以色列敗給非利士人

¹以色列人出去與非利士人打仗，安營在以便以謝；非利士人安營在亞弗。Thus the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now the Israelites went out to meet the Philistines in battle and camped at Ebenezer, while the Philistines camped at Aphek.

²非利士人向以色列人擺陣。兩軍交戰的時候，以色列人敗在非利士人面前；非利士人在戰場上殺了他們的軍兵約有四千人。The Philistines arrayed themselves against Israel, and as the battle spread, Israel was defeated by the Philistines, who struck down about four thousand men on the battlefield.

把約櫃抬到營中

³百姓回到營裡，以色列的長老說：「耶和華今日為何使我們敗在非利士人面前呢？我們不如將耶和華的約櫃從示羅抬到我們這裡來，好在我們中間救我們脫離敵人的手。」When the troops returned to the camp, the elders of Israel asked, “Why has the LORD brought defeat on us before the Philistines today? Let us bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD from Shiloh, so that it may go with us to save us from the hand of our enemies.”

⁴於是百姓打發人到示羅，從那裡將坐在二基路伯上萬軍之耶和華的約櫃抬來。以利的兩個兒子何弗尼、非尼哈與　神的約櫃同來。So the people sent men to Shiloh, and they brought back the ark of the covenant of the LORD of Hosts, who sits enthroned between the cherubim. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

⁵耶和華的約櫃到了營中，以色列眾人就大聲歡呼，地便震動。When the ark of the covenant of the LORD entered the camp, all the Israelites raised such a great shout that the ground shook.

⁶非利士人聽見歡呼的聲音，就說：「在希伯來人營裡大聲歡呼，是甚麼緣故呢？」隨後就知道耶和華的約櫃到了營中。On hearing the noise of the shout, the Philistines asked, “What is this loud shouting in the camp of the Hebrews?” And when they realized that the ark of the LORD had entered the camp,

⁷非利士人就懼怕起來，說：「有神到了他們營中」；又說：「我們有禍了！向來不曾有這樣的事。the Philistines were afraid. “The gods have entered their camp!” they said. “Woe to us, for nothing like this has happened before.

⁸我們有禍了！誰能救我們脫離這些大能之神的手呢？從前在曠野用各樣災殃擊打埃及人的，就是這些神。Woe to us! Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all kinds of plagues in the wilderness.

⁹非利士人哪，你們要剛強，要作大丈夫，免得作希伯來人的奴僕，如同他們作你們的奴僕一樣。你們要作大丈夫，與他們爭戰。」Take courage and be men, O Philistines! Otherwise, you will serve the Hebrews just as they served you. Now be men and fight!”

約櫃被擄

¹⁰非利士人和以色列人打仗，以色列人敗了，各向各家奔逃，被殺的人甚多，以色列的步兵仆倒了三萬。So the Philistines fought, and Israel was defeated, and each man fled to his tent. The slaughter was very great—thirty thousand foot soldiers of Israel fell.

¹¹神的約櫃被擄去，以利的兩個兒子何弗尼、非尼哈也都被殺了。The ark of God was captured, and Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

以利聽到消息跌死

¹²當日，有一個便雅憫人從陣上逃跑，衣服撕裂，頭蒙灰塵，來到示羅。That same day a Benjamite ran from the battle line all the way to Shiloh, with his clothes torn and dirt on his head.

¹³到了的時候，以利正在道旁坐在自己的位上觀望，為　神的約櫃心裡擔憂。那人進城報信，合城的人就都呼喊起來。When he arrived, there was Eli, sitting on his chair beside the road and watching, because his heart trembled for the ark of God. When the man entered the city to give a report, the whole city cried out.

¹⁴以利聽見呼喊的聲音就問說：「這喧嚷是甚麼緣故呢？」那人急忙來報信給以利。Eli heard the outcry and asked, “Why this commotion?” So the man hurried over and reported to Eli.

¹⁵那時以利九十八歲了，眼目發直，不能看見。Now Eli was ninety-eight years old, and his gaze was fixed because he could not see.

