).

³⁸以上所記的人名都是作族長的，他們宗族的人數增多。These men listed by name were the leaders of their clans. Their families increased greatly,

尋得肥美的草場

³⁹他們往平原東邊基多口去，尋找牧放羊群的草場，and they journeyed to the entrance of Gedor, to the east side of the valley, in search of pasture for their flocks.

⁴⁰尋得肥美的草場地，又寬闊又平靜。從前住那裡的是含族的人。There they found rich, good pasture, and the land was spacious, peaceful, and quiet; for some Hamites had lived there formerly.

⁴¹以上錄名的人，在猶大王希西家年間，來攻擊含族人的帳棚和那裡所有的米烏尼人，將他們滅盡，就住在他們的地方，直到今日，因為那裡有草場可以牧放羊群。These who were noted by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. They attacked the Hamites in their dwellings as well as the Meunites who were there, devoting them to destruction even to this day. Then they settled in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks.

上西珥山擊殺亞瑪力人

⁴²這西緬人中，有五百人上西珥山，率領他們的是以示的兒子毘拉提、尼利雅、利法雅，和烏薛，And five hundred of these Simeonites led by Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi, went to Mount Seir

⁴³殺了逃脫剩下的亞瑪力人，就住在那裡直到今日。and struck down the remnant of the Amalekites who had escaped. And they have lived there to this day.

流便失去長子的名分

¹以色列的長子原是流便；因他污穢了父親的床，他長子的名分就歸了約瑟。只是按家譜他不算長子。These were the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel. Though he was the firstborn, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, because Reuben defiled his father’s bed. So he is not reckoned according to birthright.

²猶大勝過一切弟兄，君王也是從他而出；長子的名分卻歸約瑟。And though Judah prevailed over his brothers and a ruler came from him, the birthright belonged to Joseph.

流便的後代

³以色列長子流便的兒子是哈諾、法路、希斯倫、迦米。The sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

⁸比拉是亞撒的兒子；亞撒是示瑪的兒子；示瑪是約珥的兒子；約珥所住的地方是從亞羅珥直到尼波和巴力‧免，and Bela son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel. They settled in Aroer and as far as Nebo and Baal-meon.

⁹又向東延到幼發拉底河這邊的曠野，因為他們在基列地牲畜增多。They also settled in the east as far as the edge of the desert that extends to the Euphrates River, because their livestock had increased in the land of Gilead.

¹⁰掃羅年間，他們與夏甲人爭戰，夏甲人倒在他們手下，他們就在基列東邊的全地，住在夏甲人的帳棚裡。During the days of Saul they waged war against the Hagrites, who were defeated at their hands, and they occupied the dwellings of the Hagrites throughout the region east of Gilead.

迦得的後代

¹¹迦得的子孫在流便對面，住在巴珊地，延到撒迦。The descendants of Gad lived next to the Reubenites in the land of Bashan, as far as Salecah:

¹²他們中間有作族長的約珥，有作副族長的沙番，還有雅乃和住在巴珊的沙法。Joel was the chief, Shapham the second, then Jaanai and Shaphat, who lived in Bashan.

¹³他們族弟兄是米迦勒、米書蘭、示巴、約賴、雅干、細亞、希伯，共七人。Their kinsmen by families were Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia, and Eber—seven in all.

¹⁴這都是亞比孩的兒子。亞比孩是戶利的兒子；戶利是耶羅亞的兒子；耶羅亞是基列的兒子；基列是米迦勒的兒子；米迦勒是耶示篩的兒子；耶示篩是耶哈多的兒子；耶哈多是布斯的兒子。These were the sons of Abihail son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz.

¹⁵還有古尼的孫子、押比疊的兒子亞希。這都是作族長的。Ahi son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was head of their family.

¹⁶他們住在基列與巴珊和巴珊的鄉村，並沙崙的郊野，直到四圍的交界。They lived in Gilead, in Bashan and its towns, and throughout the pasturelands of Sharon.

