羅波安去世

³¹羅波安與他列祖同睡，葬在大衛城他列祖的墳地裡。他母親名叫拿瑪，是亞捫人。他兒子亞比央（又名亞比雅）接續他作王。And Rehoboam rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David; his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonite. And his son Abijam reigned in his place.

猶大王亞比央

¹尼八的兒子耶羅波安王十八年，亞比央登基作猶大王，In the eighteenth year of the reign of Jeroboam son of Nebat, Abijam became king of Judah,

²在耶路撒冷作王三年。他母親名叫瑪迦，是押沙龍的女兒。and he reigned in Jerusalem three years. His mother’s name was Maacah daughter of Abishalom.

³亞比央行他父親在他以前所行的一切惡，他的心不像他祖大衛的心，誠誠實實地順服耶和華─他的　神。And Abijam walked in all the sins that his father before him had committed, and his heart was not as fully devoted to the LORD his God as the heart of David his forefather had been.

⁴然而耶和華─他的　神因大衛的緣故，仍使他在耶路撒冷有燈光，叫他兒子接續他作王，堅立耶路撒冷。Nevertheless, for the sake of David, the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and to make Jerusalem strong.

⁵因為大衛除了赫人烏利亞那件事，都是行耶和華眼中看為正的事，一生沒有違背耶和華一切所吩咐的。For David had done what was right in the eyes of the LORD and had not turned aside from anything the LORD commanded all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

⁶羅波安在世的日子常與耶羅波安爭戰。And there was war between the houses of Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of Abijam’s life.

⁷亞比央其餘的事，凡他所行的，都寫在猶大列王記上。亞比央常與耶羅波安爭戰。As for the rest of the acts of Abijam, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

猶大王亞撒除去偶像

⁹以色列王耶羅波安二十年，亞撒登基作猶大王，In the twentieth year of Jeroboam’s reign over Israel, Asa became king of Judah,

¹⁰在耶路撒冷作王四十一年。他祖母名叫瑪迦，是押沙龍的女兒。and he reigned in Jerusalem forty-one years. His grandmother’s name was Maacah daughter of Abishalom.

¹¹亞撒效法他祖大衛行耶和華眼中看為正的事，And Asa did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, as his father David had done.

¹²從國中除去孌童，又除掉他列祖所造的一切偶像；He banished the male shrine prostitutes from the land and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.

¹³並且貶了他祖母瑪迦太后的位，因她造了可憎的偶像亞舍拉。亞撒砍下她的偶像，燒在汲淪溪邊，He also removed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother because she had made a detestable Asherah pole. Asa chopped down the pole and burned it in the Kidron Valley.

¹⁴只是邱壇還沒有廢去。亞撒一生卻向耶和華存誠實的心。The high places were not removed, but Asa’s heart was fully devoted to the LORD all his days.

¹⁵亞撒將他父親所分別為聖與自己所分別為聖的金銀和器皿都奉到耶和華的殿裡。And he brought into the house of the LORD the silver and gold and the articles that he and his father had dedicated.

亞撒聯合亞蘭對抗巴沙

¹⁶亞撒和以色列王巴沙在世的日子常常爭戰。Now there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel throughout their days.

¹⁷以色列王巴沙上來要攻擊猶大，修築拉瑪，不許人從猶大王亞撒那裡出入。Baasha king of Israel went to war against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Judah.

¹⁸於是亞撒將耶和華殿和王宮府庫裡所剩下的金銀都交在他臣僕手中，打發他們往住大馬士革的亞蘭王─希旬的孫子、他伯利們的兒子便‧哈達那裡去，So Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal palace. He entrusted it to his servants and sent them with this message to Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus:

¹⁹說：「你父曾與我父立約，我與你也要立約。現在我將金銀送你為禮物，求你廢掉你與以色列王巴沙所立的約，使他離開我。」“Let there be a treaty between me and you as there was between my father and your father. See, I have sent you a gift of silver and gold. Now go and break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he will withdraw from me.”

²⁰便‧哈達聽從亞撒王的話，派軍長去攻擊以色列的城邑；他們就攻破以雲、但、亞伯‧伯‧瑪迦、基尼烈全境、拿弗他利全境。And Ben-hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel, conquering Ijon, Dan, Abel-beth-maacah, and the whole land of Naphtali, including the region of Chinnereth.