¹⁶那人對以利說：「我是從陣上來的，今日我從陣上逃回。」以利說：「我兒，事情怎樣？」“I have just come from the battle,” the man said to Eli. “I fled from there today.” “What happened, my son?” Eli asked.

¹⁷報信的回答說：「以色列人在非利士人面前逃跑，民中被殺的甚多！你的兩個兒子何弗尼、非尼哈也都死了，並且　神的約櫃被擄去。」The messenger answered, “Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there has been a great slaughter among the people. Your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, are both dead, and the ark of God has been captured.”

¹⁸他一提　神的約櫃，以利就從他的位上往後跌倒，在門旁折斷頸項而死；因為他年紀老邁，身體沉重。以利作以色列的士師四十年。As soon as the ark of God was mentioned, Eli fell backward from his chair by the city gate, and being old and heavy, he broke his neck and died. And Eli had judged Israel forty years.

以迦博：榮耀離開以色列

¹⁹以利的兒婦、非尼哈的妻懷孕將到產期，她聽見　神的約櫃被擄去，公公和丈夫都死了，就猛然疼痛，曲身生產；Now Eli’s daughter-in-law, the wife of Phinehas, was pregnant and about to give birth. When she heard the news of the capture of God’s ark and the deaths of her father-in-law and her husband, she collapsed and gave birth, for her labor pains overtook her.

²⁰將要死的時候，旁邊站著的婦人們對她說：「不要怕！你生了男孩子了。」她卻不回答，也不放在心上。As she was dying, the women attending to her said, “Do not be afraid, for you have given birth to a son!” But she did not respond or pay any heed.

²¹她給孩子起名叫以迦博，說：「榮耀離開以色列了！」這是因　神的約櫃被擄去，又因她公公和丈夫都死了。And she named the boy Ichabod, saying, “The glory has departed from Israel,” because the ark of God had been captured and her father-in-law and her husband had been killed.

²²她又說：「榮耀離開以色列，因為　神的約櫃被擄去了。」“The glory has departed from Israel,” she said, “for the ark of God has been captured.”

大袞仆倒在約櫃前

¹非利士人將　神的約櫃從以便以謝抬到亞實突。After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod,

²非利士人將　神的約櫃抬進大袞廟，放在大袞的旁邊。carried it into the temple of Dagon, and set it beside his statue.

³次日清早，亞實突人起來，見大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，就把大袞仍立在原處。When the people of Ashdod got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on his face before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and returned him to his place.

⁴又次日清早起來，見大袞仆倒在耶和華的約櫃前，臉伏於地，並且大袞的頭和兩手都在門檻上折斷，只剩下大袞的殘體。But when they got up early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on his face before the ark of the LORD, with his head and his hands broken off and lying on the threshold. Only the torso remained.

⁵（因此，大袞的祭司和一切進亞實突、大袞廟的人都不踏大袞廟的門檻，直到今日。）That is why, to this day, the priests of Dagon and all who enter the temple of Dagon in Ashdod do not step on the threshold.

約櫃在非利士各城引發災禍

⁶耶和華的手重重加在亞實突人身上，敗壞他們，使他們生痔瘡。亞實突和亞實突的四境都是如此。Now the hand of the LORD was heavy on the people of Ashdod and its vicinity, ravaging them and afflicting them with tumors.

⁷亞實突人見這光景，就說：「以色列　神的約櫃不可留在我們這裡，因為他的手重重加在我們和我們神大袞的身上」；And when the men of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel must not stay here with us, because His hand is heavy upon us and upon our god Dagon.”

⁸就打發人去請非利士的眾首領來聚集，問他們說：「我們向以色列　神的約櫃應當怎樣行呢？」他們回答說：「可以將以色列　神的約櫃運到迦特去。」於是將以色列　神的約櫃運到那裡去。So they called together all the rulers of the Philistines and asked, “What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?” “It must be moved to Gath,” they replied. So they carried away the ark of the God of Israel.