¹⁷這些人在猶大王約坦並在以色列王耶羅波安年間，都載入家譜。All of them were recorded in the genealogies during the reigns of Jotham king of Judah and Jeroboam king of Israel.

呼求神，戰勝夏甲人

¹⁸流便人、迦得人，和瑪拿西半支派的人，能拿盾牌和刀劍、拉弓射箭、出征善戰的勇士共有四萬四千七百六十名。The Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh had 44,760 warriors—valiant men who carried the shield and sword, drew the bow, and were trained for battle.

¹⁹他們與夏甲人、伊突人、拿非施人、挪答人爭戰。They waged war against the Hagrites, as well as Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab.

²⁰他們得了　神的幫助，夏甲人和跟隨夏甲的人都交在他們手中；因為他們在陣上呼求　神，倚賴　神，　神就應允他們。And because they cried out to God in battle, they were helped against their enemies, and the Hagrites and all their allies were delivered into their hands. Because they put their trust in God, He answered their prayers.

²¹他們擄掠了夏甲人的牲畜，有駱駝五萬，羊二十五萬，驢二千；又有人十萬。They seized the livestock of the Hagrites—50,000 camels, 250,000 sheep, and 2,000 donkeys. They also took 100,000 captives,

²²敵人被殺仆倒的甚多，因為這爭戰是出乎　神。他們就住在敵人的地上，直到被擄的時候。and many others fell slain, because the battle belonged to God. And they occupied the land until the exile.

瑪拿西半支派

²³瑪拿西半支派的人住在那地。從巴珊延到巴力‧黑們、示尼珥與黑門山。Now the people of the half-tribe of Manasseh were numerous. They settled in the land from Bashan to Baal-hermon (that is, Senir, also known as Mount Hermon).

²⁴他們的族長是以弗、以示、以列、亞斯列、耶利米、何達威雅、雅疊，都是大能的勇士，是有名的人，也是作族長的。These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were mighty men of valor, famous men, and heads of their families.

隨從外邦神，被亞述擄去

²⁵他們得罪了他們列祖的　神，隨從那地之民的神行邪淫；這民就是　神在他們面前所除滅的。But they were unfaithful to the God of their fathers, and they prostituted themselves with the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

²⁶故此，以色列的　神激動亞述王普勒和亞述王提革拉．毘列色的心，他們就把流便人、迦得人、瑪拿西半支派的人擄到哈臘、哈博、哈拉與歌散河邊，直到今日還在那裡。So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria (that is, Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria) to take the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh into exile. And he brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan, where they remain to this day.

背著十字架到各各他

¹⁷他們就把耶穌帶了去。耶穌背著自己的十字架出來，到了一個地方，名叫「髑髏地」，希伯來話叫各各他。Carrying His own cross, He went out to The Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha.

¹⁸他們就在那裡釘他在十字架上，還有兩個人和他一同釘著，一邊一個，耶穌在中間。There they crucified Him, and with Him two others, one on each side, with Jesus in the middle.

猶太人的王

¹⁹彼拉多又用牌子寫了一個名號，安在十字架上，寫的是：「猶太人的王，拿撒勒人耶穌。」Pilate also had a notice posted on the cross. It read: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

²⁰有許多猶太人念這名號；因為耶穌被釘十字架的地方與城相近，並且是用希伯來、羅馬、希臘三樣文字寫的。Many of the Jews read this sign, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.

²¹猶太人的祭司長就對彼拉多說：「不要寫『猶太人的王』，要寫『他自己說：我是猶太人的王』。」So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but only that He said, ‘I am the King of the Jews.’”