²¹巴沙聽見，就停工不修築拉瑪了，仍住在得撒。When Baasha learned of this, he stopped fortifying Ramah and withdrew to Tirzah.

²²於是亞撒王宣告猶大眾人，不准一個推辭，吩咐他們將巴沙修築拉瑪所用的石頭、木頭都運去，用以修築便雅憫的迦巴和米斯巴。Then King Asa summoned all the men of Judah, with no exceptions, and they carried away the stones of Ramah and the timbers Baasha had used for building. And with these materials King Asa built up Geba of Benjamin, as well as Mizpah.

²³亞撒其餘的事，凡他所行的，並他的勇力與他所建築的城邑，都寫在猶大列王記上。亞撒年老的時候，腳上有病。Now the rest of the acts of Asa, along with all his might, all his accomplishments, and the cities he built, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? In his old age, however, he became diseased in his feet.

以色列王拿答被巴沙所殺

²⁵猶大王亞撒第二年，耶羅波安的兒子拿答登基作以色列王共二年，In the second year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Nadab son of Jeroboam became king of Israel, and he reigned two years.

²⁶拿答行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，行他父親所行的，犯他父親使以色列人陷在罪裡的那罪。And he did evil in the sight of the LORD and walked in the way of his father and in his sin, which he had caused Israel to commit.

²⁷以薩迦人亞希雅的兒子巴沙背叛拿答，在非利士的基比頓殺了他。那時拿答和以色列眾人正圍困基比頓。Then Baasha son of Ahijah of the house of Issachar conspired against Nadab, and Baasha struck him down at Gibbethon of the Philistines while Nadab and all Israel were besieging the city.

²⁸在猶大王亞撒第三年巴沙殺了他，篡了他的位。In the third year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Baasha killed Nadab and reigned in his place.

²⁹巴沙一作王就殺了耶羅波安的全家，凡有氣息的沒有留下一個，都滅盡了，正應驗耶和華藉他僕人示羅人亞希雅所說的話。As soon as Baasha became king, he struck down the entire household of Jeroboam. He did not leave to Jeroboam anyone who breathed, but destroyed them all according to the word that the LORD had spoken through His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

³⁰這是因為耶羅波安所犯的罪使以色列人陷在罪裡，惹動耶和華─以色列　神的怒氣。because of the sins Jeroboam had committed and had caused Israel to commit, and because he had provoked the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger.

³¹拿答其餘的事，凡他所行的，都寫在以色列諸王記上。As for the rest of the acts of Nadab, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

³²亞撒和以色列王巴沙在世的日子常常爭戰。And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel throughout their days.

以色列王巴沙

³³猶大王亞撒第三年，亞希雅的兒子巴沙在得撒登基作以色列眾人的王共二十四年。In the third year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Baasha son of Ahijah became king of all Israel, and he reigned in Tirzah twenty-four years.

³⁴他行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，行耶羅波安所行的道，犯他使以色列人陷在罪裡的那罪。And Baasha did evil in the sight of the LORD and walked in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin, which he had caused Israel to commit.

先知耶戶責備巴沙

¹耶和華的話臨到哈拿尼的兒子耶戶，責備巴沙說：Then the word of the LORD came to Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha, saying:

²「我既從塵埃中提拔你，立你作我民以色列的君，你竟行耶羅波安所行的道，使我民以色列陷在罪裡，惹我發怒，“Even though I lifted you out of the dust and made you ruler over My people Israel, you have walked in the way of Jeroboam and have caused My people Israel to sin and to provoke Me to anger by their sins.

³我必除盡你和你的家，使你的家像尼八的兒子耶羅波安的家一樣。So now I will consume Baasha and his house, and I will make your house like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat:

⁴凡屬巴沙的人，死在城中的必被狗吃，死在田野的必被空中的鳥吃。」Anyone belonging to Baasha who dies in the city will be eaten by dogs, and anyone who dies in the field will be eaten by the birds of the air.”

⁵巴沙其餘的事，凡他所行的和他的勇力，都寫在以色列諸王記上。As for the rest of the acts of Baasha, along with his accomplishments and might, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

⁶巴沙與他列祖同睡，葬在得撒。他兒子以拉接續他作王。And Baasha rested with his fathers and was buried in Tirzah, and his son Elah reigned in his place.

