暗嫩愛上她瑪

¹大衛的兒子押沙龍有一個美貌的妹子，名叫她瑪。大衛的兒子暗嫩愛她。After some time, David’s son Amnon fell in love with Tamar, the beautiful sister of David’s son Absalom.

²暗嫩為他妹子她瑪憂急成病。她瑪還是處女，暗嫩以為難向她行事。Amnon was sick with frustration over his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin, and it seemed implausible for him to do anything to her.

約拿達出主意

³暗嫩有一個朋友，名叫約拿達，是大衛長兄示米亞的兒子。這約拿達為人極其狡猾；Now Amnon had a friend named Jonadab, the son of David’s brother Shimeah. Jonadab was a very shrewd man,

⁴他問暗嫩說：「王的兒子啊，為何一天比一天瘦弱呢？請你告訴我。」暗嫩回答說：「我愛我兄弟押沙龍的妹子她瑪。」and he asked Amnon, “Why are you, the son of the king, so depressed morning after morning? Won’t you tell me?” Amnon replied, “I am in love with Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.”

⁵約拿達說：「你不如躺在床上裝病；你父親來看你，就對他說：『求父叫我妹子她瑪來，在我眼前預備食物，遞給我吃，使我看見，好從她手裡接過來吃。』」Jonadab told him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend you are ill. When your father comes to see you, say to him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me something to eat. Let her prepare it in my sight so I may watch her and eat it from her hand.’”

⁶於是暗嫩躺臥裝病。王來看他，他對王說：「求父叫我妹子她瑪來，在我眼前為我做兩個餅，我好從她手裡接過來吃。」So Amnon lay down and feigned illness. When the king came to see him, Amnon said, “Please let my sister Tamar come and make a couple of cakes in my sight, so that I may eat from her hand.”

⁷大衛就打發人到宮裡，對她瑪說：「你往你哥哥暗嫩的屋裡去，為他預備食物。」Then David sent word to Tamar at the palace: “Please go to the house of Amnon your brother and prepare a meal for him.”

暗嫩玷辱她瑪

⁸她瑪就到她哥哥暗嫩的屋裡；暗嫩正躺臥。她瑪摶麵，在他眼前做餅，且烤熟了，So Tamar went to the house of her brother Amnon, who was lying down. She took some dough, kneaded it, made cakes in his sight, and baked them.

⁹在他面前將餅從鍋裡倒出來，他卻不肯吃，便說：「眾人離開我出去吧！」眾人就都離開他，出去了。Then she brought the pan and set it down before him, but he refused to eat. “Send everyone away!” said Amnon. And everyone went out.

¹⁰暗嫩對她瑪說：「你把食物拿進臥房，我好從你手裡接過來吃。」她瑪就把所做的餅拿進臥房，到她哥哥暗嫩那裡，Then Amnon said to Tamar, “Bring the food into the bedroom, so that I may eat it from your hand.” Tamar took the cakes she had made and went to her brother Amnon’s bedroom.

¹¹拿著餅上前給他吃，他便拉住她瑪，說：「我妹妹，你來與我同寢。」And when she had brought them to him to eat, he took hold of her and said, “Come lie with me, my sister!”

¹²她瑪說：「我哥哥，不要玷辱我。以色列人中不當這樣行，你不要做這醜事；“No, my brother!” she cried. “Do not violate me, for such a thing should never be done in Israel. Do not do this disgraceful thing!

¹³你玷辱了我，我何以掩蓋我的羞恥呢？你在以色列中也成了愚妄人。你可以求王，他必不禁止我歸你。」Where could I ever take my shame? And you would be like one of the fools in Israel! Please speak to the king, for he will not withhold me from you.”

¹⁴但暗嫩不肯聽她的話，因比她力大，就玷辱她，與她同寢。But Amnon refused to listen to her, and being stronger, he violated her and lay with her.

暗嫩恨她瑪，把她趕出去

¹⁵隨後，暗嫩極其恨她，那恨她的心比先前愛她的心更甚，對她說：「你起來，去吧！」Then Amnon hated Tamar with such intensity that his hatred was greater than the love he previously had. “Get up!” he said to her. “Be gone!”

¹⁶她瑪說：「不要這樣！你趕出我去的這罪比你才行的更重！」但暗嫩不肯聽她的話，“No,” she replied, “sending me away is worse than this great wrong you have already done to me!” But he refused to listen to her.

