打敗亞摩利王西宏

²¹以色列人差遣使者去見亞摩利人的王西宏，說：Then Israel sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,

²²「求你容我們從你的地經過；我們不偏入田間和葡萄園，也不喝井裡的水，只走大道（原文是王道），直到過了你的境界。」“Let us pass through your land. We will not turn aside into any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will stay on the King’s Highway until we have passed through your territory.”

²³西宏不容以色列人從他的境界經過，就招聚他的眾民出到曠野，要攻擊以色列人，到了雅雜與以色列人爭戰。But Sihon would not let Israel pass through his territory. Instead, he gathered his whole army and went out to confront Israel in the wilderness. When he came to Jahaz, he fought against Israel.

²⁴以色列人用刀殺了他，得了他的地，從亞嫩河到雅博河，直到亞捫人的境界，因為亞捫人的境界多有堅壘。And Israel put him to the sword and took possession of his land, from the Arnon to the Jabbok—but only up to the border of the Ammonites, because it was fortified.

²⁵以色列人奪取這一切的城邑，也住亞摩利人的城邑，就是希實本與希實本的一切鄉村。Israel captured all the cities of the Amorites and occupied them, including Heshbon and all its villages.

²⁶這希實本是亞摩利王西宏的京城；西宏曾與摩押的先王爭戰，從他手中奪取了全地，直到亞嫩河。Heshbon was the city of Sihon king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab and taken all his land as far as the Arnon.

希實本之歌

²⁷所以那些作詩歌的說：你們來到希實本；願西宏的城被修造，被建立。That is why the poets say: “Come to Heshbon, let it be rebuilt; let the city of Sihon be restored.

²⁸因為有火從希實本發出，有火焰出於西宏的城，燒盡摩押的亞珥和亞嫩河邱壇的祭司（祭司原文是主）。For a fire went out from Heshbon, a blaze from the city of Sihon. It consumed Ar of Moab, the rulers of Arnon’s heights.

²⁹摩押啊，你有禍了！基抹的民哪，你們滅亡了！基抹的男子逃奔，女子被擄，交付亞摩利的王西宏。Woe to you, O Moab! You are destroyed, O people of Chemosh! He gave up his sons as refugees, and his daughters into captivity to Sihon king of the Amorites.

³¹這樣，以色列人就住在亞摩利人之地。So Israel lived in the land of the Amorites.

³²摩西打發人去窺探雅謝，以色列人就佔了雅謝的鎮市，趕出那裡的亞摩利人。After Moses had sent spies to Jazer, Israel captured its villages and drove out the Amorites who were there.

打敗巴珊王噩

³³以色列人轉回，向巴珊去。巴珊王噩和他的眾民都出來，在以得來與他們交戰。Then they turned and went up the road to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan and his whole army came out to meet them in battle at Edrei.

³⁴耶和華對摩西說：「不要怕他！因我已將他和他的眾民，並他的地，都交在你手中；你要待他像從前待住希實本的亞摩利王西宏一般。」But the LORD said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, along with all his people and his land. Do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon.”

³⁵於是他們殺了他和他的眾子，並他的眾民，沒有留下一個，就得了他的地。So they struck down Og, along with his sons and his whole army, until no remnant was left. And they took possession of his land.

安營摩押平原，巴勒懼怕

¹以色列人起行，在摩押平原、約旦河東，對著耶利哥安營。Then the Israelites traveled on and camped in the plains of Moab near the Jordan, across from Jericho.

²以色列人向亞摩利人所行的一切事，西撥的兒子巴勒都看見了。Now Balak son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites,

³摩押人因以色列民甚多，就大大懼怕，心內憂急，and Moab was terrified of the people because they were numerous. Indeed, Moab dreaded the Israelites.

⁴對米甸的長老說：「現在這眾人要把我們四圍所有的一概餂盡，就如牛餂盡田間的草一般。」那時西撥的兒子巴勒作摩押王。So the Moabites said to the elders of Midian, “This horde will devour everything around us, as an ox licks up the grass of the field.” Since Balak son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time,

巴勒差人去請巴蘭

⁵他差遣使者往大河邊的毘奪去，到比珥的兒子巴蘭本鄉那裡，召巴蘭來，說：「有一宗民從埃及出來，遮滿地面，與我對居。he sent messengers to summon Balaam son of Beor at Pethor, which is by the Euphrates in the land of his people. “Behold, a people has come out of Egypt,” said Balak. “They cover the face of the land and have settled next to me.