⁷耶和華的話臨到哈拿尼的兒子先知耶戶，責備巴沙和他的家，因他行耶和華眼中看為惡的一切事，以他手所做的惹耶和華發怒，像耶羅波安的家一樣，又因他殺了耶羅波安的全家。Moreover, the word of the LORD came through the prophet Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha and his house, because of all the evil he had done in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger with the work of his hands and becoming like the house of Jeroboam, and also because Baasha had struck down the house of Jeroboam.

以拉被心利所殺

⁸猶大王亞撒二十六年，巴沙的兒子以拉在得撒登基作以色列王共二年。In the twenty-sixth year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Elah son of Baasha became king of Israel, and he reigned in Tirzah two years.

⁹有管理他一半戰車的臣子心利背叛他。當他在得撒家宰亞雜家裡喝醉的時候，However, while Elah was in Tirzah getting drunk in the house of Arza the steward of his household there, Elah’s servant Zimri, the commander of half his chariots, conspired against him.

¹⁰心利就進去殺了他，篡了他的位。這是猶大王亞撒二十七年的事。So in the twenty-seventh year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Zimri went in, struck Elah down, and killed him. And Zimri reigned in his place.

¹¹心利一坐王位就殺了巴沙的全家，連他的親屬、朋友也沒有留下一個男丁。As soon as Zimri began to reign and was seated on the throne, he struck down the entire household of Baasha. He did not leave a single male, whether a kinsman or friend.

¹²心利這樣滅絕巴沙的全家，正如耶和華藉先知耶戶責備巴沙的話。So Zimri destroyed the entire household of Baasha, according to the word that the LORD had spoken against Baasha through Jehu the prophet.

¹³這是因巴沙和他兒子以拉的一切罪，就是他們使以色列人陷在罪裡的那罪，以虛無的神惹耶和華─以色列　神的怒氣。This happened because of all the sins Baasha and his son Elah had committed and had caused Israel to commit, provoking the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their worthless idols.

¹⁴以拉其餘的事，凡他所行的，都寫在以色列諸王記上。As for the rest of the acts of Elah, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

心利作王七日

¹⁵猶大王亞撒二十七年，心利在得撒作王七日。那時民正安營圍攻非利士的基比頓。In the twenty-seventh year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Zimri reigned in Tirzah for seven days. Now the troops were encamped against Gibbethon of the Philistines,

¹⁶民在營中聽說心利背叛，又殺了王，故此以色列眾人當日在營中立元帥暗利作以色列王。and the people in the camp heard that Zimri had conspired against the king and struck him down. So there in the camp that very day, all Israel proclaimed Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel.

¹⁷暗利率領以色列眾人，從基比頓上去，圍困得撒。Then Omri and all the Israelites marched up from Gibbethon and besieged Tirzah.

¹⁸心利見城破失，就進了王宮的衛所，放火焚燒宮殿，自焚而死。When Zimri saw that the city was captured, he entered the citadel of the royal palace and burned it down upon himself. So he died

¹⁹這是因他犯罪，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，行耶羅波安所行的，犯他使以色列人陷在罪裡的那罪。because of the sins he had committed, doing evil in the sight of the LORD and following the example of Jeroboam and the sin he had committed and had caused Israel to commit.

²⁰心利其餘的事和他背叛的情形都寫在以色列諸王記上。As for the rest of the acts of Zimri and the treason he committed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

民分兩半，暗利得勝

²¹那時，以色列民分為兩半：一半隨從基納的兒子提比尼，要立他作王；一半隨從暗利。At that time the people of Israel were divided: Half of the people supported Tibni son of Ginath as king, and half supported Omri.

²²但隨從暗利的民勝過隨從基納的兒子提比尼的民。提比尼死了，暗利就作了王。But the followers of Omri proved stronger than those of Tibni son of Ginath. So Tibni died and Omri became king.

暗利建造撒馬利亞城

²³猶大王亞撒三十一年，暗利登基作以色列王共十二年；在得撒作王六年。In the thirty-first year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned twelve years, six of them in Tirzah.

²⁴暗利用二他連得銀子向撒瑪買了撒馬利亞山，在山上造城，就按著山的原主撒瑪的名，給所造的城起名叫撒馬利亞。He bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver and built a city there, calling it Samaria after the name of Shemer, who had owned the hill.

²⁵暗利行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，比他以前的列王作惡更甚。But Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD and acted more wickedly than all who were before him.

²⁶因他行了尼八的兒子耶羅波安所行的，犯他使以色列人陷在罪裡的那罪，以虛無的神惹耶和華─以色列　神的怒氣。For he walked in all the ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat and in his sins, which he caused Israel to commit, provoking the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger with their worthless idols.