¹⁷就叫伺候自己的僕人來，說：「將這個女子趕出去！她一出去，你就關門，上閂。」Instead, he called to his attendant and said, “Throw this woman out and bolt the door behind her!”

¹⁸那時她瑪穿著彩衣，因為沒有出嫁的公主都是這樣穿。暗嫩的僕人就把她趕出去，關門上閂。So Amnon’s attendant threw her out and bolted the door behind her. Now Tamar was wearing a robe of many colors, because this is what the king’s virgin daughters wore.

她瑪的哀哭

¹⁹她瑪把灰塵撒在頭上，撕裂所穿的彩衣，以手抱頭，一面行走，一面哭喊。And Tamar put ashes on her head and tore her robe. And putting her hand on her head, she went away crying aloud.

²⁰她胞兄押沙龍問她說：「莫非你哥哥暗嫩與你親近了嗎？我妹妹，暫且不要作聲，他是你的哥哥，不要將這事放在心上。」她瑪就孤孤單單地住在她胞兄押沙龍家裡。Her brother Absalom said to her, “Has your brother Amnon been with you? Be quiet for now, my sister. He is your brother. Do not take this thing to heart.” So Tamar lived as a desolate woman in the house of her brother Absalom.

²¹大衛王聽見這事，就甚發怒。When King David heard all this, he was furious.

²²押沙龍並不和他哥哥暗嫩說好說歹；因為暗嫩玷辱他妹妹她瑪，所以押沙龍恨惡他。And Absalom never said a word to Amnon, either good or bad, because he hated Amnon for violating his sister Tamar.

押沙龍設宴殺暗嫩

²³過了二年，在靠近以法蓮的巴力‧夏瑣有人為押沙龍剪羊毛；押沙龍請王的眾子與他同去。Two years later, when Absalom’s sheepshearers were at Baal-hazor near Ephraim, he invited all the sons of the king.

²⁴押沙龍來見王，說：「現在有人為僕人剪羊毛，請王和王的臣僕與僕人同去。」And he went to the king and said, “Your servant has just hired shearers. Will the king and his servants please come with me?”

²⁵王對押沙龍說：「我兒，我們不必都去，恐怕使你耗費太多。」押沙龍再三請王，王仍是不肯去，只為他祝福。“No, my son,” the king replied, “we should not all go, or we would be a burden to you.” Although Absalom urged him, he was not willing to go, but gave him his blessing.

²⁶押沙龍說：「王若不去，求王許我哥哥暗嫩同去。」王說：「何必要他去呢？」“If not,” said Absalom, “please let my brother Amnon go with us.” “Why should he go with you?” the king asked.

²⁷押沙龍再三求王，王就許暗嫩和王的眾子與他同去。But Absalom urged him, so the king sent Amnon and the rest of his sons.

²⁸押沙龍吩咐僕人說：「你們注意，看暗嫩飲酒暢快的時候，我對你們說殺暗嫩，你們便殺他，不要懼怕。這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們只管壯膽奮勇！」Now Absalom had ordered his young men, “Watch Amnon until his heart is merry with wine, and when I order you to strike Amnon down, you are to kill him. Do not be afraid. Have I not commanded you? Be courageous and valiant!”

²⁹押沙龍的僕人就照押沙龍所吩咐的，向暗嫩行了。王的眾子都起來，各人騎上騾子，逃跑了。So Absalom’s young men did to Amnon just as Absalom had ordered. Then all the other sons of the king got up, and each one fled on his mule.

王的眾子都被殺的謠言

³⁰他們還在路上，有風聲傳到大衛那裡，說：「押沙龍將王的眾子都殺了，沒有留下一個。」While they were on the way, a report reached David: “Absalom has struck down all the sons of the king; not one of them is left!”

³¹王就起來，撕裂衣服，躺在地上。王的臣僕也都撕裂衣服，站在旁邊。Then the king stood up, tore his clothes, and lay down on the ground. And all his servants stood by with their clothes torn.

³²大衛的長兄，示米亞的兒子約拿達說：「我主，不要以為王的眾子─少年人都殺了，只有暗嫩一個人死了。自從暗嫩玷辱押沙龍妹子她瑪的那日，押沙龍就定意殺暗嫩了。But Jonadab, the son of David’s brother Shimeah, spoke up: “My lord must not think they have killed all the sons of the king, for only Amnon is dead. In fact, Absalom has planned this since the day Amnon violated his sister Tamar.