⁶這民比我強盛，現在求你來為我咒詛他們，或者我能得勝，攻打他們，趕出此地。因為我知道，你為誰祝福，誰就得福；你咒詛誰，誰就受咒詛。」So please come now and put a curse on this people, because they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I may be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land; for I know that those you bless are blessed, and those you curse are cursed.”

⁷摩押的長老和米甸的長老手裡拿著卦金，到了巴蘭那裡，將巴勒的話都告訴了他。The elders of Moab and Midian departed with the fees for divination in hand. They came to Balaam and relayed to him the words of Balak.

⁸巴蘭說：「你們今夜在這裡住宿，我必照耶和華所曉諭我的回報你們。」摩押的使臣就在巴蘭那裡住下了。“Spend the night here,” Balaam replied, “and I will give you the answer that the LORD speaks to me.” So the princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.

⁹神臨到巴蘭那裡，說：「在你這裡的人都是誰？」Then God came to Balaam and asked, “Who are these men with you?”

¹⁰巴蘭回答說：「是摩押王西撥的兒子巴勒打發人到我這裡來，說：And Balaam said to God, “Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, sent me this message:

¹¹『從埃及出來的民遮滿地面，你來為我咒詛他們，或者我能與他們爭戰，把他們趕出去。』」‘Behold, a people has come out of Egypt, and they cover the face of the land. Now come and put a curse on them for me. Perhaps I may be able to fight against them and drive them away.’”

¹²神對巴蘭說：「你不可同他們去，也不可咒詛那民，因為那民是蒙福的。」But God said to Balaam, “Do not go with them. You are not to curse this people, for they are blessed.”

¹³巴蘭早晨起來，對巴勒的使臣說：「你們回本地去吧，因為耶和華不容我和你們同去。」So Balaam got up the next morning and said to Balak’s princes, “Go back to your homeland, because the LORD has refused to let me go with you.”

¹⁴摩押的使臣就起來，回巴勒那裡去，說：「巴蘭不肯和我們同來。」And the princes of Moab arose, returned to Balak, and said, “Balaam refused to come with us.”

巴勒再派更尊貴的使臣

¹⁵巴勒又差遣使臣，比先前的又多又尊貴。Then Balak sent other princes, more numerous and more distinguished than the first messengers.

¹⁶他們到了巴蘭那裡，對他說：「西撥的兒子巴勒這樣說：『求你不容甚麼事攔阻你不到我這裡來，They came to Balaam and said, “This is what Balak son of Zippor says: ‘Please let nothing hinder you from coming to me,

¹⁷因為我必使你得極大的尊榮。你向我要甚麼，我就給你甚麼；只求你來為我咒詛這民。』」for I will honor you richly and do whatever you say. So please come and put a curse on this people for me!’”

¹⁸巴蘭回答巴勒的臣僕說：「巴勒就是將他滿屋的金銀給我，我行大事小事也不得越過耶和華─我　神的命。But Balaam replied to the servants of Balak, “If Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not do anything small or great to go beyond the command of the LORD my God.

¹⁹現在我請你們今夜在這裡住宿，等我得知耶和華還要對我說甚麼。」So now, please stay here overnight as the others did, that I may find out what else the LORD has to tell me.”

²⁰當夜，　神臨到巴蘭那裡，說：「這些人若來召你，你就起來同他們去，你只要遵行我對你所說的話。」That night God came to Balaam and said, “Since these men have come to summon you, get up and go with them, but you must only do what I tell you.”

巴蘭的驢和耶和華的使者

²¹巴蘭早晨起來，備上驢，和摩押的使臣一同去了。So in the morning Balaam got up, saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab.

²²神因他去就發了怒；耶和華的使者站在路上敵擋他。他騎著驢，有兩個僕人跟隨他。Then God’s anger was kindled because Balaam was going along, and the angel of the LORD stood in the road to oppose him. Balaam was riding his donkey, and his two servants were with him.

²³驢看見耶和華的使者站在路上，手裡有拔出來的刀，就從路上跨進田間，巴蘭便打驢，要叫牠回轉上路。When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, she turned off the path and went into a field. So Balaam beat her to return her to the path.

