離開西奈的曠野

¹¹第二年二月二十日，雲彩從法櫃的帳幕收上去。On the twentieth day of the second month of the second year, the cloud was lifted from above the tabernacle of the Testimony,

¹²以色列人就按站往前行，離開西奈的曠野，雲彩停住在巴蘭的曠野。and the Israelites set out from the Wilderness of Sinai, traveling from place to place until the cloud settled in the Wilderness of Paran.

¹³這是他們照耶和華藉摩西所吩咐的，初次往前行。They set out this first time according to the LORD’s command through Moses.

各營按次序前行

¹⁴按著軍隊首先往前行的是猶大營的纛。統領軍隊的是亞米拿達的兒子拿順。First, the divisions of the camp of Judah set out under their standard, with Nahshon son of Amminadab in command.

¹⁵統領以薩迦支派軍隊的是蘇押的兒子拿坦業。Nethanel son of Zuar was over the division of the tribe of Issachar,

¹⁶統領西布倫支派軍隊的是希倫的兒子以利押。and Eliab son of Helon was over the division of the tribe of Zebulun.

¹⁷帳幕拆卸，革順的子孫和米拉利的子孫就抬著帳幕先往前行。Then the tabernacle was taken down, and the Gershonites and the Merarites set out, transporting it.

¹⁸按著軍隊往前行的是流便營的纛。統領軍隊的是示丟珥的兒子以利蓿。Then the divisions of the camp of Reuben set out under their standard, with Elizur son of Shedeur in command.

¹⁹統領西緬支派軍隊的是蘇利沙代的兒子示路蔑。Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai was over the division of the tribe of Simeon,

²⁰統領迦得支派軍隊的是丟珥的兒子以利雅薩。and Eliasaph son of Deuel was over the division of the tribe of Gad.

²¹哥轄人抬著聖物先往前行。他們未到以前，抬帳幕的已經把帳幕支好。Then the Kohathites set out, transporting the holy objects; the tabernacle was to be set up before their arrival.

²²按著軍隊往前行的是以法蓮營的纛，統領軍隊的是亞米忽的兒子以利沙瑪。Next, the divisions of the camp of Ephraim set out under their standard, with Elishama son of Ammihud in command.

²³統領瑪拿西支派軍隊的是比大蓿的兒子迦瑪列。Gamaliel son of Pedahzur was over the division of the tribe of Manasseh,

²⁴統領便雅憫支派軍隊的是基多尼的兒子亞比但。and Abidan son of Gideoni was over the division of the tribe of Benjamin.

²⁵在諸營末後的是但營的纛，按著軍隊往前行。統領軍隊的是亞米沙代的兒子亞希以謝。Finally, the divisions of the camp of Dan set out under their standard, serving as the rear guard for all units, with Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai in command.

²⁶統領亞設支派軍隊的是俄蘭的兒子帕結。Pagiel son of Ocran was over the division of the tribe of Asher,

²⁷統領拿弗他利支派軍隊的是以南的兒子亞希拉。and Ahira son of Enan was over the division of the tribe of Naphtali.

²⁸以色列人按著軍隊往前行，就是這樣。This was the order of march for the Israelite divisions as they set out.

摩西邀請何巴同行

²⁹摩西對他岳父（或譯：內兄）─米甸人流珥的兒子何巴─說：「我們要行路，往耶和華所應許之地去；他曾說：『我要將這地賜給你們。』現在求你和我們同去，我們必厚待你，因為耶和華指著以色列人已經應許給好處。」Then Moses said to Hobab, the son of Moses’ father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, “We are setting out for the place of which the LORD said: ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things to Israel.”

³⁰何巴回答說：「我不去；我要回本地本族那裡去。」“I will not go,” Hobab replied. “Instead, I am going back to my own land and my own people.”

³¹摩西說：「求你不要離開我們；因為你知道我們要在曠野安營，你可以當作我們的眼目。“Please do not leave us,” Moses said, “since you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you can serve as our eyes.

³²你若和我們同去，將來耶和華有甚麼好處待我們，我們也必以甚麼好處待你。」If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the LORD gives us.”