²²彼拉多說：「我所寫的，我已經寫上了。」Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

兵丁為裡衣拈鬮

²³兵丁既然將耶穌釘在十字架上，就拿他的衣服分為四分，每兵一分；又拿他的裡衣，這件裡衣原來沒有縫兒，是上下一片織成的。When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided His garments into four parts, one for each soldier, with the tunic remaining. It was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

²⁴他們就彼此說：「我們不要撕開，只要拈鬮，看誰得著。」這要應驗經上的話說：他們分了我的外衣，為我的裡衣拈鬮。兵丁果然做了這事。So they said to one another, “Let us not tear it. Instead, let us cast lots to see who will get it.” This was to fulfill the Scripture: “They divided My garments among them, and cast lots for My clothing.” So that is what the soldiers did.

把母親託付給門徒

²⁵站在耶穌十字架旁邊的，有他母親與他母親的姊妹，並革羅罷的妻子馬利亞，和抹大拉的馬利亞。Near the cross of Jesus stood His mother and her sister, as well as Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene.

²⁶耶穌見母親和他所愛的那門徒站在旁邊，就對他母親說：「母親（原文是婦人），看，你的兒子！」When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, here is your son.”

²⁷又對那門徒說：「看，你的母親！」從此，那門徒就接她到自己家裡去了。Then He said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” So from that hour, this disciple took her into his home.

我渴了；成了

²⁸這事以後，耶穌知道各樣的事已經成了，為要使經上的話應驗，就說：「我渴了。」After this, knowing that everything had now been accomplished, and to fulfill the Scripture, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”

²⁹有一個器皿盛滿了醋，放在那裡；他們就拿海絨蘸滿了醋，綁在牛膝草上，送到他口。A jar of sour wine was sitting there. So they soaked a sponge in the wine, put it on a stalk of hyssop, and lifted it to His mouth.

³⁰耶穌嘗（原文是受）了那醋，就說：「成了！」便低下頭，將靈魂交付　神了。When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished.” And bowing His head, He yielded up His spirit.

肋旁流出血和水

³¹猶太人因這日是預備日，又因那安息日是個大日，就求彼拉多叫人打斷他們的腿，把他們拿去，免得屍首當安息日留在十字架上。It was the day of Preparation, and the next day was a High Sabbath. In order that the bodies would not remain on the cross during the Sabbath, the Jews asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies removed.

³²於是兵丁來，把頭一個人的腿，並與耶穌同釘第二個人的腿，都打斷了。So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and those of the other.

³³只是來到耶穌那裡，見他已經死了，就不打斷他的腿。But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.

³⁴惟有一個兵拿槍扎他的肋旁，隨即有血和水流出來。Instead, one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out.

³⁵看見這事的那人就作見證─他的見證也是真的，並且他知道自己所說的是真的─叫你們也可以信。The one who saw it has testified to this, and his testimony is true. He knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe.

³⁶這些事成了，為要應驗經上的話說：「他的骨頭一根也不可折斷。」Now these things happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of His bones will be broken.”

安葬在新墳墓裡

³⁸這些事以後，有亞利馬太人約瑟，是耶穌的門徒，只因怕猶太人，就暗暗地作門徒。他來求彼拉多，要把耶穌的身體領去。彼拉多允准，他就把耶穌的身體領去了。Afterward, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus (but secretly for fear of the Jews), asked Pilate to let him remove the body of Jesus. Pilate gave him permission, so he came and removed His body.

³⁹又有尼哥底母，就是先前夜裡去見耶穌的，帶著沒藥和沉香約有一百斤前來。Nicodemus, who had previously come to Jesus at night, also brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.

⁴⁰他們就照猶太人殯葬的規矩，把耶穌的身體用細麻布加上香料裹好了。So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it in linen cloths with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom.

⁴¹在耶穌釘十字架的地方有一個園子，園子裡有一座新墳墓，是從來沒有葬過人的。Now there was a garden in the place where Jesus was crucified, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid.

⁴²只因是猶太人的預備日，又因那墳墓近，他們就把耶穌安放在那裡。And because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and the tomb was nearby, they placed Jesus there.