²⁴耶和華的使者就站在葡萄園的窄路上；這邊有牆，那邊也有牆。Then the angel of the LORD stood in a narrow passage between two vineyards, with walls on either side.

²⁵驢看見耶和華的使者，就貼靠牆，將巴蘭的腳擠傷了；巴蘭又打驢。And the donkey saw the angel of the LORD and pressed herself against the wall, crushing Balaam’s foot against it. So he beat her once again.

²⁶耶和華的使者又往前去，站在狹窄之處，左右都沒有轉折的地方。And the angel of the LORD moved on ahead and stood in a narrow place where there was no room to turn to the right or left.

²⁷驢看見耶和華的使者，就臥在巴蘭底下，巴蘭發怒，用杖打驢。When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam, and he became furious and beat her with his staff.

²⁸耶和華叫驢開口，對巴蘭說：「我向你行了甚麼，你竟打我這三次呢？」Then the LORD opened the donkey’s mouth, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you that you have beaten me these three times?”

²⁹巴蘭對驢說：「因為你戲弄我，我恨不能手中有刀，把你殺了。」Balaam answered the donkey, “You have made a fool of me! If I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now!”

³⁰驢對巴蘭說：「我不是你從小時直到今日所騎的驢嗎？我素常向你這樣行過嗎？」巴蘭說：「沒有。」But the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not the donkey you have ridden all your life until today? Have I ever treated you this way before?” “No,” he replied.

³¹當時，耶和華使巴蘭的眼目明亮，他就看見耶和華的使者站在路上，手裡有拔出來的刀，巴蘭便低頭俯伏在地。Then the LORD opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand. And Balaam bowed low and fell facedown.

³²耶和華的使者對他說：「你為何這三次打你的驢呢？我出來敵擋你，因你所行的，在我面前偏僻。The angel of the LORD asked him, “Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to oppose you, because your way is perverse before me.

³³驢看見我就三次從我面前偏過去；驢若沒有偏過去，我早把你殺了，留牠存活。」The donkey saw me and turned away from me these three times. If she had not turned away, then by now I would surely have killed you and let her live.”

³⁴巴蘭對耶和華的使者說：「我有罪了。我不知道你站在路上阻擋我；你若不喜歡我去，我就轉回。」“I have sinned,” Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, “for I did not realize that you were standing in the road to confront me. And now, if this is displeasing in your sight, I will go back home.”

³⁵耶和華的使者對巴蘭說：「你同這些人去吧！你只要說我對你說的話。」於是巴蘭同著巴勒的使臣去了。But the angel of the LORD said to Balaam, “Go with the men, but you are to speak only what I tell you.” So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

巴勒迎接巴蘭

³⁶巴勒聽見巴蘭來了，就往摩押京城去迎接他；這城是在邊界上，在亞嫩河旁。When Balak heard that Balaam was coming, he went out to meet him at the Moabite city on the Arnon border, at the edge of his territory.

³⁷巴勒對巴蘭說：「我不是急急地打發人到你那裡去召你嗎？你為何不到我這裡來呢？我豈不能使你得尊榮嗎？」And he said to Balaam, “Did I not send you an urgent summons? Why did you not come to me? Am I really not able to reward you richly?”

³⁸巴蘭說：「我已經到你這裡來了！現在我豈能擅自說甚麼呢？　神將甚麼話傳給我，我就說甚麼。」“See, I have come to you,” Balaam replied, “but can I say just anything? I must speak only the word that God puts in my mouth.”

³⁹巴蘭和巴勒同行，來到基列‧胡瑣。So Balaam accompanied Balak, and they came to Kiriath-huzoth.

⁴⁰巴勒宰了（原文是獻）牛羊，送給巴蘭和陪伴的使臣。Balak sacrificed cattle and sheep, and he gave portions to Balaam and the princes who were with him.

⁴¹到了早晨，巴勒領巴蘭到巴力的高處；巴蘭從那裡觀看以色列營的邊界。The next morning, Balak took Balaam and brought him up to Bamoth-baal. From there he could see the outskirts of the camp of the people.

預備驢駒

¹耶穌和門徒將近耶路撒冷，到了伯法其和伯大尼，在橄欖山那裡；耶穌就打發兩個門徒，As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent out two of His disciples

²對他們說：「你們往對面村子裡去，一進去的時候，必看見一匹驢駒拴在那裡，是從來沒有人騎過的，可以解開，牽來。and said to them, “Go into the village ahead of you, and as soon as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here.

