大衛四面得勝

¹此後，大衛攻打非利士人，把他們治服，從他們手下奪取了京城的權柄（原文是母城的嚼環）；Some time later, David defeated the Philistines, subdued them, and took Metheg-ammah from the hand of the Philistines.

²又攻打摩押人，使他們躺臥在地上，用繩量一量：量二繩的殺了，量一繩的存留。摩押人就歸服大衛，給他進貢。David also defeated the Moabites, made them lie down on the ground, and measured them off with a cord. He measured off with two lengths those to be put to death, and with one length those to be spared. So the Moabites became subject to David and brought him tribute.

打敗瑣巴王哈大底謝

³瑣巴王利合的兒子哈大底謝往大河去，要奪回他的國權。大衛就攻打他，David also defeated Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, who had marched out to restore his dominion along the Euphrates River.

⁴擒拿了他的馬兵一千七百，步兵二萬，將拉戰車的馬砍斷蹄筋，但留下一百輛車的馬。David captured from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand charioteers, and twenty thousand foot soldiers, and he hamstrung all the horses except a hundred he kept for the chariots.

⁵大馬士革的亞蘭人來幫助瑣巴王哈大底謝，大衛就殺了亞蘭人二萬二千。When the Arameans of Damascus came to help King Hadadezer of Zobah, David struck down twenty-two thousand of their men.

⁶於是大衛在大馬士革的亞蘭地設立防營，亞蘭人就歸服他，給他進貢。大衛無論往哪裡去，耶和華都使他得勝。Then he placed garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to David and brought him tribute. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.

⁷他奪了哈大底謝臣僕所拿的金盾牌，帶到耶路撒冷。And David took the gold shields that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.

⁸大衛王又從屬哈大底謝的比他和比羅他城中奪取了許多的銅。And from Betah and Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a large amount of bronze.

哈馬王送禮

⁹哈馬王陀以聽見大衛殺敗哈大底謝的全軍，When King Toi of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer,

¹⁰就打發他兒子約蘭去見大衛王，問他的安，為他祝福，因為他殺敗了哈大底謝（原來陀以與哈大底謝常常爭戰）。約蘭帶了金銀銅的器皿來，he sent his son Joram to greet King David and bless him for fighting and defeating Hadadezer, who had been at war with Toi. Joram brought with him articles of silver and gold and bronze,

¹¹大衛王將這些器皿和他治服各國所得來的金銀都分別為聖，獻給耶和華，and King David dedicated these to the LORD, along with the silver and gold he had dedicated from all the nations he had subdued—

¹²就是從亞蘭、摩押、亞捫、非利士、亞瑪力人所得來的，以及從瑣巴王利合的兒子哈大底謝所掠之物。from Edom and Moab, from the Ammonites and Philistines and Amalekites, and from the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

以東歸服

¹³大衛在鹽谷擊殺了亞蘭（或譯：以東，見詩篇六十篇詩題）一萬八千人回來，就得了大名；And David made a name for himself when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.

¹⁴又在以東全地設立防營，以東人就都歸服大衛。大衛無論往哪裡去，耶和華都使他得勝。He placed garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites were subject to David. So the LORD made David victorious wherever he went.

大衛的朝廷

¹⁵大衛作以色列眾人的王，又向眾民秉公行義。Thus David reigned over all Israel and administered justice and righteousness for all his people:

¹⁶洗魯雅的兒子約押作元帥；亞希律的兒子約沙法作史官；Joab son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was the recorder;

¹⁷亞希突的兒子撒督和亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒作祭司長；西萊雅作書記；Zadok son of Ahitub and Ahimelech son of Abiathar were priests; Seraiah was the scribe;

¹⁸耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統轄基利提人和比利提人。大衛的眾子都作領袖。Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and Pelethites; and David’s sons were priestly leaders.

大衛尋找掃羅家的人

¹大衛問說：「掃羅家還有剩下的人沒有？我要因約拿單的緣故向他施恩。」Then David asked, “Is there anyone left from the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for the sake of Jonathan?”

²掃羅家有一個僕人，名叫洗巴，有人叫他來見大衛，王問他說：「你是洗巴嗎？」回答說：「僕人是。」And there was a servant of the house of Saul named Ziba. They summoned him to David, and the king inquired, “Are you Ziba?” “I am your servant,” he replied.

³王說：「掃羅家還有人沒有？我要照　神的慈愛恩待他。」洗巴對王說：「還有約拿單的一個兒子，是瘸腿的。」So the king asked, “Is there anyone left of the house of Saul to whom I can show the kindness of God?” Ziba answered, “There is still Jonathan’s son, who is lame in both feet.”

