書念婦人的兒子死了

¹⁸孩子漸漸長大，一日到他父親和收割的人那裡，And the child grew, and one day he went out to his father, who was with the harvesters.

¹⁹他對父親說：「我的頭啊，我的頭啊！」他父親對僕人說：「把他抱到他母親那裡。」“My head! My head!” he complained to his father. So his father told a servant, “Carry him to his mother.”

²⁰僕人抱去，交給他母親；孩子坐在母親的膝上，到晌午就死了。After the servant had picked him up and carried him to his mother, the boy sat on her lap until noon, and then he died.

²¹他母親抱他上了樓，將他放在神人的床上，關上門出來，And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God. Then she shut the door and went out.

²²呼叫她丈夫說：「你叫一個僕人給我牽一匹驢來，我要快快地去見神人，就回來。」And the woman called her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants and one of the donkeys, that I may go quickly to the man of God and return.”

²³丈夫說：「今日不是月朔，也不是安息日，你為何要去見他呢？」婦人說：「平安無事。」“Why would you go to him today?” he replied. “It is not a New Moon or a Sabbath.” “Everything is all right,” she said.

²⁴於是備上驢，對僕人說：「你快快趕著走，我若不吩咐你，就不要遲慢。」Then she saddled the donkey and told her servant, “Drive onward; do not slow the pace for me unless I tell you.”

婦人到迦密山找神人

²⁵婦人就往迦密山去見神人。神人遠遠地看見她，對僕人基哈西說：「看哪，書念的婦人來了！So she set out and went to the man of God at Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her at a distance, he said to his servant Gehazi, “Look, there is the Shunammite woman.

²⁶你跑去迎接她，問她說：你平安嗎？你丈夫平安嗎？孩子平安嗎？」她說：「平安。」Please run out now to meet her and ask, ‘Are you all right? Is your husband all right? Is your child all right?’” And she answered, “Everything is all right.”

²⁷婦人上了山，到神人那裡，就抱住神人的腳。基哈西前來要推開她，神人說：「由她吧！因為她心裡愁苦，耶和華向我隱瞞，沒有指示我。」When she reached the man of God at the mountain, she clung to his feet. Gehazi came over to push her away, but the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for her soul is in deep distress, and the LORD has hidden it from me and has not told me.”

²⁸婦人說：「我何嘗向我主求過兒子呢？我豈沒有說過，不要欺哄我嗎？」Then she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my lord? Didn’t I say, ‘Do not deceive me?’”

²⁹以利沙吩咐基哈西說：「你束上腰，手拿我的杖前去；若遇見人，不要向他問安；人若向你問安，也不要回答；要把我的杖放在孩子臉上。」So Elisha said to Gehazi, “Tie up your garment, take my staff in your hand, and go! If you meet anyone, do not greet him, and if anyone greets you, do not answer him. Then lay my staff on the boy’s face.”

³⁰孩子的母親說：「我指著永生的耶和華，又敢在你面前起誓，我必不離開你。」於是以利沙起身，隨著她去了。And the mother of the boy said, “As surely as the LORD lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So he got up and followed her.

³¹基哈西先去，把杖放在孩子臉上，卻沒有聲音，也沒有動靜。基哈西就迎著以利沙回來，告訴他說：「孩子還沒有醒過來。」Gehazi went on ahead of them and laid the staff on the boy’s face, but there was no sound or response. So he went back to meet Elisha and told him, “The boy has not awakened.”

以利沙使孩子復活

³²以利沙來到，進了屋子，看見孩子死了，放在自己的床上。When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his bed.

³³他就關上門，只有自己和孩子在裡面，他便祈禱耶和華，So he went in, closed the door behind the two of them, and prayed to the LORD.

³⁴上床伏在孩子身上，口對口，眼對眼，手對手；既伏在孩子身上，孩子的身體就漸漸溫和了。Then Elisha got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eye to eye, and hand to hand. As he stretched himself out over him, the boy’s body became warm.

³⁵然後他下來，在屋裡來往走了一趟，又上去伏在孩子身上，孩子打了七個噴嚏，就睜開眼睛了。Elisha turned away and paced back and forth across the room. Then he got on the bed and stretched himself out over the boy again, and the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.