³³現在，我主我王，不要把這事放在心上，以為王的眾子都死了，只有暗嫩一個人死了。」So now, my lord the king, do not take to heart the report that all the sons of the king are dead. Only Amnon is dead.”

³⁴押沙龍逃跑了。守望的少年人舉目觀看，見有許多人從山坡的路上來。Meanwhile, Absalom had fled. When the young man standing watch looked up, he saw many people coming down the road west of him, along the side of the hill. And the watchman went and reported to the king, “I see men coming from the direction of Horonaim, along the side of the hill.”

³⁵約拿達對王說：「看哪，王的眾子都來了，果然與你僕人所說的相合。」So Jonadab said to the king, “Look, the sons of the king have arrived! It is just as your servant said.”

³⁶話才說完，王的眾子都到了，放聲大哭；王和臣僕也都哭得甚慟。And as he finished speaking, the sons of the king came in, wailing loudly. Then the king and all his servants also wept very bitterly.

押沙龍逃到基述

³⁷押沙龍逃到基述王亞米忽的兒子達買那裡去了。大衛天天為他兒子悲哀。Now Absalom fled and went to Talmai son of Ammihud, the king of Geshur. But David mourned for his son every day.

³⁸押沙龍逃到基述，在那裡住了三年。After Absalom had fled and gone to Geshur, he stayed there three years.

³⁹暗嫩死了以後，大衛王得了安慰，心裡切切想念押沙龍。And King David longed to go to Absalom, for he had been consoled over Amnon’s death.

約押安排提哥亞婦人

¹洗魯雅的兒子約押，知道王心裡想念押沙龍，Now Joab son of Zeruiah perceived that the king’s heart longed for Absalom.

²就打發人往提哥亞去，從那裡叫了一個聰明的婦人來，對她說：「請你假裝居喪的，穿上孝衣，不要用膏抹身，要裝作為死者許久悲哀的婦人；So Joab sent to Tekoa to bring a wise woman from there. He told her, “Please pretend to be a mourner; put on clothes for mourning and do not anoint yourself with oil. Act like a woman who has mourned for the dead a long time.

³進去見王，對王如此如此說。」於是約押將當說的話教導了婦人。Then go to the king and speak these words to him.” And Joab put the words in her mouth.

婦人用比喻求王

⁴提哥亞婦人到王面前，伏地叩拜，說：「王啊，求你拯救！」When the woman from Tekoa went to the king, she fell facedown in homage and said, “Help me, O king!”

⁵王問她說：「你有甚麼事呢？」回答說：「婢女實在是寡婦，我丈夫死了。“What troubles you?” the king asked her. “Indeed,” she said, “I am a widow, for my husband is dead.

⁶我有兩個兒子，一日在田間爭鬥，沒有人解勸，這個就打死那個。And your maidservant had two sons who were fighting in the field with no one to separate them, and one struck the other and killed him.

⁷現在全家的人都起來攻擊婢女，說：『你將那打死兄弟的交出來，我們好治死他，償他打死兄弟的命，滅絕那承受家業的。』這樣，他們要將我剩下的炭火滅盡，不與我丈夫留名留後在世上。」Now the whole clan has risen up against your maidservant and said, ‘Hand over the one who struck down his brother, that we may put him to death for the life of the brother whom he killed. Then we will cut off the heir as well!’ So they would extinguish my one remaining ember by not preserving my husband’s name or posterity on the earth.”

⁸王對婦人說：「你回家去吧！我必為你下令。」“Go home,” the king said to the woman, “and I will give orders on your behalf.”

⁹提哥亞婦人又對王說：「我主我王，願這罪歸我和我父家，與王和王的位無干。」But the woman of Tekoa said to the king, “My lord the king, may any blame be on me and on my father’s house, and may the king and his throne be guiltless.”

¹⁰王說：「凡難為你的，你就帶他到我這裡來，他必不再攪擾你。」“If anyone speaks to you,” said the king, “bring him to me, and he will not trouble you again!”

