所羅門國中的繁榮

²⁰猶大人和以色列人如同海邊的沙那樣多，都吃喝快樂。The people of Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand on the seashore, and they were eating and drinking and rejoicing.

²¹所羅門統管諸國，從大河到非利士地，直到埃及的邊界。所羅門在世的日子，這些國都進貢服事他。And Solomon reigned over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These kingdoms offered tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.

²²所羅門每日所用的食物：細麵三十歌珥，粗麵六十歌珥，Solomon’s provisions for a single day were thirty cors of fine flour, sixty cors of meal,

²³肥牛十隻，草場的牛二十隻，羊一百隻，還有鹿、羚羊、麃子，並肥禽。ten fat oxen, twenty range oxen, and a hundred sheep, as well as deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fattened poultry.

²⁴所羅門管理大河西邊的諸王，以及從提弗薩直到迦薩的全地，四境盡都平安。For Solomon had dominion over everything west of the Euphrates—over all the kingdoms from Tiphsah to Gaza—and he had peace on all sides.

²⁵所羅門在世的日子，從但到別是巴的猶大人和以色列人都在自己的葡萄樹下和無花果樹下安然居住。Throughout the days of Solomon, Judah and Israel dwelt securely from Dan to Beersheba, each man under his own vine and his own fig tree.

²⁶所羅門有套車的馬四萬，還有馬兵一萬二千。Solomon had 4,000 stalls for his chariot horses and 12,000 horses.

²⁷那十二個官吏各按各月供給所羅門王，並一切與他同席之人的食物，一無所缺。Each month the governors in turn provided food for King Solomon and all who came to his table. They saw to it that nothing was lacking.

²⁸眾人各按各分，將養馬與快馬的大麥和乾草送到官吏那裡。Each one also brought to the required place their quotas of barley and straw for the chariot horses and other horses.

所羅門的智慧

²⁹神賜給所羅門極大的智慧聰明和廣大的心，如同海沙不可測量。And God gave Solomon wisdom, exceedingly deep insight, and understanding beyond measure, like the sand on the seashore.

³⁰所羅門的智慧超過東方人和埃及人的一切智慧。Solomon’s wisdom was greater than that of all the men of the East, greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.

³¹他的智慧勝過萬人，勝過以斯拉人以探，並瑪曷的兒子希幔、甲各、達大的智慧。他的名聲傳揚在四圍的列國。He was wiser than all men—wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and wiser than Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame spread throughout the surrounding nations.

³²他作箴言三千句，詩歌一千零五首。Solomon composed three thousand proverbs, and his songs numbered a thousand and five.

³³他講論草木，自黎巴嫩的香柏樹直到牆上長的牛膝草，又講論飛禽走獸、昆蟲水族。He spoke of trees, from the cedar in Lebanon to the hyssop growing in the wall, and he taught about animals, birds, reptiles, and fish.

³⁴天下列王聽見所羅門的智慧，就都差人來聽他的智慧話。So men of all nations came to listen to Solomon’s wisdom, sent by all the kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.

與泰爾王希蘭立約

¹泰爾王希蘭，平素愛大衛；他聽見以色列人膏所羅門，接續他父親作王，就差遣臣僕來見他。Now when Hiram king of Tyre heard that Solomon had been anointed king in his father’s place, he sent envoys to Solomon; for Hiram had always been a friend of David.

²所羅門也差遣人去見希蘭，說：And Solomon relayed this message to Hiram:

³「你知道我父親大衛因四圍的爭戰，不能為耶和華─他　神的名建殿，直等到耶和華使仇敵都服在他腳下。“As you are well aware, due to the wars waged on all sides against my father David, he could not build a house for the Name of the LORD his God until the LORD had put his enemies under his feet.

⁴現在耶和華─我的　神使我四圍平安，沒有仇敵，沒有災禍。But now the LORD my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or crisis.

⁵我定意要為耶和華─我　神的名建殿，是照耶和華應許我父親大衛的話說：『我必使你兒子接續你坐你的位，他必為我的名建殿。』So behold, I plan to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God, according to what the LORD said to my father David: ‘I will put your son on your throne in your place, and he will build the house for My Name.’

⁶所以求你吩咐你的僕人在黎巴嫩為我砍伐香柏木，我的僕人也必幫助他們，我必照你所定的，給你僕人的工價；因為你知道，在我們中間沒有人像西頓人善於砍伐樹木。」Now therefore, order that cedars of Lebanon be cut down for me. My servants will be with your servants, and I will pay your servants whatever wages you set, for you know that there are none among us as skilled in logging as the Sidonians.”

⁷希蘭聽見所羅門的話，就甚喜悅，說：「今日應當稱頌耶和華；因他賜給大衛一個有智慧的兒子，治理這眾多的民。」When Hiram received Solomon’s message, he rejoiced greatly and said, “Blessed be the LORD this day! He has given David a wise son over this great people!”