²⁷暗利其餘的事和他所顯出的勇力都寫在以色列諸王記上。As for the rest of the acts of Omri, along with his accomplishments and the might he exercised, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

²⁸暗利與他列祖同睡，葬在撒馬利亞。他兒子亞哈接續他作王。And Omri rested with his fathers and was buried in Samaria, and his son Ahab reigned in his place.

亞哈娶耶洗別、拜巴力

²⁹猶大王亞撒三十八年，暗利的兒子亞哈登基作了以色列王。暗利的兒子亞哈在撒馬利亞作以色列王二十二年。In the thirty-eighth year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria twenty-two years.

³⁰暗利的兒子亞哈行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，比他以前的列王更甚，However, Ahab son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD, more than all who were before him.

³¹犯了尼八的兒子耶羅波安所犯的罪；他還以為輕，又娶了西頓王謁巴力的女兒耶洗別為妻，去事奉敬拜巴力，And as if it were not enough for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, he even married Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and he then proceeded to serve and worship Baal.

³²在撒馬利亞建造巴力的廟，在廟裡為巴力築壇。First, Ahab set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal that he had built in Samaria.

³³亞哈又做亞舍拉，他所行的惹耶和華─以色列　神的怒氣，比他以前的以色列諸王更甚。Then he set up an Asherah pole. Thus Ahab did more to provoke the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel before him.

希伊勒重修耶利哥

³⁴亞哈在位的時候，有伯特利人希伊勒重修耶利哥城；立根基的時候，喪了長子亞比蘭；安門的時候，喪了幼子西割，正如耶和華藉嫩的兒子約書亞所說的話。In Ahab’s days, Hiel the Bethelite rebuilt Jericho. At the cost of Abiram his firstborn he laid its foundation, and at the cost of Segub his youngest he set up its gates, according to the word that the LORD had spoken through Joshua son of Nun.

活水的江河

³⁷節期的末日，就是最大之日，耶穌站著高聲說：「人若渴了，可以到我這裡來喝。On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and called out in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.

³⁸信我的人就如經上所說：『從他腹中要流出活水的江河來。』」Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said: ‘Streams of living water will flow from within him.’”

³⁹耶穌這話是指著信他之人要受聖靈說的。那時還沒有賜下聖靈來，因為耶穌尚未得著榮耀。He was speaking about the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive. For the Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.

眾人因耶穌起了紛爭

⁴⁰眾人聽見這話，有的說：「這真是那先知。」On hearing these words, some of the people said, “This is truly the Prophet.”

⁴¹有的說：「這是基督。」但也有的說：「基督豈是從加利利出來的嗎？Others declared, “This is the Christ.” But still others asked, “How can the Christ come from Galilee?

⁴²經上豈不是說『基督是大衛的後裔，從大衛本鄉伯利恆出來的』嗎？」Doesn’t the Scripture say that the Christ will come from the line of David and from Bethlehem, the village where David lived?”

⁴³於是眾人因著耶穌起了紛爭。So there was division in the crowd because of Jesus.

⁴⁴其中有人要捉拿他，只是無人下手。Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid a hand on Him.

差役空手而回

⁴⁵差役回到祭司長和法利賽人那裡。他們對差役說：「你們為甚麼沒有帶他來呢？」Then the officers returned to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, “Why didn’t you bring Him in?”

⁴⁶差役回答說：「從來沒有像他這樣說話的！」“Never has anyone spoken like this man!” the officers answered.

⁴⁷法利賽人說：「你們也受了迷惑嗎？“Have you also been deceived?” replied the Pharisees.

⁴⁸官長或是法利賽人豈有信他的呢？“Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?

⁴⁹但這些不明白律法的百姓是被咒詛的！」But this crowd that does not know the law—they are under a curse.”

尼哥底母說公道話

⁵⁰內中有尼哥底母，就是從前去見耶穌的，對他們說：Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who himself was one of them, asked,

⁵¹「不先聽本人的口供，不知道他所做的事，難道我們的律法還定他的罪嗎？」“Does our law convict a man without first hearing from him to determine what he has done?”

⁵²他們回答說：「你也是出於加利利嗎？你且去查考，就可知道加利利沒有出過先知。」“Aren’t you also from Galilee?” they replied. “Look into it, and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.”