¹¹婦人說：「願王記念耶和華─你的　神，不許報血仇的人施行滅絕，恐怕他們滅絕我的兒子。」王說：「我指著永生的耶和華起誓：你的兒子連一根頭髮也不致落在地上。」“Please,” she replied, “may the king invoke the LORD your God to prevent the avenger of blood from increasing the devastation, so that my son may not be destroyed!” “As surely as the LORD lives,” he vowed, “not a hair of your son’s head will fall to the ground.”

王為何不使逃亡的人回來

¹²婦人說：「求我主我王容婢女再說一句話。」王說：「你說吧！」Then the woman said, “Please, may your servant speak a word to my lord the king?” “Speak,” he replied.

¹³婦人說：「王為何也起意要害　神的民呢？王不使那逃亡的人回來，王的這話就是自證己錯了！The woman asked, “Why have you devised a thing like this against the people of God? When the king says this, does he not convict himself, since he has not brought back his own banished son?

¹⁴我們都是必死的，如同水潑在地上，不能收回。　神並不奪取人的性命，乃設法使逃亡的人不致成為趕出、回不來的。For we will surely die and be like water poured out on the ground, which cannot be recovered. Yet God does not take away a life, but He devises ways that the banished one may not be cast out from Him.

¹⁵我來將這話告訴我主我王，是因百姓使我懼怕。婢女想，不如將這話告訴王，或者王成就婢女所求的。Now therefore, I have come to present this matter to my lord the king because the people have made me afraid. Your servant thought, ‘I will speak to the king. Perhaps he will grant the request of his maidservant.

¹⁶人要將我和我兒子從　神的地業上一同除滅，王必應允救我脫離他的手。For the king will hear and deliver his maidservant from the hand of the man who would cut off both me and my son from God’s inheritance.’

¹⁷婢女又想，我主我王的話必安慰我；因為我主我王能辨別是非，如同　神的使者一樣。惟願耶和華─你的　神與你同在！」And now your servant says, ‘May the word of my lord the king bring me rest, for my lord the king is able to discern good and evil, just like the angel of God. May the LORD your God be with you.’”

王識破約押的主意

¹⁸王對婦人說：「我要問你一句話，你一點不要瞞我。」婦人說：「願我主我王說。」Then the king said to the woman, “I am going to ask you something; do not conceal it from me!” “Let my lord the king speak,” she replied.

¹⁹王說：「你這些話莫非是約押的主意嗎？」婦人說：「我敢在我主我王面前起誓：王的話正對，不偏左右，是王的僕人約押吩咐我的，這些話是他教導我的。So the king asked, “Is the hand of Joab behind all this?” The woman answered, “As surely as you live, my lord the king, no one can turn to the right or to the left from anything that my lord the king says. Yes, your servant Joab is the one who gave me orders; he told your maidservant exactly what to say.

²⁰王的僕人約押如此行，為要挽回這事。我主的智慧卻如　神使者的智慧，能知世上一切事。」Joab your servant has done this to bring about this change of affairs, but my lord has wisdom like the wisdom of the angel of God, to know everything that happens in the land.”

²¹王對約押說：「我應允你這事。你可以去，把那少年人押沙龍帶回來。」Then the king said to Joab, “I hereby grant this request. Go, bring back the young man Absalom.”

²²約押就面伏於地叩拜，祝謝於王，又說：「王既應允僕人所求的，僕人今日知道在我主我王眼前蒙恩了。」Joab fell facedown in homage and blessed the king. “Today,” said Joab, “your servant knows that he has found favor in your eyes, my lord the king, because the king has granted his request.”

²³於是約押起身往基述去，將押沙龍帶回耶路撒冷。So Joab got up, went to Geshur, and brought Absalom to Jerusalem.

²⁴王說：「使他回自己家裡去，不要見我的面。」押沙龍就回自己家裡去，沒有見王的面。But the king added, “He may return to his house, but he must not see my face.” So Absalom returned to his own house, but he did not see the face of the king.

押沙龍的俊美

²⁵以色列全地之中，無人像押沙龍那樣俊美，得人的稱讚，從腳底到頭頂毫無瑕疵。Now there was not a man in all Israel as handsome and highly praised as Absalom. From the sole of his foot to the top of his head, he did not have a single flaw.

²⁶他的頭髮甚重，每到年底剪髮一次；所剪下來的，按王的平稱一稱，重二百舍客勒。And when he cut the hair of his head—he shaved it every year because his hair got so heavy—he would weigh it out to be two hundred shekels, according to the royal standard.