³⁶以利沙叫基哈西說：「你叫這書念婦人來」；於是叫了她來。以利沙說：「將你兒子抱起來。」Elisha summoned Gehazi and said, “Call the Shunammite woman.” So he called her and she came. Then Elisha said, “Pick up your son.”

³⁷婦人就進來，在以利沙腳前俯伏於地，抱起她兒子出去了。She came in, fell at his feet, and bowed to the ground. Then she picked up her son and went out.

鍋中的毒

³⁸以利沙又來到吉甲，那地正有饑荒。先知門徒坐在他面前，他吩咐僕人說：「你將大鍋放在火上，給先知門徒熬湯。」When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. As the sons of the prophets were sitting at his feet, he said to his attendant, “Put on the large pot and boil some stew for the sons of the prophets.”

³⁹有一個人去到田野掐菜，遇見一棵野瓜籐，就摘了一兜野瓜回來，切了擱在熬湯的鍋中，因為他們不知道是甚麼東西；One of them went out to the field to gather herbs, and he found a wild vine from which he gathered as many wild gourds as his garment could hold. Then he came back and cut them up into the pot of stew, though no one knew what they were.

⁴⁰倒出來給眾人吃，吃的時候，都喊叫說：「神人哪，鍋中有致死的毒物！」所以眾人不能吃了。And they poured it out for the men to eat, but when they tasted the stew they cried out, “There is death in the pot, O man of God!” And they could not eat it.

⁴¹以利沙說：「拿點麵來」，就把麵撒在鍋中，說：「倒出來，給眾人吃吧！」鍋中就沒有毒了。Then Elisha said, “Get some flour.” He threw it into the pot and said, “Pour it out for the people to eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.

二十個餅給一百人吃

⁴²有一個人從巴力‧沙利沙來，帶著初熟大麥做的餅二十個，並新穗子，裝在口袋裡送給神人。神人說：「把這些給眾人吃。」Now a man from Baal-shalishah came to the man of God with a sack of twenty loaves of barley bread from the first ripe grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” said Elisha.

⁴³僕人說：「這一點豈可擺給一百人吃呢？」以利沙說：「你只管給眾人吃吧！因為耶和華如此說，眾人必吃了，還剩下。」But his servant asked, “How am I to set twenty loaves before a hundred men?” “Give it to the people to eat,” said Elisha, “for this is what the LORD says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.’”

⁴⁴僕人就擺在眾人面前，他們吃了，果然還剩下，正如耶和華所說的。So he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.

長大痲瘋的元帥乃縵

¹亞蘭王的元帥乃縵在他主人面前為尊為大，因耶和華曾藉他使亞蘭人得勝；他又是大能的勇士，只是長了大痲瘋。Now Naaman, the commander of the army of the king of Aram, was a great man in his master’s sight and highly regarded, for through him the LORD had given victory to Aram. And he was a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.

²先前亞蘭人成群地出去，從以色列國擄了一個小女子，這女子就服事乃縵的妻。At this time the Arameans had gone out in bands and had taken a young girl from the land of Israel, and she was serving Naaman’s wife.

³她對主母說：「巴不得我主人去見撒馬利亞的先知，必能治好他的大痲瘋。」She said to her mistress, “If only my master would go to the prophet who is in Samaria, he would cure him of his leprosy.”

⁴乃縵進去，告訴他主人說，以色列國的女子如此如此說。And Naaman went and told his master what the girl from the land of Israel had said.

⁵亞蘭王說：「你可以去，我也達信於以色列王。」於是乃縵帶銀子十他連得，金子六千舍客勒，衣裳十套，就去了；“Go now,” said the king of Aram, “and I will send you with a letter to the king of Israel.” So Naaman departed, taking with him ten talents of silver, six thousand shekels of gold, and ten sets of clothing.

⁶且帶信給以色列王，信上說：「我打發臣僕乃縵去見你，你接到這信，就要治好他的大痲瘋。」And the letter that he took to the king of Israel stated: “With this letter I am sending my servant Naaman, so that you may cure him of his leprosy.”

⁷以色列王看了信就撕裂衣服，說：「我豈是　神，能使人死使人活呢？這人竟打發人來，叫我治好他的大痲瘋。你們看一看，這人何以尋隙攻擊我呢？」When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes and asked, “Am I God, killing and giving life, that this man expects me to cure a leper? Surely you can see that he is seeking a quarrel with me!”