⁹運到之後，耶和華的手攻擊那城，使那城的人大大驚慌，無論大小都生痔瘡。But after they had moved the ark to Gath, the LORD’s hand was also against that city, throwing it into great confusion and afflicting the men of the city, both young and old, with an outbreak of tumors.

¹⁰他們就把　神的約櫃送到以革倫。　神的約櫃到了，以革倫人就喊嚷起來說：「他們將以色列　神的約櫃運到我們這裡，要害我們和我們的眾民！」So they sent the ark of God to Ekron, but as it arrived, the Ekronites cried out, “They have brought us the ark of the God of Israel in order to kill us and our people!”

¹¹於是打發人去請非利士的眾首領來，說：「願你們將以色列　神的約櫃送回原處，免得害了我們和我們的眾民！」原來　神的手重重攻擊那城，城中的人有因驚慌而死的；Then the Ekronites called together all the rulers of the Philistines and said, “Send away the ark of the God of Israel. It must return to its place, so that it will not kill us and our people!” For a deadly confusion had pervaded the city; the hand of God was very heavy upon it.

¹²未曾死的人都生了痔瘡。合城呼號，聲音上達於天。Those who did not die were afflicted with tumors, and the outcry of the city went up to heaven.

非利士人決定送回約櫃

¹耶和華的約櫃在非利士人之地七個月。When the ark of the LORD had been in the land of the Philistines seven months,

²非利士人將祭司和占卜的聚了來，問他們說：「我們向耶和華的約櫃應當怎樣行？請指示我們用何法將約櫃送回原處。」the Philistines summoned the priests and diviners, saying, “What shall we do with the ark of the LORD? Tell us how to send it back to its place.”

³他們說：「若要將以色列　神的約櫃送回去，不可空空地送去，必要給他獻賠罪的禮物，然後你們可得痊癒，並知道他的手為何不離開你們。」They replied, “If you return the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it away empty, but by all means return it to Him with a guilt offering. Then you will be healed, and you will understand why His hand has not been lifted from you.”

⁴非利士人說：「應當用甚麼獻為賠罪的禮物呢？」他們回答說：「當照非利士首領的數目，用五個金痔瘡，五個金老鼠，因為在你們眾人和你們首領的身上都是一樣的災。“What guilt offering should we send back to Him?” asked the Philistines. “Five gold tumors and five gold rats,” they said, “according to the number of rulers of the Philistines, since the same plague has struck both you and your rulers.

⁵所以當製造你們痔瘡的像和毀壞你們田地老鼠的像，並要歸榮耀給以色列的　神，或者他向你們和你們的神，並你們的田地，把手放輕些。Make images of your tumors and of the rats that are ravaging the land. Give glory to the God of Israel, and perhaps He will lift His hand from you and your gods and your land.

⁶你們為何硬著心像埃及人和法老一樣呢？　神在埃及人中間行奇事，埃及人豈不釋放以色列人，他們就去了嗎？Why harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened theirs? When He afflicted them, did they not send the people out so they could go on their way?

⁷現在你們應當造一輛新車，將兩隻未曾負軛有乳的母牛套在車上，使牛犢回家去，離開母牛。Now, therefore, prepare one new cart with two milk cows that have never been yoked. Hitch the cows to the cart, but take their calves away and pen them up.

⁸把耶和華的約櫃放在車上，將所獻賠罪的金物裝在匣子裡，放在櫃旁，將櫃送去。Take the ark of the LORD, set it on the cart, and in a chest beside it put the gold objects you are sending back to Him as a guilt offering. Then send the ark on its way,

⁹你們要看看：車若直行以色列的境界到伯．示麥去，這大災就是耶和華降在我們身上的；若不然，便可以知道不是他的手擊打我們，是我們偶然遇見的。」but keep watching it. If it goes up the road to its homeland, toward Beth-shemesh, it is the LORD who has brought on us this great disaster. But if it does not, then we will know that it was not His hand that punished us and that it happened by chance.”

母牛直行伯．示麥

¹⁰非利士人就這樣行：將兩隻有乳的母牛套在車上，將牛犢關在家裡，So the men did as instructed. They took two milk cows, hitched them to the cart, and penned up their calves.