²⁷押沙龍生了三個兒子，一個女兒。女兒名叫她瑪，是個容貌俊美的女子。Three sons were born to Absalom, and a daughter named Tamar, who was a beautiful woman.

押沙龍燒田，終於見王

²⁸押沙龍住在耶路撒冷足有二年，沒有見王的面。Now Absalom lived in Jerusalem two years without seeing the face of the king.

²⁹押沙龍打發人去叫約押來，要託他去見王，約押卻不肯來。第二次打發人去叫他，他仍不肯來。Then he sent for Joab to send him to the king, but Joab refused to come to him. So Absalom sent a second time, but Joab still would not come.

³⁰所以押沙龍對僕人說：「你們看，約押有一塊田，與我的田相近，其中有大麥，你們去放火燒了。」押沙龍的僕人就去放火燒了那田。Then Absalom said to his servants, “Look, Joab’s field is next to mine, and he has barley there. Go and set it on fire!” And Absalom’s servants set the field on fire.

³¹於是約押起來，到了押沙龍家裡，問他說：「你的僕人為何放火燒了我的田呢？」Then Joab came to Absalom’s house and demanded, “Why did your servants set my field on fire?”

³²押沙龍回答約押說：「我打發人去請你來，好託你去見王，替我說：『我為何從基述回來呢？不如仍在那裡。』現在要許我見王的面；我若有罪，任憑王殺我就是了。」“Look,” said Absalom, “I sent for you and said, ‘Come here. I want to send you to the king to ask: Why have I come back from Geshur? It would be better for me if I were still there.’ So now, let me see the king’s face, and if there is iniquity in me, let him kill me.”

³³於是約押去見王，將這話奏告王，王便叫押沙龍來。押沙龍來見王，在王面前俯伏於地，王就與押沙龍親嘴。So Joab went and told the king, and David summoned Absalom, who came to him and bowed facedown before him. Then the king kissed Absalom.

耶穌向門徒顯現

³⁶正說這話的時候，耶穌親自站在他們當中，說：「願你們平安！」While they were describing these events, Jesus Himself stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”

³⁷他們卻驚慌害怕，以為所看見的是魂。But they were startled and frightened, thinking they had seen a spirit.

³⁸耶穌說：「你們為甚麼愁煩？為甚麼心裡起疑念呢？“Why are you troubled,” Jesus asked, “and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

³⁹你們看我的手，我的腳，就知道實在是我了。摸我看看！魂無骨無肉，你們看，我是有的。」Look at My hands and My feet. It is I Myself. Touch Me and see—for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”

⁴⁰說了這話，就把手和腳給他們看。And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.

在門徒面前吃魚

⁴¹他們正喜得不敢信，並且希奇；耶穌就說：「你們這裡有甚麼吃的沒有？」While they were still in disbelief because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

⁴²他們便給他一片燒魚。（有古卷加：和一塊蜜房。）So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish,

⁴³他接過來，在他們面前吃了。and He took it and ate it in front of them.

開他們的心竅明白聖經

⁴⁴耶穌對他們說：「這就是我從前與你們同在之時所告訴你們的話說：摩西的律法、先知的書，和詩篇上所記的，凡指著我的話都必須應驗。」Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.”

⁴⁵於是耶穌開他們的心竅，使他們能明白聖經，Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

⁴⁶又對他們說：「照經上所寫的，基督必受害，第三日從死裡復活，And He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

⁴⁷並且人要奉他的名傳悔改、赦罪的道，從耶路撒冷起直傳到萬邦。and in His name repentance and forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.

你們就是這些事的見證

⁴⁸你們就是這些事的見證。You are witnesses of these things.

⁴⁹我要將我父所應許的降在你們身上，你們要在城裡等候，直到你們領受從上頭來的能力。」And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But remain in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

耶穌升天

⁵⁰耶穌領他們到伯大尼的對面，就舉手給他們祝福。When Jesus had led them out as far as Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them.

⁵¹正祝福的時候，他就離開他們，被帶到天上去了。While He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven.

⁵²他們就拜他，大大地歡喜，回耶路撒冷去，And they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

⁵³常在殿裡稱頌　神。praising God continually in the temple.