在約旦河沐浴七回

⁸神人以利沙聽見以色列王撕裂衣服，就打發人去見王，說：「你為甚麼撕了衣服呢？可使那人到我這裡來，他就知道以色列中有先知了。」Now when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, he sent a message to the king: “Why have you torn your clothes? Please let the man come to me, and he will know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

⁹於是，乃縵帶著車馬到了以利沙的家，站在門前。So Naaman came with his horses and chariots and stood at the door of Elisha’s house.

¹⁰以利沙打發一個使者，對乃縵說：「你去在約旦河中沐浴七回，你的肉就必復原，而得潔淨。」Then Elisha sent him a messenger, who said, “Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored, and you will be clean.”

¹¹乃縵卻發怒走了，說：「我想他必定出來見我，站著求告耶和華─他　神的名，在患處以上搖手，治好這大痲瘋。But Naaman went away angry, saying, “I thought that he would surely come out, stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the spot to cure my leprosy.

¹²大馬士革的河亞罷拿和法珥法豈不比以色列的一切水更好嗎？我在那裡沐浴不得潔淨嗎？」於是氣忿忿地轉身去了。Are not the Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not have washed in them and been cleansed?” So he turned and went away in a rage.

¹³他的僕人進前來，對他說：「我父啊，先知若吩咐你做一件大事，你豈不做嗎？何況說你去沐浴而得潔淨呢？」Naaman’s servants, however, approached him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’?”

¹⁴於是乃縵下去，照著神人的話，在約旦河裡沐浴七回；他的肉復原，好像小孩子的肉，他就潔淨了。So Naaman went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, according to the word of the man of God, and his flesh was restored and became like that of a little child, and he was clean.

乃縵歸向耶和華

¹⁵乃縵帶著一切跟隨他的人，回到神人那裡，站在他面前，說：「如今我知道，除了以色列之外，普天下沒有　神。現在求你收點僕人的禮物。」Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God, stood before him, and declared, “Now I know for sure that there is no God in all the earth except in Israel. So please accept a gift from your servant.”

¹⁶以利沙說：「我指著所事奉永生的耶和華起誓，我必不受。」乃縵再三地求他，他卻不受。But Elisha replied, “As surely as the LORD lives, before whom I stand, I will not accept it.” And although Naaman urged him to accept it, he refused.

¹⁷乃縵說：「你若不肯受，請將兩騾子馱的土賜給僕人。從今以後，僕人必不再將燔祭或平安祭獻與別神，只獻給耶和華。“If you will not,” said Naaman, “please let me, your servant, be given as much soil as a pair of mules can carry. For your servant will never again make a burnt offering or a sacrifice to any other god but the LORD.

¹⁸惟有一件事，願耶和華饒恕你僕人：我主人進臨門廟叩拜的時候，我用手攙他在臨門廟，我也屈身。我在臨門廟屈身的這事，願耶和華饒恕我。」Yet may the LORD forgive your servant this one thing: When my master goes into the temple of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my arm, and I bow down in the temple of Rimmon, may the LORD forgive your servant in this matter.”

¹⁹以利沙對他說：「你可以平平安安地回去！」乃縵就離開他去了；走了不遠，“Go in peace,” said Elisha. But after Naaman had traveled a short distance,

基哈西貪財

²⁰神人以利沙的僕人基哈西心裡說：「我主人不願從這亞蘭人乃縵手裡受他帶來的禮物，我指著永生的耶和華起誓，我必跑去追上他，向他要些。」Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Look, my master has spared this Aramean, Naaman, by not accepting what he brought. As surely as the LORD lives, I will run after him and get something from him.”

²¹於是基哈西追趕乃縵。乃縵看見有人追趕，就急忙下車迎著他，說：「都平安嗎？」So Gehazi pursued Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running toward him, he got down from the chariot to meet him and asked, “Is everything all right?”

²²說：「都平安。我主人打發我來說：『剛才有兩個少年人，是先知門徒，從以法蓮山地來見我，請你賜他們一他連得銀子，兩套衣裳。』」“Everything is all right,” Gehazi replied. “My master has sent me to say, ‘Look, two young men from the sons of the prophets have just now come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two sets of clothing.’”