¹¹把耶和華的約櫃和裝金老鼠並金痔瘡像的匣子都放在車上。Then they put the ark of the LORD on the cart, along with the chest containing the gold rats and the images of the tumors.

¹²牛直行大道，往伯．示麥去，一面走一面叫，不偏左右。非利士的首領跟在後面，直到伯．示麥的境界。And the cows headed straight up the road toward Beth-shemesh, staying on that one highway and lowing as they went, never straying to the right or to the left. The rulers of the Philistines followed behind them to the border of Beth-shemesh.

¹³伯．示麥人正在平原收割麥子，舉目看見約櫃，就歡喜了。Now the people of Beth-shemesh were harvesting wheat in the valley, and when they looked up and saw the ark, they were overjoyed at the sight.

¹⁴車到了伯．示麥人約書亞的田間，就站住了。在那裡有一塊大磐石，他們把車劈了，將兩隻母牛獻給耶和華為燔祭。The cart came to the field of Joshua of Beth-shemesh and stopped there near a large rock. The people chopped up the cart and offered the cows as a burnt offering to the LORD.

¹⁵利未人將耶和華的約櫃和裝金物的匣子拿下來，放在大磐石上。當日伯．示麥人將燔祭和平安祭獻給耶和華。And the Levites took down the ark of the LORD and the chest containing the gold objects, and they placed them on the large rock. That day the men of Beth-shemesh offered burnt offerings and made sacrifices to the LORD.

¹⁶非利士人的五個首領看見，當日就回以革倫去了。And when the five rulers of the Philistines saw this, they returned to Ekron that same day.

¹⁷非利士人獻給耶和華作賠罪的金痔瘡像，就是這些：一個是為亞實突，一個是為迦薩，一個是為亞實基倫，一個是為迦特，一個是為以革倫。As a guilt offering to the LORD, the Philistines had sent back one gold tumor for each city: Ashdod, Gaza, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron.

¹⁸金老鼠的數目是照非利士五個首領的城邑，就是堅固的城邑和鄉村，以及大磐石。這磐石是放耶和華約櫃的，到今日還在伯．示麥人約書亞的田間。The number of gold rats also corresponded to the number of Philistine cities belonging to the five rulers—the fortified cities and their outlying villages. And the large rock on which they placed the ark of the LORD stands to this day in the field of Joshua of Beth-shemesh.

伯．示麥人擅觀約櫃

¹⁹耶和華因伯．示麥人擅觀他的約櫃，就擊殺了他們七十人；那時有五萬人在那裡（原文是七十人加五萬人）。百姓因耶和華大大擊殺他們，就哀哭了。But God struck down some of the people of Beth-shemesh because they looked inside the ark of the LORD. He struck down seventy men, and the people mourned because the LORD had struck them with a great slaughter.

²⁰伯．示麥人說：「誰能在耶和華這聖潔的　神面前侍立呢？這約櫃可以從我們這裡送到誰那裡去呢？」The men of Beth-shemesh asked, “Who can stand in the presence of the LORD, this holy God? To whom should the ark go up from here?”

²¹於是打發人去見基列．耶琳的居民，說：「非利士人將耶和華的約櫃送回來了，你們下來將約櫃接到你們那裡去吧！」So they sent messengers to the people of Kiriath-jearim, saying, “The Philistines have returned the ark of the LORD. Come down and take it up with you.”

¹基列．耶琳人就下來，將耶和華的約櫃接上去，放在山上亞比拿達的家中，分派他兒子以利亞撒看守耶和華的約櫃。Then the men of Kiriath-jearim came for the ark of the LORD and took it into Abinadab’s house on the hill. And they consecrated his son Eleazar to guard the ark of the LORD.

²約櫃在基列．耶琳許久。過了二十年，以色列全家都傾向耶和華。And from that day a long time passed, twenty years in all, as the ark remained at Kiriath-jearim. And all the house of Israel mournfully sought the LORD.