約櫃在前頭行

³³以色列人離開耶和華的山，往前行了三天的路程；耶和華的約櫃在前頭行了三天的路程，為他們尋找安歇的地方。So they set out on a three-day journey from the mountain of the LORD, with the ark of the covenant of the LORD traveling ahead of them for those three days to seek a resting place for them.

³⁴他們拔營往前行，日間有耶和華的雲彩在他們以上。And the cloud of the LORD was over them by day when they set out from the camp.

³⁵約櫃往前行的時候，摩西就說：「耶和華啊，求你興起！願你的仇敵四散！願恨你的人從你面前逃跑！」Whenever the ark set out, Moses would say, “Rise up, O LORD! May Your enemies be scattered; may those who hate You flee before You.”

³⁶約櫃停住的時候，他就說：「耶和華啊，求你回到以色列的千萬人中！」And when it came to rest, he would say: “Return, O LORD, to the countless thousands of Israel.”

他備拉的火

¹眾百姓發怨言，他們的惡語達到耶和華的耳中。耶和華聽見了就怒氣發作，使火在他們中間焚燒，直燒到營的邊界。Soon the people began to complain about their hardship in the hearing of the LORD, and when He heard them, His anger was kindled, and fire from the LORD blazed among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.

²百姓向摩西哀求，摩西祈求耶和華，火就熄了。And the people cried out to Moses, and he prayed to the LORD, and the fire died down.

³那地方便叫做他備拉，因為耶和華的火燒在他們中間。So that place was called Taberah, because the fire of the LORD had burned among them.

百姓哭著要吃肉

⁴他們中間的閒雜人大起貪慾的心；以色列人又哭號說：「誰給我們肉吃呢？Meanwhile, the rabble among them had a strong craving for other food, and again the Israelites wept and said, “Who will feed us meat?

⁵我們記得，在埃及的時候不花錢就吃魚，也記得有黃瓜、西瓜、韭菜、蔥、蒜。We remember the fish we ate freely in Egypt, along with the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic.

⁶現在我們的心血枯竭了，除這嗎哪以外，在我們眼前並沒有別的東西。」But now our appetite is gone; there is nothing to see but this manna!”

⁷（這嗎哪彷彿芫荽子，又好像珍珠。Now the manna resembled coriander seed, and its appearance was like that of gum resin.

⁸百姓周圍行走，把嗎哪收起來，或用磨推，或用臼搗，煮在鍋中，又做成餅，滋味好像新油。The people walked around and gathered it, ground it on a handmill or crushed it in a mortar, then boiled it in a cooking pot or shaped it into cakes. It tasted like pastry baked with fine oil.

⁹夜間露水降在營中，嗎哪也隨著降下。）When the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna would fall with it.

摩西向神訴苦

¹⁰摩西聽見百姓各在各家的帳棚門口哭號。耶和華的怒氣便大發作，摩西就不喜悅。Then Moses heard the people of family after family weeping at the entrances to their tents, and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly, and Moses was also displeased.

¹¹摩西對耶和華說：「你為何苦待僕人？我為何不在你眼前蒙恩，竟把這管理百姓的重任加在我身上呢？So Moses asked the LORD, “Why have You brought this trouble on Your servant? Why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid upon me the burden of all these people?

¹²這百姓豈是我懷的胎，豈是我生下來的呢？你竟對我說：『把他們抱在懷裡，如養育之父抱吃奶的孩子，直抱到你起誓應許給他們祖宗的地去。』Did I conceive all these people? Did I give them birth, so that You should tell me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries an infant,’ to the land that You swore to give their fathers?

¹³我從哪裡得肉給這百姓吃呢？他們都向我哭號說：『你給我們肉吃吧！』Where can I get meat for all these people? For they keep crying out to me, ‘Give us meat to eat!’

¹⁴管理這百姓的責任太重了，我獨自擔當不起。I cannot carry all these people by myself; it is too burdensome for me.

¹⁵你這樣待我，我若在你眼前蒙恩，求你立時將我殺了，不叫我見自己的苦情。」If this is how You are going to treat me, please kill me right now—if I have found favor in Your eyes—and let me not see my own wretchedness.”