⁴王說：「他在哪裡？」洗巴對王說：「他在羅‧底巴，亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡。」“Where is he?” replied the king. And Ziba said, “Indeed, he is in Lo-debar at the house of Machir son of Ammiel.”

⁵於是大衛王打發人去，從羅‧底巴亞米利的兒子瑪吉家裡召了他來。So King David had him brought from the house of Machir son of Ammiel in Lo-debar.

米非波設與王同席

⁶掃羅的孫子、約拿單的兒子米非波設來見大衛，伏地叩拜。大衛說：「米非波設！」米非波設說：「僕人在此。」And when Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he fell facedown in reverence. Then David said, “Mephibosheth!” “I am your servant,” he replied.

⁷大衛說：「你不要懼怕，我必因你父親約拿單的緣故施恩與你，將你祖父掃羅的一切田地都歸還你；你也可以常與我同席吃飯。」“Do not be afraid,” said David, “for surely I will show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land of your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”

⁸米非波設又叩拜，說：「僕人算甚麼，不過如死狗一般，竟蒙王這樣眷顧！」Mephibosheth bowed down and said, “What is your servant, that you should show regard for a dead dog like me?”

⁹王召了掃羅的僕人洗巴來，對他說：「我已將屬掃羅和他的一切家產都賜給你主人的兒子了。Then the king summoned Saul’s servant Ziba and said to him, “I have given to your master’s grandson all that belonged to Saul and to all his house.

¹⁰你和你的眾子、僕人要為你主人的兒子米非波設耕種田地，把所產的拿來供他食用；他卻要常與我同席吃飯。」洗巴有十五個兒子，二十個僕人。You and your sons and servants are to work the ground for him and bring in the harvest, so that your master’s grandson may have food to eat. But Mephibosheth, your master’s grandson, is always to eat at my table.” Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

¹¹洗巴對王說：「凡我主我王吩咐僕人的，僕人都必遵行。」王又說：「米非波設必與我同席吃飯，如王的兒子一樣。」And Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do all that my lord the king has commanded.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s table like one of the king’s own sons.

¹²米非波設有一個小兒子，名叫米迦。凡住在洗巴家裡的人都作了米非波設的僕人。And Mephibosheth had a young son named Mica, and all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants of Mephibosheth.

¹³於是米非波設住在耶路撒冷，常與王同席吃飯。他兩腿都是瘸的。So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king’s table, and he was lame in both feet.

哈嫩羞辱大衛的使者

¹此後，亞捫人的王死了，他兒子哈嫩接續他作王。Some time later, the king of the Ammonites died and was succeeded by his son Hanun.

²大衛說：「我要照哈嫩的父親拿轄厚待我的恩典厚待哈嫩。」於是大衛差遣臣僕，為他喪父安慰他。大衛的臣僕到了亞捫人的境內。And David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun son of Nahash, just as his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent some of his servants to console Hanun concerning his father. But when they arrived in the land of the Ammonites,

³但亞捫人的首領對他們的主哈嫩說：「大衛差人來安慰你，你想他是尊敬你父親嗎？他差臣僕來不是詳察窺探、要傾覆這城嗎？」the princes of the Ammonites said to Hanun their lord, “Just because David has sent you comforters, do you really believe he is showing respect for your father? Has not David instead sent his servants to explore the city, spy it out, and overthrow it?”

⁴哈嫩便將大衛臣僕的鬍鬚剃去一半，又割斷他們下半截的衣服，使他們露出下體，打發他們回去。So Hanun took David’s servants, shaved off half of each man’s beard, cut off their garments at the hips, and sent them away.

⁵有人告訴大衛，他就差人去迎接他們，（因為他們甚覺羞恥），告訴他們說：「可以住在耶利哥，等到鬍鬚長起再回來。」When this was reported to David, he sent messengers to meet the men, since they had been thoroughly humiliated. The king told them, “Stay in Jericho until your beards have grown back, and then return.”

約押大敗亞捫和亞蘭

⁶亞捫人知道大衛憎惡他們，就打發人去，招募伯‧利合的亞蘭人和瑣巴的亞蘭人，步兵二萬，與瑪迦王的人一千、陀伯人一萬二千。When the Ammonites realized that they had become a stench to David, they hired twenty thousand Aramean foot soldiers from Beth-rehob and Zoba, as well as a thousand men from the king of Maacah and twelve thousand men from Tob.

⁷大衛聽見了，就差派約押統帶勇猛的全軍出去。On hearing this, David sent Joab and the entire army of mighty men.