³若有人對你們說：『為甚麼做這事？』你們就說：『主要用牠。』那人必立時讓你們牽來。」If anyone asks, ‘Why are you doing this?’ tell him, ‘The Lord needs it and will return it shortly.’”

⁴他們去了，便看見一匹驢駒拴在門外街道上，就把牠解開。So they went and found the colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. They untied it,

⁵在那裡站著的人，有幾個說：「你們解驢駒做甚麼？」and some who were standing there asked, “Why are you untying the colt?”

⁶門徒照著耶穌所說的回答，那些人就任憑他們牽去了。The disciples answered as Jesus had instructed them, and the people gave them permission.

騎驢進耶路撒冷

⁷他們把驢駒牽到耶穌那裡，把自己的衣服搭在上面，耶穌就騎上。Then they led the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, and He sat on it.

⁸有許多人把衣服鋪在路上，也有人把田間的樹枝砍下來，鋪在路上。Many in the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut from the fields.

⁹前行後隨的人都喊著說：和散那（和散那：原有求救的意思，在此乃是稱頌的話）！奉主名來的是應當稱頌的！The ones who went ahead and those who followed were shouting: “Hosanna!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!”

¹⁰那將要來的我祖大衛之國是應當稱頌的！高高在上和散那！“Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!” “Hosanna in the highest!”

進聖殿觀看

¹¹耶穌進了耶路撒冷，入了聖殿，周圍看了各樣物件。天色已晚，就和十二個門徒出城，往伯大尼去了。Then Jesus entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, He went out to Bethany with the Twelve.

咒詛無花果樹

¹²第二天，他們從伯大尼出來，耶穌餓了。The next day, when they had left Bethany, Jesus was hungry.

¹³遠遠地看見一棵無花果樹，樹上有葉子，就往那裡去，或者在樹上可以找著甚麼。到了樹下，竟找不著甚麼，不過有葉子，因為不是收無花果的時候。Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to see if there was any fruit on it. But when He reached it, He found nothing on it except leaves, since it was not the season for figs.

¹⁴耶穌就對樹說：「從今以後，永沒有人吃你的果子。」他的門徒也聽見了。Then He said to the tree, “May no one ever eat of your fruit again.” And His disciples heard this statement.

潔淨聖殿

¹⁵他們來到耶路撒冷。耶穌進入聖殿，趕出殿裡做買賣的人，推倒兌換銀錢之人的桌子和賣鴿子之人的凳子；When they arrived in Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began to drive out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those selling doves.

¹⁶也不許人拿著器具從殿裡經過；And He would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts.

¹⁷便教訓他們說：「經上不是記著說：我的殿必稱為萬國禱告的殿嗎？你們倒使它成為賊窩了。」Then Jesus began to teach them, and He declared, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”

¹⁸祭司長和文士聽見這話，就想法子要除滅耶穌，卻又怕他，因為眾人都希奇他的教訓。When the chief priests and scribes heard this, they looked for a way to kill Him. For they were afraid of Him, because the whole crowd was astonished at His teaching.

¹⁹每天晚上，耶穌出城去。And when evening came, Jesus and His disciples went out of the city.

無花果樹枯乾

²⁰早晨，他們從那裡經過，看見無花果樹連根都枯乾了。As they were walking back in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from its roots.

²¹彼得想起耶穌的話來，就對他說：「拉比，請看！你所咒詛的無花果樹已經枯乾了。」Peter remembered it and said, “Look, Rabbi! The fig tree You cursed has withered.”

信靠神、禱告與饒恕

²²耶穌回答說：「你們當信服　神。“Have faith in God,” Jesus said to them.

²³我實在告訴你們，無論何人對這座山說：『你挪開此地，投在海裡！』他若心裡不疑惑，只信他所說的必成，就必給他成了。“Truly I tell you that if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and has no doubt in his heart but believes that it will happen, it will be done for him.

²⁴所以我告訴你們，凡你們禱告祈求的，無論是甚麼，只要信是得著的，就必得著。Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

²⁵你們站著禱告的時候，若想起有人得罪你們，就當饒恕他，好叫你們在天上的父也饒恕你們的過犯。And when you stand to pray, if you hold anything against another, forgive it, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your trespasses as well.”