²³乃縵說：「請受二他連得」；再三地請受，便將二他連得銀子裝在兩個口袋裡，又將兩套衣裳交給兩個僕人；他們就在基哈西前頭抬著走。But Naaman insisted, “Please, take two talents.” And he urged Gehazi to accept them. Then he tied up two talents of silver in two bags along with two sets of clothing and gave them to two of his servants, who carried them ahead of Gehazi.

²⁴到了山岡，基哈西從他們手中接過來，放在屋裡，打發他們回去。When Gehazi came to the hill, he took the gifts from the servants and stored them in the house. Then he dismissed the men, and they departed.

²⁵基哈西進去，站在他主人面前。以利沙問他說：「基哈西你從哪裡來？」回答說：「僕人沒有往哪裡去。」When Gehazi went in and stood before his master, Elisha asked him, “Gehazi, where have you been?” “Your servant did not go anywhere,” he replied.

²⁶以利沙對他說：「那人下車轉回迎你的時候，我的心豈沒有去呢？這豈是受銀子、衣裳、買橄欖園、葡萄園、牛羊、僕婢的時候呢？But Elisha questioned him, “Did not my spirit go with you when the man got down from his chariot to meet you? Is this the time to accept money and clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, menservants and maidservants?

²⁷因此，乃縵的大痲瘋必沾染你和你的後裔，直到永遠。」基哈西從以利沙面前退出去，就長了大痲瘋，像雪那樣白。Therefore, the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and your descendants forever!” And as Gehazi left his presence, he was leprous—as white as snow.

斧頭漂上來

¹先知門徒對以利沙說：「看哪，我們同你所住的地方過於窄小，Now the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “Please take note that the place where we meet with you is too small for us.

²求你容我們往約旦河去，各人從那裡取一根木料建造房屋居住。」他說：「你們去吧！」Please let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a log so we can build ourselves a place to live there.” “Go,” said Elisha.

³有一人說：「求你與僕人同去。」回答說：「我可以去。」Then one of them said, “Please come with your servants.” “I will come,” he replied.

⁴於是以利沙與他們同去。到了約旦河，就砍伐樹木。So Elisha went with them, and when they came to the Jordan, they began to cut down some trees.

⁵有一人砍樹的時候，斧頭掉在水裡，他就呼叫說：「哀哉！我主啊，這斧子是借的。」As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axe head fell into the water. “Oh, my master,” he cried out, “it was borrowed!”

⁶神人問說：「掉在哪裡了？」他將那地方指給以利沙看。以利沙砍了一根木頭，拋在水裡，斧頭就漂上來了。“Where did it fall?” asked the man of God. And when he showed him the place, the man of God cut a stick, threw it there, and made the iron float.

⁷以利沙說：「拿起來吧！」那人就伸手拿起來了。“Lift it out,” he said, and the man reached out his hand and took it.

拉撒路病了

¹有一個患病的人，名叫拉撒路，住在伯大尼，就是馬利亞和她姊姊馬大的村莊。At this time a man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

²這馬利亞就是那用香膏抹主，又用頭髮擦他腳的；患病的拉撒路是她的兄弟。(Mary, whose brother Lazarus was sick, was to anoint the Lord with perfume and wipe His feet with her hair.)

³她姊妹兩個就打發人去見耶穌，說：「主啊，你所愛的人病了。」So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one You love is sick.”

⁴耶穌聽見，就說：「這病不至於死，乃是為　神的榮耀，叫　神的兒子因此得榮耀。」When Jesus heard this, He said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

⁵耶穌素來愛馬大和她妹子並拉撒路。Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

⁶聽見拉撒路病了，就在所居之地仍住了兩天。So on hearing that Lazarus was sick, He stayed where He was for two days,

再往猶太去

⁷然後對門徒說：「我們再往猶太去吧。」and then He said to the disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.”

⁸門徒說：「拉比，猶太人近來要拿石頭打你，你還往那裡去嗎？」“Rabbi,” they replied, “the Jews just tried to stone You, and You are going back there?”

⁹耶穌回答說：「白日不是有十二小時嗎？人在白日走路，就不至跌倒，因為看見這世上的光。Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? If anyone walks in the daytime, he will not stumble, because he sees by the light of this world.

¹⁰若在黑夜走路，就必跌倒，因為他沒有光。」But if anyone walks at night, he will stumble, because he has no light.”