⁸亞捫人出來，在城門前擺陣；瑣巴與利合的亞蘭人、陀伯人，並瑪迦人，另在郊野擺陣。The Ammonites marched out and arrayed themselves for battle at the entrance of the city gate, while the Arameans of Zobah and Rehob and the men of Tob and Maacah were by themselves in the open country.

⁹約押看見敵人在他前後擺陣，就從以色列軍中挑選精兵，使他們對著亞蘭人擺陣。When Joab saw the battle lines before him and behind him, he selected some of the best men of Israel and arrayed them against the Arameans.

¹⁰其餘的兵交與他兄弟亞比篩，對著亞捫人擺陣。And he placed the rest of the troops under the command of his brother Abishai, who arrayed them against the Ammonites.

¹¹約押對亞比篩說：「亞蘭人若強過我，你就來幫助我；亞捫人若強過你，我就去幫助你。“If the Arameans are too strong for me,” said Joab, “then you will come to my rescue. And if the Ammonites are too strong for you, then I will come to your rescue.

¹²我們都當剛強，為本國的民和　神的城邑作大丈夫。願耶和華憑他的意旨而行！」Be strong and let us fight bravely for our people and for the cities of our God. May the LORD do what is good in His sight.”

¹³於是，約押和跟隨他的人前進攻打亞蘭人；亞蘭人在約押面前逃跑。So Joab and his troops advanced to fight the Arameans, who fled before him.

¹⁴亞捫人見亞蘭人逃跑，他們也在亞比篩面前逃跑進城。約押就離開亞捫人那裡，回耶路撒冷去了。When the Ammonites saw that the Arameans had fled, they too fled before Abishai, and they entered the city. So Joab returned from fighting against the Ammonites and came to Jerusalem.

亞蘭人再敗

¹⁵亞蘭人見自己被以色列人打敗，就又聚集。When the Arameans saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they regrouped.

¹⁶哈大底謝差遣人，將大河那邊的亞蘭人調來；他們到了希蘭，哈大底謝的將軍朔法率領他們。Hadadezer sent messengers to bring more Arameans from beyond the Euphrates, and they came to Helam with Shobach the commander of Hadadezer’s army leading them.

¹⁷有人告訴大衛，他就聚集以色列眾人，過約旦河，來到希蘭。亞蘭人迎著大衛擺陣，與他打仗。When this was reported to David, he gathered all Israel, crossed the Jordan, and went to Helam. Then the Arameans arrayed themselves against David and fought against him.

¹⁸亞蘭人在以色列人面前逃跑；大衛殺了亞蘭七百輛戰車的人，四萬馬兵，又殺了亞蘭的將軍朔法。But the Arameans fled before Israel, and David killed seven hundred charioteers and forty thousand foot soldiers. He also struck down Shobach the commander of their army, who died there.

¹⁹屬哈大底謝的諸王見自己被以色列人打敗，就與以色列人和好，歸服他們。於是亞蘭人不敢再幫助亞捫人了。When all the kings who were subject to Hadadezer saw that they had been defeated by Israel, they made peace with Israel and became subject to them. So the Arameans were afraid to help the Ammonites anymore.

婦女清早到墳墓

¹七日的頭一日，黎明的時候，那些婦女帶著所預備的香料來到墳墓前，On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared.

²看見石頭已經從墳墓滾開了，They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,

³她們就進去，只是不見主耶穌的身體。but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

為甚麼在死人中找活人

⁴正在猜疑之間，忽然有兩個人站在旁邊，衣服放光。While they were puzzling over this, suddenly two men in radiant apparel stood beside them.

⁵婦女們驚怕，將臉伏地。那兩個人就對她們說：「為甚麼在死人中找活人呢？As the women bowed their faces to the ground in terror, the two men asked them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

⁶他不在這裡，已經復活了。當記念他還在加利利的時候怎樣告訴你們，He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee:

⁷說：『人子必須被交在罪人手裡，釘在十字架上，第三日復活。』」‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.’”

婦女回去報信

⁸她們就想起耶穌的話來，Then they remembered His words.

⁹便從墳墓那裡回去，把這一切的事告訴十一個使徒和其餘的人。And when they returned from the tomb, they reported all these things to the Eleven and to all the others.

¹⁰那告訴使徒的就是抹大拉的馬利亞和約亞拿，並雅各的母親馬利亞，還有與她們在一處的婦女。It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.

使徒以為是胡言

¹¹她們這些話，使徒以為是胡言，就不相信。But their words seemed like nonsense to them, and they did not believe the women.

彼得跑到墳墓前

¹²彼得起來，跑到墳墓前，低頭往裡看，見細麻布獨在一處，就回去了，心裡希奇所成的事。Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. And after bending down and seeing only the linen cloths, he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.