⁸希蘭打發人去見所羅門，說：「你差遣人向我所提的那事，我都聽見了；論到香柏木和松木，我必照你的心願而行。Then Hiram sent a reply to Solomon, saying: “I have received your message; I will do all you desire regarding the cedar and cypress timber.

⁹我的僕人必將這木料從黎巴嫩運到海裡，紮成筏子，浮海運到你所指定我的地方，在那裡拆開，你就可以收取；你也要成全我的心願，將食物給我的家。」My servants will haul the logs from Lebanon to the Sea, and I will float them as rafts by sea to the place you specify. There I will separate the logs, and you can take them away. And in exchange, you can meet my needs by providing my household with food.”

¹⁰於是希蘭照著所羅門所要的，給他香柏木和松木；So Hiram provided Solomon with all the cedar and cypress timber he wanted,

¹¹所羅門給希蘭麥子二萬歌珥，清油二十歌珥，作他家的食物。所羅門每年都是這樣給希蘭。and year after year Solomon would provide Hiram with 20,000 cors of wheat as food for his household, as well as 20,000 baths of pure olive oil.

¹²耶和華照著所應許的賜智慧給所羅門。希蘭與所羅門和好，彼此立約。And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as He had promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty.

徵調服苦的人

¹³所羅門王從以色列人中挑取服苦的人共有三萬，Then King Solomon conscripted a labor force of 30,000 men from all Israel.

¹⁴派他們輪流每月一萬人上黎巴嫩去；一個月在黎巴嫩，兩個月在家裡。亞多尼蘭掌管他們。He sent them to Lebanon in monthly shifts of 10,000 men, so that they would spend one month in Lebanon and two months at home. And Adoniram was in charge of the forced labor.

¹⁵所羅門用七萬扛抬的，八萬在山上鑿石頭的。Solomon had 70,000 porters and 80,000 stonecutters in the mountains,

¹⁶此外，所羅門用三千三百督工的，監管工人。not including his 3,300 foremen who supervised the workers.

¹⁷王下令，人就鑿出又大又寶貴的石頭來，用以立殿的根基。And the king commanded them to quarry large, costly stones to lay the foundation of the temple with dressed stones.

¹⁸所羅門的匠人和希蘭的匠人，並迦巴勒人，都將石頭鑿好，預備木料和石頭建殿。So Solomon’s and Hiram’s builders, along with the Gebalites, quarried the stone and prepared the timber and stone for the construction of the temple.

開工建殿

¹以色列人出埃及地後四百八十年，所羅門作以色列王第四年西弗月，就是二月，開工建造耶和華的殿。In the four hundred and eightieth year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, the second month, he began to build the house of the LORD.

²所羅門王為耶和華所建的殿，長六十肘，寬二十肘，高三十肘。The house that King Solomon built for the LORD was sixty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and thirty cubits high.

³殿前的廊子長二十肘，與殿的寬窄一樣，闊十肘；The portico at the front of the main hall of the temple was twenty cubits long, extending across the width of the temple and projecting out ten cubits in front of the temple.

⁴又為殿做了嚴緊的窗櫺。He also had narrow windows framed high in the temple.

⁵靠著殿牆，圍著外殿內殿，造了三層旁屋；Against the walls of the temple and the inner sanctuary, Solomon built a chambered structure around the temple, in which he constructed the side rooms.

⁶下層寬五肘，中層寬六肘，上層寬七肘。殿外旁屋的樑木擱在殿牆坎上，免得插入殿牆。The bottom floor was five cubits wide, the middle floor six cubits, and the third floor seven cubits. He also placed offset ledges around the outside of the temple, so that nothing would be inserted into its walls.

⁷建殿是用山中鑿成的石頭。建殿的時候，鎚子、斧子，和別樣鐵器的響聲都沒有聽見。The temple was constructed using finished stones cut at the quarry, so that no hammer or chisel or any other iron tool was heard in the temple while it was being built.

⁸在殿右邊當中的旁屋有門，門內有旋螺的樓梯，可以上到第二層，從第二層可以上到第三層。The entrance to the bottom floor was on the south side of the temple. A stairway led up to the middle level, and from there to the third floor.

⁹所羅門建殿，安置香柏木的棟樑，又用香柏木板遮蓋。So Solomon built the temple and finished it, roofing it with beams and planks of cedar.

¹⁰靠著殿所造的旁屋，每層高五肘，香柏木的棟樑擱在殿牆坎上。He built chambers all along the temple, each five cubits high and attached to the temple with beams of cedar.