撒母耳呼召百姓歸向耶和華

³撒母耳對以色列全家說：「你們若一心歸順耶和華，就要把外邦的神和亞斯她錄從你們中間除掉，專心歸向耶和華，單單地事奉他。他必救你們脫離非利士人的手。」Then Samuel said to all the house of Israel, “If you are returning to the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and Ashtoreths among you, prepare your hearts for the LORD, and serve Him only. And He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

⁴以色列人就除掉諸巴力和亞斯她錄，單單地事奉耶和華。So the Israelites put away the Baals and Ashtoreths and served only the LORD.

⁵撒母耳說：「要使以色列眾人聚集在米斯巴，我好為你們禱告耶和華。」Then Samuel said, “Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the LORD on your behalf.”

⁶他們就聚集在米斯巴，打水澆在耶和華面前，當日禁食，說：「我們得罪了耶和華。」於是撒母耳在米斯巴審判以色列人。When they had gathered at Mizpah, they drew water and poured it out before the LORD. On that day they fasted, and there they confessed, “We have sinned against the LORD.” And Samuel judged the Israelites at Mizpah.

耶和華大發雷聲

⁷非利士人聽見以色列人聚集在米斯巴，非利士的首領就上來要攻擊以色列人。以色列人聽見，就懼怕非利士人。When the Philistines heard that the Israelites had gathered at Mizpah, their rulers marched up toward Israel. And when the Israelites learned of this, they feared the Philistines

⁸以色列人對撒母耳說：「願你不住地為我們呼求耶和華─我們的　神，救我們脫離非利士人的手。」and said to Samuel, “Do not stop crying out to the LORD our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the Philistines.”

⁹撒母耳就把一隻吃奶的羊羔獻與耶和華作全牲的燔祭，為以色列人呼求耶和華；耶和華就應允他。Then Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the LORD. He cried out to the LORD on behalf of Israel, and the LORD answered him.

¹⁰撒母耳正獻燔祭的時候，非利士人前來要與以色列人爭戰。當日，耶和華大發雷聲，驚亂非利士人，他們就敗在以色列人面前。As the Philistines drew near to fight against Israel, Samuel was offering up the burnt offering. But that day the LORD thundered loudly against the Philistines and threw them into such confusion that they fled before Israel.

¹¹以色列人從米斯巴出來，追趕非利士人，擊殺他們，直到伯．甲的下邊。Then the men of Israel charged out of Mizpah and pursued the Philistines, striking them down all the way to an area below Beth-car.

以便以謝

¹²撒母耳將一塊石頭立在米斯巴和善的中間，給石頭起名叫以便以謝，說：「到如今耶和華都幫助我們。」Afterward, Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”

¹³從此，非利士人就被制伏，不敢再入以色列人的境內。撒母耳作士師的時候，耶和華的手攻擊非利士人。So the Philistines were subdued, and they stopped invading the territory of Israel. And the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

¹⁴非利士人所取以色列人的城邑，從以革倫直到迦特，都歸以色列人了。屬這些城的四境，以色列人也從非利士人手下收回。那時以色列人與亞摩利人和好。The cities from Ekron to Gath, which the Philistines had taken, were restored to Israel, who also delivered the surrounding territory from the hand of the Philistines. And there was peace between the Israelites and the Amorites.

撒母耳作士師的年日

¹⁵撒母耳平生作以色列的士師。So Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

¹⁶他每年巡行到伯特利、吉甲、米斯巴，在這幾處審判以色列人。Every year he would go on a circuit from Bethel to Gilgal to Mizpah, judging Israel in all these places.

¹⁷隨後回到拉瑪，因為他的家在那裡；也在那裡審判以色列人，且為耶和華築了一座壇。Then he would return to Ramah because his home was there, and there he judged Israel and built an altar to the LORD.

寡婦和不義的官

¹耶穌設一個比喻，是要人常常禱告，不可灰心。Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray at all times and not lose heart:

²說：「某城裡有一個官，不懼怕　神，也不尊重世人。“In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected men.