神吩咐招聚七十個長老

¹⁶耶和華對摩西說：「你從以色列的長老中招聚七十個人，就是你所知道作百姓的長老和官長的，到我這裡來，領他們到會幕前，使他們和你一同站立。Then the LORD said to Moses, “Bring Me seventy of the elders of Israel known to you as leaders and officers of the people. Bring them to the Tent of Meeting and have them stand there with you.

¹⁷我要在那裡降臨，與你說話，也要把降於你身上的靈分賜他們，他們就和你同當這管百姓的重任，免得你獨自擔當。And I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the Spirit that is on you and put that Spirit on them. They will help you bear the burden of the people, so that you do not have to bear it by yourself.

¹⁸又要對百姓說：『你們應當自潔，預備明天吃肉，因為你們哭號說：誰給我們肉吃！我們在埃及很好。這聲音達到了耶和華的耳中，所以他必給你們肉吃。And say to the people: Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you will eat meat, because you have cried out in the hearing of the LORD, saying: ‘Who will feed us meat? For we were better off in Egypt!’ Therefore the LORD will give you meat, and you will eat.

¹⁹你們不止吃一天、兩天、五天、十天、二十天，You will eat it not for one or two days, nor for five or ten or twenty days,

²⁰要吃一個整月，甚至肉從你們鼻孔裡噴出來，使你們厭惡了，因為你們厭棄住在你們中間的耶和華，在他面前哭號說：我們為何出了埃及呢！』」but for a whole month—until it comes out of your nostrils and makes you nauseous—because you have rejected the LORD, who is among you, and have cried out before Him, saying, ‘Why did we ever leave Egypt?’”

²¹摩西對耶和華說：「這與我同住的百姓、步行的男人有六十萬，你還說：『我要把肉給他們，使他們可以吃一個整月。』But Moses replied, “Here I am among 600,000 men on foot, yet You say, ‘I will give them meat, and they will eat for a month.’

²²難道給他們宰了羊群牛群，或是把海中所有的魚都聚了來，就夠他們吃嗎？」If all our flocks and herds were slaughtered for them, would they have enough? Or if all the fish in the sea were caught for them, would they have enough?”

²³耶和華對摩西說：「耶和華的膀臂豈是縮短了嗎？現在要看我的話向你應驗不應驗。」The LORD answered Moses, “Is the LORD’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not My word will come to pass.”

靈降在長老身上

²⁴摩西出去，將耶和華的話告訴百姓，又招聚百姓的長老中七十個人來，使他們站在會幕的四圍。So Moses went out and relayed to the people the words of the LORD, and he gathered seventy of the elders of the people and had them stand around the tent.

²⁵耶和華在雲中降臨，對摩西說話，把降與他身上的靈分賜那七十個長老。靈停在他們身上的時候，他們就受感說話，以後卻沒有再說。Then the LORD came down in the cloud and spoke to him, and He took some of the Spirit that was on Moses and placed that Spirit on the seventy elders. As the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied—but they never did so again.

²⁶但有兩個人仍在營裡，一個名叫伊利達，一個名叫米達。他們本是在那些被錄的人中，卻沒有到會幕那裡去。靈停在他們身上，他們就在營裡說預言。Two men, however, had remained in the camp—one named Eldad and the other Medad—and the Spirit rested on them. They were among those listed, but they had not gone out to the tent, and they prophesied in the camp.

²⁷有個少年人跑來告訴摩西說：「伊利達、米達在營裡說預言。」A young man ran and reported to Moses, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.”

²⁸摩西的幫手，嫩的兒子約書亞，就是摩西所揀選的一個人，說：「請我主摩西禁止他們。」Joshua son of Nun, the attendant to Moses since youth, spoke up and said, “Moses, my lord, stop them!”

²⁹摩西對他說：「你為我的緣故嫉妒人嗎？惟願耶和華的百姓都受感說話！願耶和華把他的靈降在他們身上！」But Moses replied, “Are you jealous on my account? I wish that all the LORD’s people were prophets and that the LORD would place His Spirit on them!”

³⁰於是，摩西和以色列的長老都回到營裡去。Then Moses returned to the camp, along with the elders of Israel.