神對所羅門的應許

¹¹耶和華的話臨到所羅門說：Then the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying:

¹²「論到你所建的這殿，你若遵行我的律例，謹守我的典章，遵從我的一切誡命，我必向你應驗我所應許你父親大衛的話。“As for this temple you are building, if you walk in My statutes, carry out My ordinances, and keep all My commandments by walking in them, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father David.

¹³我必住在以色列人中間，並不丟棄我民以色列。」And I will dwell among the Israelites and will not abandon My people Israel.”

殿裡的香柏木和精金

¹⁴所羅門建造殿宇。So Solomon built the temple and finished it.

¹⁵殿裡面用香柏木板貼牆，從地到棚頂都用木板遮蔽，又用松木板鋪地。He lined the interior walls with cedar paneling from the floor of the temple to the ceiling, and he covered the floor with cypress boards.

¹⁶內殿，就是至聖所，長二十肘，從地到棚頂用香柏木板遮蔽（或譯：隔斷）。He partitioned off the twenty cubits at the rear of the temple with cedar boards from floor to ceiling to form within the temple an inner sanctuary, the Most Holy Place.

¹⁷內殿前的外殿，長四十肘。And the main hall in front of this room was forty cubits long.

¹⁸殿裡一點石頭都不顯露，一概用香柏木遮蔽；上面刻著野瓜和初開的花。The cedar paneling inside the temple was carved with gourds and open flowers. Everything was cedar; not a stone could be seen.

¹⁹殿裡預備了內殿，好安放耶和華的約櫃。Solomon also prepared the inner sanctuary within the temple to set the ark of the covenant of the LORD there.

²⁰內殿長二十肘，寬二十肘，高二十肘，牆面都貼上精金；又用香柏木做壇，包上精金。The inner sanctuary was twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high. He overlaid the inside with pure gold, and he also overlaid the altar of cedar.

²¹所羅門用精金貼了殿內的牆，又用金鍊子掛在內殿前門扇，用金包裹。So Solomon overlaid the inside of the temple with pure gold, and he extended gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, which was overlaid with gold.

²²全殿都貼上金子，直到貼完；內殿前的壇，也都用金包裹。So he overlaid with gold the whole interior of the temple, until everything was completely finished. He also overlaid with gold the entire altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary.

兩個基路伯

²³他用橄欖木做兩個基路伯，各高十肘，安在內殿。In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim, each ten cubits high, out of olive wood.

²⁴這一個基路伯有兩個翅膀，各長五肘，從這翅膀尖到那翅膀尖共有十肘；One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long, and the other wing was five cubits long as well. So the full wingspan was ten cubits.

²⁵那一個基路伯的兩個翅膀也是十肘，兩個基路伯的尺寸、形像都是一樣。The second cherub also measured ten cubits; both cherubim had the same size and shape,

²⁶這基路伯高十肘，那基路伯也是如此。and the height of each cherub was ten cubits.

²⁷他將兩個基路伯安在內殿裡；基路伯的翅膀是張開的，這基路伯的一個翅膀挨著這邊的牆，那基路伯的一個翅膀挨著那邊的牆，裡邊的兩個翅膀在殿中間彼此相接；And he placed the cherubim inside the innermost room of the temple. Since their wings were spread out, the wing of the first cherub touched one wall, while the wing of the second cherub touched the other wall, and in the middle of the room their wingtips touched.

²⁸又用金子包裹二基路伯。He also overlaid the cherubim with gold.

²⁹內殿、外殿周圍的牆上都刻著基路伯、棕樹，和初開的花。Then he carved the walls all around the temple, in both the inner and outer sanctuaries, with carved engravings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers.

³⁰內殿、外殿的地板都貼上金子。And he overlaid the temple floor with gold in both the inner and outer sanctuaries.

殿門與內院

³¹又用橄欖木製造內殿的門扇、門楣、門框；門口有牆的五分之一。For the entrance to the inner sanctuary, Solomon constructed doors of olive wood with five-sided doorposts.

³²在橄欖木做的兩門扇上刻著基路伯、棕樹，和初開的花，都貼上金子。The double doors were made of olive wood, and he carved into them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers and overlaid the cherubim and palm trees with hammered gold.

³³又用橄欖木製造外殿的門框，門口有牆的四分之一。In the same way he made four-sided doorposts of olive wood for the sanctuary entrance.

³⁴用松木做門兩扇。這扇分兩扇，是摺疊的；那扇分兩扇，也是摺疊的。The two doors were made of cypress wood, and each had two folding panels.

³⁵上面刻著基路伯、棕樹，和初開的花，都用金子貼了。He carved into them cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold hammered evenly over the carvings.

³⁶他又用鑿成的石頭三層、香柏木一層建築內院。Solomon built the inner courtyard with three rows of dressed stone and one row of trimmed cedar beams.