³那城裡有個寡婦，常到他那裡，說：『我有一個對頭，求你給我伸冤。』And there was a widow in that town who kept appealing to him, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’

⁴他多日不准，後來心裡說：『我雖不懼怕　神，也不尊重世人，For a while he refused, but later he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect men,

⁵只因這寡婦煩擾我，我就給她伸冤吧，免得她常來纏磨我！』」yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice. Otherwise, she will wear me out with her perpetual requests.’”

神豈不給選民伸冤

⁶主說：「你們聽這不義之官所說的話。And the Lord said, “Listen to the words of the unjust judge.

⁷神的選民晝夜呼籲他，他縱然為他們忍了多時，豈不終久給他們伸冤嗎？Will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry out to Him day and night? Will He delay in helping them?

⁸我告訴你們，要快快地給他們伸冤了。然而，人子來的時候，遇得見世上有信德嗎？」I tell you, He will promptly carry out justice on their behalf. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?”

法利賽人和稅吏的禱告

⁹耶穌向那些仗著自己是義人，藐視別人的，設一個比喻，To some who trusted in their own righteousness and viewed others with contempt, He also told this parable:

¹⁰說：「有兩個人上殿裡去禱告：一個是法利賽人，一個是稅吏。“Two men went up to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

¹¹法利賽人站著，自言自語地禱告說：『　神啊，我感謝你，我不像別人勒索、不義、姦淫，也不像這個稅吏。The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—swindlers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.

¹²我一個禮拜禁食兩次，凡我所得的都捐上十分之一。』I fast twice a week and pay tithes of all that I acquire.’

¹³那稅吏遠遠地站著，連舉目望天也不敢，只捶著胸說：『　神啊，開恩可憐我這個罪人！』But the tax collector stood at a distance, unwilling even to lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’

¹⁴我告訴你們，這人回家去比那人倒算為義了；因為，凡自高的，必降為卑；自卑的，必升為高。」I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

讓小孩子到我這裡來

¹⁵有人抱著自己的嬰孩來見耶穌，要他摸他們；門徒看見就責備那些人。Now people were even bringing their babies to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them. And when the disciples saw this, they rebuked those who brought them.

¹⁶耶穌卻叫他們來，說：「讓小孩子到我這裡來，不要禁止他們，因為在　神國的正是這樣的人。But Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

¹⁷我實在告訴你們，凡要承受　神國的，若不像小孩子，斷不能進去。」Truly I tell you, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

富有的官

¹⁸有一個官問耶穌說：「良善的夫子，我該做甚麼事才可以承受永生？」Then a certain ruler asked Him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

¹⁹耶穌對他說：「你為甚麼稱我是良善的？除了　神一位之外，再沒有良善的。“Why do you call Me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good except God alone.

²⁰誡命你是曉得的：『不可姦淫；不可殺人；不可偷盜；不可作假見證；當孝敬父母。』」You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, honor your father and mother.’”

²¹那人說：「這一切我從小都遵守了。」“All these I have kept from my youth,” he said.

²²耶穌聽見了，就說：「你還缺少一件：要變賣你一切所有的，分給窮人，就必有財寶在天上；你還要來跟從我。」On hearing this, Jesus told him, “You still lack one thing: Sell everything you own and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.”

駱駝穿過針的眼

²⁴耶穌看見他，就說：「有錢財的人進　神的國是何等的難哪！Seeing the man’s sadness, Jesus said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

²⁵駱駝穿過針的眼比財主進　神的國還容易呢！」Indeed, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

²⁶聽見的人說：「這樣，誰能得救呢？」Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”

²⁷耶穌說：「在人所不能的事，在　神卻能。」But Jesus said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

為神的國撇下一切的人

²⁸彼得說：「看哪，我們已經撇下自己所有的跟從你了。」“Look,” said Peter, “we have left all we had to follow You.”

²⁹耶穌說：「我實在告訴你們，人為　神的國撇下房屋，或是妻子、弟兄、父母、兒女，“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God

³⁰沒有在今世不得百倍，在來世不得永生的。」will fail to receive many times more in this age—and in the age to come, eternal life.”