鵪鶉與災殃

³¹有風從耶和華那裡颳起，把鵪鶉由海面颳來，飛散在營邊和營的四圍；這邊約有一天的路程，那邊約有一天的路程，離地面約有二肘。Now a wind sent by the LORD came up, drove in quail from the sea, and brought them near the camp, about two cubits above the surface of the ground, for a day’s journey in every direction around the camp.

³²百姓起來，終日終夜，並次日一整天，捕取鵪鶉；至少的也取了十賀梅珥，為自己擺列在營的四圍。All that day and night, and all the next day, the people stayed up gathering the quail. No one gathered less than ten homers, and they spread them out all around the camp.

³³肉在他們牙齒之間尚未嚼爛，耶和華的怒氣就向他們發作，用最重的災殃擊殺了他們。But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the LORD burned against the people, and the LORD struck them with a severe plague.

³⁴那地方便叫做基博羅‧哈他瓦（就是貪慾之人的墳墓），因為他們在那裡葬埋那起貪慾之心的人。So they called that place Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had craved other food.

³⁵百姓從基博羅‧哈他瓦走到哈洗錄，就住在哈洗錄。From Kibroth-hattaavah the people moved on to Hazeroth, where they remained for some time.

米利暗和亞倫毀謗摩西

¹摩西娶了古實女子為妻。米利暗和亞倫因他所娶的古實女子就毀謗他，說：Then Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses because of the Cushite woman he had married, for he had taken a Cushite wife.

²「難道耶和華單與摩西說話，不也與我們說話嗎？」這話耶和華聽見了。“Does the LORD speak only through Moses?” they said. “Does He not also speak through us?” And the LORD heard this.

³（摩西為人極其謙和，勝過世上的眾人。）Now Moses was a very humble man, more so than any man on the face of the earth.

⁴耶和華忽然對摩西、亞倫、米利暗說：「你們三個人都出來，到會幕這裡。」他們三個人就出來了。And suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “You three, come out to the Tent of Meeting.” So the three went out,

⁵耶和華在雲柱中降臨，站在會幕門口，召亞倫和米利暗，二人就出來了。and the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance to the Tent, and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When both of them had stepped forward,

⁶耶和華說：「你們且聽我的話：你們中間若有先知，我─耶和華必在異象中向他顯現，在夢中與他說話。He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, will reveal Myself to him in a vision; I will speak to him in a dream.

⁷我的僕人摩西不是這樣；他是在我全家盡忠的。But this is not so with My servant Moses; he is faithful in all My house.

⁸我要與他面對面說話，乃是明說，不用謎語，並且他必見我的形像。你們毀謗我的僕人摩西，為何不懼怕呢？」I speak with him face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you unafraid to speak against My servant Moses?”

⁹耶和華就向他們二人發怒而去。So the anger of the LORD burned against them, and He departed.

米利暗長大痲瘋，摩西為她代求

¹⁰雲彩從會幕上挪開了，不料，米利暗長了大痲瘋，有雪那樣白。亞倫一看米利暗長了大痲瘋，As the cloud lifted from above the Tent, suddenly Miriam became leprous, white as snow. Aaron turned toward her, saw that she was leprous,

¹¹就對摩西說：「我主啊，求你不要因我們愚昧犯罪，便將這罪加在我們身上。and said to Moses, “My lord, please do not hold against us this sin we have so foolishly committed.

¹²求你不要使她像那出母腹、肉已半爛的死胎。」Please do not let her be like a stillborn infant whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.”

¹³於是摩西哀求耶和華說：「　神啊，求你醫治她！」So Moses cried out to the LORD, “O God, please heal her!”

¹⁴耶和華對摩西說：「她父親若吐唾沫在她臉上，她豈不蒙羞七天嗎？現在要把她在營外關鎖七天，然後才可以領她進來。」But the LORD answered Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Let her be confined outside the camp for seven days; after that she may be brought back in.”

¹⁵於是米利暗關鎖在營外七天。百姓沒有行路，直等到把米利暗領進來。So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until she was brought in again.