七年完工

³⁷所羅門在位第四年西弗月，立了耶和華殿的根基。The foundation of the house of the LORD was laid in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign, in the month of Ziv.

³⁸到十一年布勒月，就是八月，殿和一切屬殿的都按著樣式造成。他建殿的工夫共有七年。In the eleventh year, in the month of Bul, the eighth month, the temple was finished in every detail and according to every specification. So he built the temple in seven years.

婦人進城作見證

²⁷當下門徒回來，就希奇耶穌和一個婦人說話；只是沒有人說：「你是要甚麼？」或說：「你為甚麼和她說話？」Just then His disciples returned and were surprised that He was speaking with a woman. But no one asked Him, “What do You want from her?” or “Why are You talking with her?”

²⁸那婦人就留下水罐子，往城裡去，對眾人說：Then the woman left her water jar, went back into the town, and said to the people,

²⁹「你們來看！有一個人將我素來所行的一切事都給我說出來了，莫非這就是基督嗎？」“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”

³⁰眾人就出城，往耶穌那裡去。So they left the town and made their way toward Jesus.

我的食物

³¹這其間，門徒對耶穌說：「拉比，請吃。」Meanwhile the disciples urged Him, “Rabbi, eat something.”

³²耶穌說：「我有食物吃，是你們不知道的。」But He told them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”

³³門徒就彼此對問說：「莫非有人拿甚麼給他吃嗎？」So the disciples asked one another, “Could someone have brought Him food?”

³⁴耶穌說：「我的食物就是遵行差我來者的旨意，做成他的工。Jesus explained, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.

莊稼已經熟了

³⁵你們豈不說『到收割的時候還有四個月』嗎？我告訴你們，舉目向田觀看，莊稼已經熟了（原文是發白），可以收割了。Do you not say, ‘There are still four months until the harvest’? I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest.

³⁶收割的人得工價，積蓄五穀到永生，叫撒種的和收割的一同快樂。Already the reaper draws his wages and gathers a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.

³⁷俗語說：『那人撒種，這人收割』，這話可見是真的。For in this case the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.

³⁸我差你們去收你們所沒有勞苦的；別人勞苦，你們享受他們所勞苦的。」I sent you to reap what you have not worked for; others have done the hard work, and now you have taken up their labor.”

撒馬利亞人信了

³⁹那城裡有好些撒馬利亞人信了耶穌，因為那婦人作見證說：「他將我素來所行的一切事都給我說出來了。」Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”

⁴⁰於是撒馬利亞人來見耶穌，求他在他們那裡住下，他便在那裡住了兩天。So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.

⁴¹因耶穌的話，信的人就更多了，And many more believed because of His message.

⁴²便對婦人說：「現在我們信，不是因為你的話，是我們親自聽見了，知道這真是救世主。」They said to the woman, “We now believe not only because of your words; we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man truly is the Savior of the world.”

回到加利利

⁴³過了那兩天，耶穌離了那地方，往加利利去。After two days, Jesus left for Galilee.

⁴⁴因為耶穌自己作過見證說：「先知在本地是沒有人尊敬的。」Now He Himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own hometown.

⁴⁵到了加利利，加利利人既然看見他在耶路撒冷過節所行的一切事，就接待他，因為他們也是上去過節。Yet when He arrived, the Galileans welcomed Him. They had seen all the great things He had done in Jerusalem at the feast, for they had gone there as well.

醫好大臣的兒子

⁴⁶耶穌又到了加利利的迦拿，就是他從前變水為酒的地方。有一個大臣，他的兒子在迦百農患病。So once again He came to Cana in Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. And there was a royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum.

⁴⁷他聽見耶穌從猶太到了加利利，就來見他，求他下去醫治他的兒子，因為他兒子快要死了。When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Him to come down and heal his son, who was about to die.

⁴⁸耶穌就對他說：「若不看見神蹟奇事，你們總是不信。」Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe.”

⁴⁹那大臣說：「先生，求你趁著我的孩子還沒有死就下去。」“Sir,” the official said, “come down before my child dies.”

⁵⁰耶穌對他說：「回去吧，你的兒子活了！」那人信耶穌所說的話就回去了。“Go,” said Jesus. “Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at His word and departed.

⁵¹正下去的時候，他的僕人迎見他，說他的兒子活了。And while he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive.

⁵²他就問甚麼時候見好的。他們說：「昨日未時熱就退了。」So he inquired as to the hour when his son had recovered, and they told him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.”

⁵³他便知道這正是耶穌對他說「你兒子活了」的時候；他自己和全家就都信了。Then the father realized that this was the very hour in which Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” And he and all his household believed.

⁵⁴這是耶穌在加利利行的第二件神蹟，是他從猶太回去以後行的。This was now the second sign that Jesus performed after coming from Judea into Galilee.