¹¹耶穌說了這話，隨後對他們說：「我們的朋友拉撒路睡了，我去叫醒他。」After He had said this, He told them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to wake him up.”

¹²門徒說：「主啊，他若睡了，就必好了。」His disciples replied, “Lord, if he is sleeping, he will get better.”

¹³耶穌這話是指著他死說的，他們卻以為是說照常睡了。They thought that Jesus was talking about actual sleep, but He was speaking about the death of Lazarus.

¹⁴耶穌就明明地告訴他們說：「拉撒路死了。So Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead,

¹⁵我沒有在那裡就歡喜，這是為你們的緣故，好叫你們相信。如今我們可以往他那裡去吧。」and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”

¹⁶多馬，又稱為低土馬，就對那同作門徒的說：「我們也去和他同死吧。」Then Thomas called Didymus said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, so that we may die with Him.”

馬大迎接耶穌

¹⁷耶穌到了，就知道拉撒路在墳墓裡已經四天了。When Jesus arrived, He found that Lazarus had already spent four days in the tomb.

¹⁸伯大尼離耶路撒冷不遠，約有六里路。Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, a little less than two miles away,

¹⁹有好些猶太人來看馬大和馬利亞，要為她們的兄弟安慰她們。and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them in the loss of their brother.

²⁰馬大聽見耶穌來了，就出去迎接他；馬利亞卻仍然坐在家裡。So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet Him, but Mary stayed at home.

²¹馬大對耶穌說：「主啊，你若早在這裡，我兄弟必不死。Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

²²就是現在，我也知道，你無論向　神求甚麼，　神也必賜給你。」But even now I know that God will give You whatever You ask of Him.”

²³耶穌說：「你兄弟必然復活。」“Your brother will rise again,” Jesus told her.

²⁴馬大說：「我知道在末日復活的時候，他必復活。」Martha replied, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

復活在我，生命也在我

²⁵耶穌對她說：「復活在我，生命也在我。信我的人雖然死了，也必復活；Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies.

²⁶凡活著信我的人必永遠不死。你信這話嗎？」And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”

²⁷馬大說：「主啊，是的，我信你是基督，是　神的兒子，就是那要臨到世界的。」“Yes, Lord,” she answered, “I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.”

馬利亞俯伏在耶穌腳前

²⁸馬大說了這話，就回去暗暗地叫她妹子馬利亞，說：「夫子來了，叫你。」After Martha had said this, she went back and called her sister Mary aside to tell her, “The Teacher is here and is asking for you.”

²⁹馬利亞聽見了，就急忙起來，到耶穌那裡去。And when Mary heard this, she got up quickly and went to Him.

³⁰那時，耶穌還沒有進村子，仍在馬大迎接他的地方。Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met Him.

³¹那些同馬利亞在家裡安慰她的猶太人，見她急忙起來出去，就跟著她，以為她要往墳墓那裡去哭。When the Jews who were in the house consoling Mary saw how quickly she got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was going to the tomb to mourn there.

³²馬利亞到了耶穌那裡，看見他，就俯伏在他腳前，說：「主啊，你若早在這裡，我兄弟必不死。」When Mary came to Jesus and saw Him, she fell at His feet and said, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

耶穌哭了

³³耶穌看見她哭，並看見與她同來的猶太人也哭，就心裡悲歎，又甚憂愁，When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.

³⁴便說：「你們把他安放在哪裡？」他們回答說：「請主來看。」“Where have you put him?” He asked. “Come and see, Lord,” they answered.

³⁵耶穌哭了。Jesus wept.

³⁶猶太人就說：「你看他愛這人是何等懇切。」Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”

³⁷其中有人說：「他既然開了瞎子的眼睛，豈不能叫這人不死嗎？」But some of them asked, “Could not this man who opened the eyes of the blind also have kept Lazarus from dying?”

把石頭挪開

³⁸耶穌又心裡悲歎，來到墳墓前；那墳墓是個洞，有一塊石頭擋著。Jesus, once again deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.

³⁹耶穌說：「你們把石頭挪開。」那死人的姊姊馬大對他說：「主啊，他現在必是臭了，因為他死了已經四天了。」“Take away the stone,” Jesus said. “Lord, by now he stinks,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man. “It has already been four days.”

⁴⁰耶穌說：「我不是對你說過，你若信，就必看見　神的榮耀嗎？」Jesus replied, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”