¹⁶以後百姓從哈洗錄起行，在巴蘭的曠野安營。After that, the people set out from Hazeroth and camped in the Wilderness of Paran.

彼得認耶穌是基督

²⁷耶穌和門徒出去，往凱撒利亞•腓立比村莊去；在路上問門徒說：「人說我是誰？」Then Jesus and His disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way, He questioned His disciples: “Who do people say I am?”

²⁸他們說：「有人說是施洗的約翰；有人說是以利亞；又有人說是先知裡的一位。」They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.”

²⁹又問他們說：「你們說我是誰？」彼得回答說：「你是基督。」“But what about you?” Jesus asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ.”

³⁰耶穌就禁戒他們，不要告訴人。And Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about Him.

第一次預言受死復活

³¹從此，他教訓他們說：「人子必須受許多的苦，被長老、祭司長，和文士棄絕，並且被殺，過三天復活。」Then He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and that He must be killed and after three days rise again.

³²耶穌明明地說這話，彼得就拉著他，勸他。He spoke this message quite frankly, and Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.

³³耶穌轉過來，看著門徒，就責備彼得說：「撒但，退我後邊去吧！因為你不體貼　神的意思，只體貼人的意思。」But Jesus, turning and looking at His disciples, rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”

捨己，背起十字架

³⁴於是叫眾人和門徒來，對他們說：「若有人要跟從我，就當捨己，背起他的十字架來跟從我。Then Jesus called the crowd to Him along with His disciples, and He told them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.

³⁵因為，凡要救自己生命（或譯：靈魂；下同）的，必喪掉生命；凡為我和福音喪掉生命的，必救了生命。For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and for the gospel will save it.

³⁶人就是賺得全世界，賠上自己的生命，有甚麼益處呢？What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?

³⁷人還能拿甚麼換生命呢？Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

³⁸凡在這淫亂罪惡的世代，把我和我的道當作可恥的，人子在他父的榮耀裡，同聖天使降臨的時候，也要把那人當作可恥的。」If anyone is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in His Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

¹耶穌又對他們說：「我實在告訴你們，站在這裡的，有人在沒嘗死味以前，必要看見　神的國大有能力臨到。」Then Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God arrive with power.”

在高山上改變形像

²過了六天，耶穌帶著彼得、雅各、約翰暗暗地上了高山，就在他們面前變了形像，After six days Jesus took with Him Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There He was transfigured before them.

³衣服放光，極其潔白，地上漂布的，沒有一個能漂得那樣白。His clothes became radiantly white, brighter than any launderer on earth could bleach them.

⁴忽然，有以利亞同摩西向他們顯現，並且和耶穌說話。And Elijah and Moses appeared before them, talking with Jesus.

⁵彼得對耶穌說：「拉比（就是夫子），我們在這裡真好！可以搭三座棚，一座為你，一座為摩西，一座為以利亞。」Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”

⁶彼得不知道說甚麼才好，因為他們甚是懼怕。For they were all so terrified that Peter did not know what else to say.

⁷有一朵雲彩來遮蓋他們；也有聲音從雲彩裡出來，說：「這是我的愛子，你們要聽他。」Then a cloud appeared and enveloped them, and a voice came from the cloud: “This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him!”

⁸門徒忽然周圍一看，不再見一人，只見耶穌同他們在那裡。Suddenly, when they looked around, they saw no one with them except Jesus.

下山時論以利亞

⁹下山的時候，耶穌囑咐他們說：「人子還沒有從死裡復活，你們不要將所看見的告訴人。」As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus admonished them not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

¹⁰門徒將這話存記在心，彼此議論「從死裡復活」是甚麼意思。So they kept this matter to themselves, discussing what it meant to rise from the dead.

¹¹他們就問耶穌說：「文士為甚麼說以利亞必須先來？」And they asked Jesus, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”

¹²耶穌說：「以利亞固然先來復興萬事；經上不是指著人子說，他要受許多的苦被人輕慢呢？He replied, “Elijah does indeed come first, and he restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected?

¹³我告訴你們，以利亞已經來了，他們也任意待他，正如經上所指著他的話。」But I tell you that Elijah has indeed come, and they have done to him whatever they wished, just as it is written about him.”
